is that normal or what's going on in my laptop

Systematic Endpoint antivius protection installed on my computer. Recently I have been seeing high CPU temps - around 70/75 and fan exhausts around 4500. I have been researching on other forums and I have seen that it could be the virus protection that is causing this. Now I know that I don't really need the virus protection because well, I have a mac. So I was wondering how can I successfully uninstall the protection. And if anybody on here disagrees with it being the virus protection, then what do you think it could be? Right now I am only running Firefox for surfing and Itunes.

I have been running Parallels windows 7 + photoshop CS5 + MS word at the same time by bouncing from one to the other on MTN Lion, My machine was running at about 115-120F and an average speed of 1998 rpm-2200 rpm. I have just upped to Mavericks and running same programs My temperature zoomed up to 215F and my speed to 3800 rpm.
I recently bought a MacBook Pro 15inch, the 2.66Ghz model;Nice laptop, but I'm worried about something: I play some games from time to time and I have been noticing that the CPU Temperature goes very High.My record is 92?C just moments ago while playing World of Warcraft.ou can see a screenie here: http://drp.ly/6gW9a
(In this screenshot the Fans speed was about 2600rpm although under 90? they drop to 2000rpm)The laptop itself is not hot though, it's warm. (And I like it <3)
My macbook pro is almost always in my room. The problem is that at night my room gets the coldest (around high 50's to 60's). I don't have a case yet, as school has not started. Is this particularly bad form my MBP if I, take my MBP out of my room and move it to family room to use it. (the family room is around 70's in the morning)
I have heard of internal condensation, but would this be a problem in my case. I guess at night the temp is high 50's than by morning (b/c of the sun) the temp rises slowly to about high 60's, than I move it to family room, mid 70's? Its not below freezing at my house (I live in Southern Cal.), but again wondering if this is right.
So recently my 2008 Macbook Pro has been getting really hot, even when it's not really being used. It's now too hot to put on my lap and even sitting on a desk it doesnt get any better, and I am only running Chrome and iChat. Here are the Temp Monitor and iStat Pro sceenshots: I feel like it's been getting progressively hotter over the last few weeks, but what do I know. Also, why are the fans at 4500 rpms when Im only running chrome and iChat?
View 6 Replies View RelatedBeen using my imac lately and I've noticed a drop in wi-fi signal. I checked iStat and it said that the airport card's temp was 62?CIs the high temperature linked to the loss in signal?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently bought an imac computer and my two friends who know a lot about apple computers thought that the fans and temperature might be a little high. The cpu fan at idle runs at just under 1200 rpm's, the harddrive fan runs at 1100 rpm's and the optical drive fan runs at 1000 rpm's. The temperature itself 40-44C. The other imac that they know of is a year old, so we weren't sure if there were newer upgrades that might be making the difference between our speeds and temperature compared to that one.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo ive been having alot of trouble with rendering a 6 minute video on Final Cut Pro X.
I go to file, share, and use HD 1080p, the video gets about 25% through when this error comes ups:
and then when i click on 'details' this comes up:
Ive looked up this problem and I cannot find a solution, I've tried doing whatever i can think of like copy and pasting it all into a different project and trying that, creating a new event and pasting it into a project there, ive tried turning off App Nap too.
Also, all throughout editing this actual video i kept running out of disk space and alot of errors would come up, so when this error came up i thought it might be that and i deleted alot of things i didnt need and cleared out my trash but it hasnt made a difference.

I noticed that iStat and Temperature Monitor report different temperatures for the same readings on my G5 Powermac Dual Processor System. For example as I am writing this Temperature Monitor is saying My CPU A is 46.8C and CPU B is 46.7C. In iStat it says CPU A is 55C and CPU B is 54C. Which is right!?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI apologists straight away if this have been covered recently, but i need to ask.I have MacBook with Intel Core Due Processor, 2 GB ram. What is the average temperature CPU temperature for standard usage ( I know that standard usage is very arbitrary, and by this I assume safari, iTunes and let say Pages to be the only major apps running ).I use iStat pro widget and according to it my CPU temperature is 55*C. Is this too high? Lately the fan has been turning on more recently almost without any apps running so I think that there might be some hardware problem. I ran HardwareTest it found nothing.
The macbook is 2 yrs old. Do i need to get it cleaned or is there something else I should be worrying about?
I have been asked to recommend a MBPro for a friend that edits HD 1080i video but does not want the hassel of a tower/iMac.
CPU power is one thing on a MBPro when it comes to rendering is not that great from what i see on mine but I have a 2.4Corei5 April2010 15"
Anyone using a Corei7 to render in imovie or FCP that can tell us if its worth it vs a tower or iMac?
In my macbook pro 15 inch mid 2012 model, my cpu and gpu will get very hot, when gaming or rendering sometimes over 200F. The fans only spin at max about 2900 rpm, when their max is 6400. I downloaded a fan control app, but how can i fix it?

I am a long-time MacPro user. I mostly use the MP for PhotoShop/LightRoom but occasional I will use Premier and Maya for Video editing and 3D work. I was wondering if the new MacBook Pro is powerful enough to handle these tasks. Also with the inclusion of ThunderBolt I was hoping I might have the ability to add on fast external storage and even the ability to option boot other OS's running from and external. Also... how does one hard connect to the network with no ethernet connector... and will I be able to connect up my trusty 23" cinema display?

I ran a file to export which converts to a quicktime .mov file.I expected these times but what's nice is that the fans on the MB kick in at full blast in 1 minute whereas the MBA full fans at 4 minutes full. Far less fan noise on the MBA! Looking at the temps, the MBA ran a full 11 degrees cooler the entire time. Fan noise is very important as I can now record voice from a usb mic without the fan noise being recorded as was the case with the Macbook.
Only downside is that the MBA takes longer (didn't time it) to cool down. Does anyone else have a longer than usual cool down time for the fans to go from full 6500 rpm to the norm 2500rpm?
I don't understand why after 4 Apple Repair Depot visits my MB Pro is STILL killing several USB FLASH and external hard drives a week. It has consistently done this since the day I bought it. I have fried a large variety of FLASH Memory sizes, shapes, through all USB ports and even through attached hubs. Once my mac does this to a USB device, it is no longer recognizable by any Mac or PC ever again. Unrecognized, it doesn't even leave an opportunity for Disk Utility to reformat, rewrite, perform first aid, verify...nothing. Third-party formatters don't work either. It also doesn't seem to matter what brand, size, or port I use. For a certain period the devices would become very hot and sometime actually melt into puddles of liquid plastic and metal.
On the 4th depot dispatch for this issue they did replace the mother board USB ports and EVERYTHING ELSE but the display hard drive, and case. This stopped the heating and melting problem, but I'm still frying the devices and rendering them unrecognizable. Does anyone have ANY IDEA of what may be causing this? Is there anything I can do to stop or prevent it? Apple sure can't explain it much less fix it. This is a huge EXPENSIVE problem, and I can't seem to get past it, and I'm in an endless loop of sending in in for constant repairs. WHat can be done to stop or prevent this from happening?
Im thinking about getting a mbp 13" and i was wondering how well it edits and renders 1080p video. i currently edit and render on my 2007 mb and it takes 3 hours just for the render, plus it freezes for a few seconds here and there scrolling through the video. so we will say 4 hours total 1 hour to edit 7 min clip and 3 hours or more to render it. what my question is does anyone out there edit and render 1080p video with there 9400m and if so about how long does it take. and how long the video was that you rendered. the reason im asking only about 1080p is that my mb can work fine with 720p and it has the igpu for intel the x3100. also i mainly shoot in 1080p/60 frames per sec.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI just picked up a Macbook Pro with 10.6 and notice some fonts in Firefox appear too strong or bold. I've run a search here but not getting this corrected.
I went to system prefs and turned off font smoothing in appearance.
I opened terminal and put in "defaults -currentHost write -g AppleFontSmoothing -int 1" but not seeing any change there either.
I'm a noob with terminal. When I enter the above, I get nothing but a prompt again. Am I missing something?
I have another gripe about FCP 6 (6.0.3) and it's ability to utilize the full power of my system. I'm rendering some clips in my timeline that have multiple FX (mostly 3rd party filters), the footage is native DVCPRO HD as is the sequence. But when I render, FCP is only utilizing 110% CPU. I've seen FCP use more - up to almost 400% but never higher, but I don't remember what it was doing then - maybe rendering while also converting non-native clips in the timeline, or maybe exporting. But, this is astoundingly frustrating to be sitting on an Octo Penryn and having my bread and butter app only utilizing 1/8 of my CPU power, and running out of memory when it's used it's 4GB RAM limit on a system with 20 GB of RAM. I just had the system rebuild it's optimization on startup yesterday. Is there any way to force Final Cut to utilize more of the other 7 cores (like you can do with the Q Admin for Compressor)?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I recently bought myself a Macbook Pro 2006 Model 15". And the idea was, buy it second hand and get the fan fixed totally the price of 600$. Which is great, because it works and things are fine.
But why is it that when I'm on Facebook on either Opera or Safari? My temp hits 80c. I've called up the Mac Store here in Ireland. They asked me to use iStat Pro to find out my temperatures. So I have, and all my temperatures are fine (around 30-50c) but my CPU temperature is hitting 80c.Honestly, this is quite scary to see that a computer I've bought hits 80c when I browse the internet?
Specs:
Mac Os X 10.5.8
Processor: 2GHz Intel Core Duo
Memory: 2GB 677MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Macbook Pro 15"
I'm getting fed up with dealing with the Mac Store, if you guys know what I need to do to fix this problem? I'll open it myself, and fix it.
I'm running Folding@Home and my CPU is at a constant 88-90 degrees celsius. Is this a safe operating temperature?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have just brought the 1.8GHz + SSD version. It's really fast and quiet, until the fan spinning like crazy.
What is the acceptable CPU temperature on the Air?
Mine got up 89 degree C (192.2 F) MAX for a while, when the heat-sink is at much lower temperature, like 60-ish. Can't remember what tasks it was doing. It's 54 right now just with the Websites running, and the heat-sink is at 43.
Is it normal? Or should I worry about the thermopaste on the machine?
