Mar 21, 2010Fairly simple, I've added an automatic contents page to my document, but I was hoping to have it use two columns instead of one to conserve space since none of the headings are especially wide. However, when I change the number of columns, it screws up the contents, whatever is used to space out the titles and the page numbers doesn't seem to adjust automatically.
I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to do this without manually entering the contents?

Sep 20, 2010After 5 years using a mac i still didn't found a solution for a keystroke i used on windows. When i'm programming i sometimes would like to tab more then one row at the same time.
For example, this:

On windows i was able to select the three rows and press the Tab key, but on Mac it replaces my selection with a single tab. Is there a way to do this on mac?

Apr 25, 2012I have had an iMac since 2010 and everything has been great however recently my batteries needed changing in my wirless keyboard, when i chenged them all of a sudden two rows of letters would not work.all of the function buttons work fine as do the numbers and the line of letters with q,w,e,r,t however the row with a,s,d,f and z,x,c,v do not. (except for the capslock button)They keyboard has not been dropped i simply changed the batteries and they stopped working.I have tried hooking the keyboard up to my macbook pro and the same thing happens.as i am reluctant to drive an hour to my nearest apple store, for them just to tell me its broke and i need to pay £57 for a new one.

I have twice performed the "PRAM Re-set" with Command-Option-P-R depressed with pwer on and that has worked. But tonight it came back and I had to do it a third time. Aug 26, 2014My macbook is running Mavericks OS X 10.9.4, and I'm having difficulty getting rid of the vertical black columns on my computer screen when it is connected to my classroom projector. I've played with the resolutions, and the best resolution for the VGA display is 1024x768...Unfortunately this creates less than desirable black columns on my computer screen. Another teacher in my school has display settings of "1024x768 stretched," and her macbook does not have the issue mine does. However, I don't think she is running Mavericks 10.9.4. I cannot find this display option on my computer.

MacBook Pro ::Page In And Page Outs Please Clarify
Sep 27, 2010i have a 2010 15" MBP 2.66 ghz i7, with 4 GB ddr3 1066 ram, 500 GB 7200 rpm HDD, and the nvidia GT 330 M gpu. I tend to get down around 30 MB of ram when i am running Starcraft 2. I do not understand what pages in and pages out means. Before i started SC 2 it was like 50k + pages in and 0 pages out. After running SC 2 for like2 hours i have 150k+ pages in and 100k + pages out.I am pretty sure i just need to add some more ram but i would like to know what these mean so i can better monitor my system.

I have a large inbox and normally find mail by clicking on the "From" column header, to sort the by the names of people sending me mails. Using entourage I would then press "d" on the keyboard to take me the first name begining with d. However in Mail when I press d, it takes me to the first email in which the subject line starts with a d. How do I get it to take me to the first name begining with d?

Dec 6, 2010I want to sort out my finance spreadsheet where I have the category of the spending and the adjacent cell is the amount I spent.

[Gas , $50]
[Grocery , $80]
[Lunch , $15]

What I'd like is for a function that can sort the categories into individual columns for the categories. So that this big list of purchases I have is sorted out into their own column that matches the category and then sums it too. Does this make sense? I was sort of avoiding any VBA for this but if thats how it has to be done then thats cool

My problem is that on the second page, I would like the document to continue on without any table. I would like for the text to flow from the table into regular margin document on the second page. Is there a way to do this?

1. System prints PDF files very slowly, about 50 seconds per page, a text only page. Sometimes will just continue sending data to printer as indicated by flashing green light on printer – does not stop sending and printer does not print. Problem also present when try to print PDF files as sent by others over internet (eg TD Bank statements).
2. Unable to cause double sided printing using IMac – no problem with PC.
Trouble shooting:Took the same one page text only file that was very slow in IMac, transferred to PC using a memory stick – connected printer to PC using same USB cable – page starts printing in about 1 seconds – no problems.No difficulty in printing Word files other than no double sided. Think the problems started with OSX Yosemite upgrade and the companion Safari upgrade. Auto update for software is on and no new updates. Old drivers removed and new one installed Tried Apple internet chat to resolve problem – was unable – the user forum indicates others have had difficulties with printing PDF files.
