MacBook Pro :: 2013 Shows Question Mark Folder?
Aug 24, 2014My macbook pro 2013 shows question mark folder instead of booting. I fix it by going in recovery mode.
Re-start immediately after fix works, but problem keep repeating. Also i noted system have become slow. I have tried verify disk and repair disk permission, used disk start-up application.

OS X :: Server Missing ILife Options?
Sep 4, 2010I got my second Mac Mini. I decided to get the Server Version because I liked the hardware (2 500 GB drives) and I wanted to play around with the Server Features. The Apple Guy at the Store did not indicate there was any of the client software missing on the Server Version. He mainly just said it was missing a DVD Drive which I new. Being fairly new to the Mac OS I was not really sure what to ask. My background is many years of Windows Experience (server and client). So, I kind of assume it would have everything the normal Mac OS has plus all of the Server Add-on's (like the Windows Server). Was I wrong, is it missing more then just iLife? I understand iWork does not come on either version.

Jun 15, 2012I performed a fresh install of OSX with my Snow Leopard upgrade disc, and now I'm missing iLife. I don't have a copy of the OSX version that came with my Macbook Pro. Is there a way for me to retreive iLife without having to shell out more cash? I would think I could request a copy of my original OS from Apple, as I've done in the past with other companies.

May 8, 2007boot my iBook from the OS X install CD. I put the CD in and then rebooted while holding C but nothing happens. The computer just shows a folder with a question mark.

May 2, 2010Yesterday while I worked on the mac it had froze up. After the restart it shows one folder with question mark in the center of the screen and can't load the OS.
I am trying to reinstall the os from my leopard cd but when i have to choose where to put system folder in Disk utility, there is no hdds there. The only device i can see is my dvd rom. I tried to attach external hdd but it doesnt shows too.

Mar 7, 2012So this is my first time really implementing Macs in an Active Directory environment and everything is going fairly well, except when it comes to the Home directory. All of my users are running 10.7, and with the latest patch, they can all log into the Domain without any issue. The problem is that their Home directory in the dock is displayed as a question mark. I'm guessing I'm missing something in the configuration, but everything looks right. Anyone have the 411 about how to set up a Mac user to map a Home directory to a network share on a Wiindows 2008 AD network?

Feb 17, 2006The default zoom when I open any Word doc is a very small 100%. I prefer to use Page Width. So every time I open a file I have to go View-->Zoom-->Page Width, which is a hassle.I find no prefs for this detail.

OS X :: Using Time Machine To Transfer Info To New IMac/iLife 08 To ILife 09?
Mar 10, 2009So I already placed my order for my new iMAC. I have a MacBook (2006) with iLife 08.
My question is: When I get to transfer my MacBook info into my new iMAC, will i encounter any problems with my iLife files being that I have iLife 08, and the new iMac's come with iLife 09? The Time Machine transfer won't bring the new iMac software back to 08 will it?
Just want to be sure before I set this up.

Oct 28, 2009I am considering purhcasing iLife 09 to upgrade from iLife 08 that came pre-installed on my early-2008 MacBook Pro, as I like the new iPhoto features, (the iLife app I use most frequently out of the entire bundle), but I was wondering if by doing so there is a chance I may lose any files.
For those that did the same 08 to 09 upgrade, did you lose an individual photos from your library, albums altogether, events, slideshows, etc.?
For those that didn't lose them directly in iLife/iPhoto, what about on the HDD itself, and vice versa?

Feb 2, 2012how to embed an image with a link, or embed a Microsoft Word document with a hyperlink built within the document -- not as an attachment into my email -- but where it shows as the email content when opened! Does ANYONE know the secret? Can it be done, or not? My PC clients do it all the time easily. Then I want to be able to send the embedded image/document (not as an attachment, but visable within the email when opened) to many email contacts at once, BUT the individuals receiving them DO NOT SEE the other email contacts.

Jan 27, 2009long time reader, first time poster. I know this topic has been beaten to death - but I've read all the post and have not found an answer for my question.
If you have iLife 08 installed and just installed a new copy of iLife 09 - does the following happen?
1. iLife 08 gets removed.
2. All Data from iPhoto 08, iMovie 08, iDVD etc, gets transferred to the new application.
3. No Importing is required to move any of the data over the new version of the software. It just works as if you didn't even have iLife 08 in the first place.

Would it be safe to delete the imovie 08/ idvd 08/garage band 08 so it does not interfer with 09. Software :: ILife Or No ILife With Leopard?
Nov 19, 2007So I bought Leopard family-pack and installed on 4 Macs (and de-installed one). All installs were "clean installs". And all yielded Leopard WITHOUT iLife products (iPhoto, iTunes, etc.).
Now people tell me that they also did "clean installs" and iLife was present afterwards.
The only difference I can judge is that I used a family pack whilst the others used a "single licence" pack.
Can anyone provide some light into this?

Aug 21, 2014My MacBook Pro 13", running on latest update, is showing a completely blue, plain blue, desktop background. It changed all by itself. When I tried to reset it by right clicking on the image I want on my desktop and selecting "Set Desktop Picture" nothing changes. When I go into my settings and try to change it that way, the image I want as my background shows as already being my background, yet my desktop is still blue. Tried rebooting already.
