Dec 8, 2009I've seen previous discussions regarding problems installing a Dell printer. I have a Dell 962 wireless printer. I did find the compatible Mac driver R92834 and I did install the driver. However, when I try to add the printer, I can't find the printer in the drop down list. Am I supposed to be looking for a Lexmark printer? If so, I have no idea what model is equivalent to the Dell 962 AIO. The model sticker is 4409-0d1. A search for this model returns nothing. I'm a newbie with Macs. OS is 10.4.3. Got any ideas?

If I choose Autoselect, is states that Software for this printr isn't available from Apple. Mar 19, 2010I am attempting to connect my Dell AIO Photo 926 printer to my wireless network (WPA2). I use an old Apple AirPort Extreme (hereinafter "AAE") as my router (it's the old "dome shaped" one). I believe that heoretically I could plug the printer into the USB port on the back of the AAE and any computer connected to that network can print to the Dell printer. I have installed the drivers for the Dell AIO Printer and it prints fine when connected to my laptop (Windows 7). However, I am having NO luck doing this when I go to Control Panel and run the "add a printer wizard." Is there anyone who might be able to point me in the right direction to a tutorial or something? Is what I'm trying to do even possible with an AAE and an "older" Dell printer?

Oct 20, 2009I'm an IMac newbie, so please excuse me if this is "old" information. However, I've done a lot of searching and can't find a "simple" solution. Maybe there isn't one. Again, please excuse me if this is dumb...Just got a new 27" IMac. I have a Dell AIO 966. I know now there is no OEM driver. But, I thought there was a Lexmark driver model (that might show up in the OX 10 install process I could substitute, or a Generic driver. So far, no luck. And frankly, some of the things I am reading when I search are either old, old posts or too complex for me.
Is the simple answer, "get a new printer?" Or, is there a usable driver loaded into OS X? Is there a thread or post that I am missing?

Feb 5, 2012I tried to install a Cannon 620 printer. It seemed to go ok, showed up on the printer list when I tried to send a job, but it wouldn't come online and print. I fiddled around (bad idea) and changed the printer sharing parameters, and now whenever I try to go into system preferences, printer/fax, it freezes and I have to force quite. Same with other apps when I try to do something with the printer (like word). I tried to uninstall, but can't get to the driver to uninstall it, as it is in systems preferences. how to uninstall even though I can't get into the system pref printer options?

Nov 2, 2009I'm looking for a new monitor to go with my MBP, and I'm stuck trying to choose between the ones listed above.
The 2407WFP is a couple of years old now I guess, but it's the rev A04 version, which supposedly fixed the (few) problems with what was otherwise meant to be a great screen. It's an sPVA screen.
I've heard good reviews of the G2410, with its LED backlighting. It's still a TN panel and I hear so much bad stuff about them.
The 2209WA is an eIPS panel which I like the sound of, but it's smaller and lower resolution.
The F2380 is a cPVA panel, the image quality looks better but I've heard bad things about blacks on this panel.

Oct 28, 2009I have an printer. I connected this printer with USB to a computer with windows XP. I shared this printer in a network. When I acces it from another windows PC, it works fine. However when I try to use it from my mac (OS X 10.5.8) it does not work. I can find the printer on the network (System preferences-> Print and Fax -> + -> Windows -> select printer). (Note, I'm dutch, so I translated the names, I hope it is clear).
Now here the problem starts:
When I select the printer, I have to choose (Print according and here I can select various kinds of printer drivers. But the Epson stylus pro 4000 is not in the list! So I did have a look on the internet and found that this printer cannot work full functionally at OS X 10.5.x. However there was a 3.09 version which allowed some limited use. So I did download this file and installed it. But what do I have to do now? The driver still is not in the driver list in the add printer menu.
