View 14 RepliesI recently bought a MacBook Pro 15inch, the 2.66Ghz model;Nice laptop, but I'm worried about something: I play some games from time to time and I have been noticing that the CPU Temperature goes very High.My record is 92?C just moments ago while playing World of Warcraft.ou can see a screenie here: http://drp.ly/6gW9a
(In this screenshot the Fans speed was about 2600rpm although under 90? they drop to 2000rpm)The laptop itself is not hot though, it's warm. (And I like it <3)
Temperature my macbook pro is very high  And the fan work all the time Â
is that normal or what's going on in my laptop
Info:
MacBook Pro
Systematic Endpoint antivius protection installed on my computer. Recently I have been seeing high CPU temps - around 70/75 and fan exhausts around 4500. I have been researching on other forums and I have seen that it could be the virus protection that is causing this. Now I know that I don't really need the virus protection because well, I have a mac. So I was wondering how can I successfully uninstall the protection. And if anybody on here disagrees with it being the virus protection, then what do you think it could be? Right now I am only running Firefox for surfing and Itunes.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy macbook pro is almost always in my room. The problem is that at night my room gets the coldest (around high 50's to 60's). I don't have a case yet, as school has not started. Is this particularly bad form my MBP if I, take my MBP out of my room and move it to family room to use it. (the family room is around 70's in the morning)
I have heard of internal condensation, but would this be a problem in my case. I guess at night the temp is high 50's than by morning (b/c of the sun) the temp rises slowly to about high 60's, than I move it to family room, mid 70's? Its not below freezing at my house (I live in Southern Cal.), but again wondering if this is right.
So recently my 2008 Macbook Pro has been getting really hot, even when it's not really being used. It's now too hot to put on my lap and even sitting on a desk it doesnt get any better, and I am only running Chrome and iChat. Here are the Temp Monitor and iStat Pro sceenshots: I feel like it's been getting progressively hotter over the last few weeks, but what do I know. Also, why are the fans at 4500 rpms when Im only running chrome and iChat?
View 6 Replies View RelatedBeen using my imac lately and I've noticed a drop in wi-fi signal. I checked iStat and it said that the airport card's temp was 62?CIs the high temperature linked to the loss in signal?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently bought an imac computer and my two friends who know a lot about apple computers thought that the fans and temperature might be a little high. The cpu fan at idle runs at just under 1200 rpm's, the harddrive fan runs at 1100 rpm's and the optical drive fan runs at 1000 rpm's. The temperature itself 40-44C. The other imac that they know of is a year old, so we weren't sure if there were newer upgrades that might be making the difference between our speeds and temperature compared to that one.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Macbook Pro keeps a constant temperature of approximately 80-85 degrees Celsius with only the internet browser running. Is this too high? I have also talked about my computer shutting off on games that were not very graphic intensive like Torchlight.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I bought a MacBook Pro 13", once I open it, it starts with 40C processor temperature, hitting 70 after sometime and stays there, and when I run an application it hits 80-90C? Is this normal! Whats the maximum temperature of my 2.53 processor!
View 21 Replies View RelatedI have an original MacBook Pro 15" (A1150) that randomly shuts down. Seems to be running very hot. I've already had to replace a bulging battery, and TechTool Pro has indicated a temperature-related S.M.A.R.T. failure with the HD.
If I downgrade the HD from 7200 RPM to 5400 RPM, will that help with the heat issues? Any other heat-related fixes? I know the 13" MacBook Pro suffered a random shutdown syndrome, but I didn't know if the 15" was affected too.
I just installed the iStat Nano widget in my MBP 15" Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz. Amongst other things, it displays the system temperature, which is currently at 32 Celsius. However, I do not know which is the appropriate temperature range for my system, so I cannot know which level should be an alert for me. Could someone inform me about the appropriate temp levels? Moreover, I have ordered and expect soon the new MBP 15" i7. Are the same temperature levels appropriate for all Mac machines, including my new MBP?

View 9 Replies View RelatedHey guys, got a little issue here. I have had a MBA since about march of this year. Just recently I on two occasions the computer has all of a sudden had this loud high pitch whine. It has only happened twice and at both times (if I remember the 1st time correctly) I wasn't really doing anything on the computer. Today specifically it was just sitting idle on my desk. Not sure where its coming from maybe speakers? Any idea to what this is? Should I be setting up an appointment to see a Mac Genius?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI noticed that iStat and Temperature Monitor report different temperatures for the same readings on my G5 Powermac Dual Processor System. For example as I am writing this Temperature Monitor is saying My CPU A is 46.8C and CPU B is 46.7C. In iStat it says CPU A is 55C and CPU B is 54C. Which is right!?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI apologists straight away if this have been covered recently, but i need to ask.I have MacBook with Intel Core Due Processor, 2 GB ram. What is the average temperature CPU temperature for standard usage ( I know that standard usage is very arbitrary, and by this I assume safari, iTunes and let say Pages to be the only major apps running ).I use iStat pro widget and according to it my CPU temperature is 55*C. Is this too high? Lately the fan has been turning on more recently almost without any apps running so I think that there might be some hardware problem. I ran HardwareTest it found nothing.
The macbook is 2 yrs old. Do i need to get it cleaned or is there something else I should be worrying about?
I have a MacPro 2.66 quad-core intel. 4gb ram. I have a hard-drive from my old Powermac that i upgraded to 10.5.5 for this computer. Everytime I put my computer to sleep, and then wake it back up. The fans spin up to maximum speed and all the fans are running really loud and then after about a minute all spin to normal speed.
I don't have any other flaws except for this. Why could this be?
Is it possible to run the a MacPro under bootcamp all the time using a high end Nvidia or ATI graphics card?I would like to use the MacPro as a gaming PC.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI would cross-post this mail I sent to the HighPoint support folks in the off chance that someone here (Hi nano!) can help me sort this out.I recently purchased the RocketRAID 4310 with the hopes of using it to replace my pain in the ass CalDigit. Read below for what a "good time" this has turned into.IHopefully you can educate me where I have gone wrong and get this working. As it stands now it looks like this card does not work with a Mac at all. Being that was the main reason for purchasing it I am not very happy.I first tested the card in a PC to make sure that it was functioning correctly, and all worked well. The card came with a BIOS (non EFI) installed. I then followed the directions in the manual to get the card up and running my new 2008 Mac Pro.
View 24 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me crazy, so any help would be greatly appreciated.I am using an IBOOK G4, running OS 10.3.9. Never had any major problems with the computer itself I am currently living in Korea, and thus have very highspeed internet. However, on my Mac, it is running quite slow. There is no modem that I can reset, because the apartment building is already wired so my ethernet cable connects directly into the wall. A friend came over to test the connection (speedtest.net) with his PC and he was downloading 60,000 KBPS, when I plugged in my MAC I was downloading at 15,000 KBPS. He downloads various things at around 2mb/s and I sometimes only get 50 kb/s.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbrook Pro, one generation old. In the past week, it started making a high pitched noise from the upper left hand corner, near the keyboard. When I pick the computer up and change the angle, I can eliminate the noise.
Just in the past day I noticed that in addition to this high pitched noise, periodically a much louder, different noise comes from the same area, which again, if I move the computer around, I can minimize the noise.
My guess is that there is something loose in the computer, maybe a fan? Should I bring it to apple? My computer has been running pretty slow lately, could this have anything to do with it?
My imac became very slow all of a sudden (stalls when clicking and typing), 2-3 mths after Lion (not sure it's related), mount_hfs and syslogd taking up 80-99% of CPU in Activity Monitor. After digging online, checked my Console and found repeating messages exceeding 20,000+++. But I'm not sure what is being repeated (sample below).I've already turned off Time Machine.I was able to delete the syslogd activity, but still left with 99% mount_hfs, which 'maybe' related to the 20,000+++ repeated messages. Not sure if it's relevant...but I was digging through my asl folder, and it is up to 10g for a single date for some reason! Does it hurt the computer... If the computer is doing something (watching flash, playing a game) that turns on the fan full speed;Does this hurt the computer? There are a few games I like to play and they turn on the fan at full speed (computer gets hot too, on the bottom.)
