View 1 RepliesI have a Macbook Pro and I am trying to burn a dvd. From a movie I created in iMovie. I exported the movie, in a couple different methods. But I can't get the dvd to burn. "error code 0x80020022". I can burn cds successfully and I am almost 100% positive this mac can burn dvd's. I don't know what to do.

As a hearing-impaired individual, I am curious to know because I don't like driving to blockbuster when I want to rent a movie. Maybe this is the wrong forum, ._.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I just recently purchased a Mac mini and I started putting my music all into the computer. I logged into my Apple ID and it works fine, but every time I try to update my apps, I get an error code 5002. I thought to myself, "well, this is a Mac, so I know its not a firewall blocking the internet or anything in particular". So I went ahead and tried updating my iTunes Match account while I Googled for the error code 5002. When I updated iTunes Match, it looked as if it was gathering information when all of a sudden, it stops and gives me an error code -50. It said "Genius results can't be updated right now. An unknown error occured (-50). So then I immediately started to worry. I plugged in my iPhone 4S (for the first time) and decided that once in sync mode, it will just update my apps so I don't have to worry about downloading it on my Mac. Well, that is when I received an error code 1008. It wanted me to authotize my computer and when entered my credentials, it said it couldn't authorize it and when I cancelled the process, it gave me the error code 1008. So... I am stuck in a rut since I've spent almost an entire week trying to figure this out with no solution. I have tried signing out and signing back in and nothing. I also restarted my wireless router and no luck. I can't afford to create a new account since I've always had the same Apple ID and I have a BUNCH of media that I have purchased through iTunes, so creating a new Apple ID is out of the question. I can't sync my iPhone, I can't update iTunes Match, and I can't update my apps. I am currently using the 800 dollar Mac Mini.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I am here at work, and have spent the last 4-5 hours trying to resolve this issue, and cannot find any working solutions for it on the internet. We have .3gp recordings. All of a sudden, we started getting this error on some of our computers. Example: I want to play test.3gp; I try to open test.3gp in QuickTime, and I get an error that reads...
"Error -2002: A bad public movie atom was found in the movie:test.3gp" But when I go to play test2.3gp, it plays fine. This issue varies from computer to computer. I get this error on all three of my machines. 2 Windows 7 64bit, and 1 Windows 7 32bit. My colleague and boss can play test.3gp fine through QuickTime on their computers. One is Windows 7 64bit the other is 32bit.
Anyone know some causes of this and hopefully a way to solve it? I tried cleaning up registry errors, running as administrator, updating, reinstalling... Nothing is working.

I am getting this error "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)." when I try to transfer files from my Mac Mini to my External Harddrive which is connected to my Airport Extreme. " The error does not appear to happen all the time. It does seem consistent if I am transfering files and then try to transfer more.
The files I am transferring are .mp4. It does not appear to care about the size of the file, it happens with small files and large files, I can transfer some large folders (2.54G). I can connect the hard-drive externally directly to the mac mini and it will transfer any file.
I am receiving an error 5.5.4 "Invalid Email address error code 17099 indicating that mail could not be sent for Account name: "Msn".I have recently moved from a PC laptop and have been sent email messages to this account on my iMac successfully for several weeks. The email address in question is actively sending and receiving messages. I can receive email from that account.

So i am having a problem with copying files onto my Iomega external HDD. Itunes films, other video files (GoPro format, etc.), music, basically anything that is not text or a picture (for the sake of this post, the movie Taken), begins to transfer and right about at the halfway point the message "The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "Taken.m4v" can't be read or written. (Error Code -36). I have trie dot_clean and several other solutions that i have read around the web but none of it seems to be working. I suppose it might also help to know that mz external drive is formatted as MS-DOS (FAT32). Strangely, i have gotten 2 files to transfer, an iMovie film that i made myself and one of the films in my itunes library. other than those two files, the only thing i have been able to transfer has been text documents and pictures.

I want to remove a file from my external drive but the contents of that file are deleted already. Only the alias remains. But I can't delete it since "The operation can't be completed because one or more required items can't be found. (Error code -35)" appears. What can I do to remove this file?

I'm transferring my files from a slowly failing mid-2010 MBP to my new retina MBP and have encountered an issue with one of my files. I have two concert recordings (2gb each) that will not transfer onto my hard drive and keep giving me the "Error -36 some data cannot be read or written".i am able to preview the sound files and can listen to them all the way through with no problem, but when i open them in ableton the computer locks up (which is common and cannot necessarily be blamed on the file). I have tried to convert them to a different format using MAX but i get the same error message. I've tried renaming and changing permissions as well as airdrop but it all has the same result of getting this error message. i was able to drag the file into my dropbox folder but (to no sucessful upload) and drag it out, but im not able to copy ans paste it.
I've had no other issues transferring the recordings of the same nature (transferred to my computer just like these two during the same tour).
I got the Mac error code -36 while trying to move a backup file (made by Time Machine) to another drive. The full text of the error message is: The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “boot.efi” can’t be read or written. (Error code -36)

I know that VisualHub is no more, but I still use it to transcode stuff for my Apple TV. I have an mkv file with embedded subtitles (not hard coded) which I can turn on or off in VLC, however I want to hard code them into the movie, so I go through the transcoding process and it ignores the subtitles. Does anyone know how I can get VisualHub to hard code the subs on the output movie? As I'm probably barking up the wrong tree now VisualHub is no longer, could someone point me in the right direction of an easy way to do this? I'd rather not use Handbrake as I don't get as good results (dropped frames, and choppy video) as I do when I use VH.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a Late 09 15" MBP and a WD 1TB external HD. I've never had a problem until now. I start up the hard drive, then it loads up fine and the Mac recognizes it just fine. As soon as I try to copy something - doesn't matter how big it is - I get an error and at the end it says "(Error code - 36)". It just says the file cannot be read or written. Weird thing is I can access everything on the hard drive. Anyone have any tips before I try reformatting the HD?

I backed up all my data onto a couple of DVDs before formatting and upgrading my ststem but now, when trying to copy this data back I am getting the error message. The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "filenamehere" can't be read or written. (Error code -36). I have looked for ages to try and find a solution for this, but there does not seem to be one when copying from a DVD.
