Jan 22, 2010I am giving a computer to a friend and he wants to keep a lot of my preferences, music, installed free software etc so I don't want to reinstall os x. However I would like to empty iCal of my entries for the past few years. I can't find anyway to do this other than individually deleting the entries which would take forever. Is there a way anyone knows for mass deleting iCal entries or restoring 'factory defaults'?

Sep 18, 2010I'm running an old software, it's Mac OS X, ver. 10.4.11, 2 GHZ intel core 2 duo. Safari version 4.1.2. On the Safari tabs at top, "Bookmark" tab, just under "bookmarks bar"option are two websites that are not websites that I have bookmarked. I can't make them go away. I have tried to right click on them but to no avail. They aren't opened anywhere else. Found them right after a new power up.

I am able to delete old ones and add new, but the program reverts to previously saved very old settings on restart.Â

Jan 8, 2011After using Firefox and many others on the Mac, it's now my default browser. It's the only browser that's in the dock, actually. But I have a complaint about it.On a MacBook, the screen isn't wide enough for all of my bookmarks to show up in the bookmarks bar. The "bookmarks" menu in the bookmarks bar is hiding the last bookmark I have. How do I get rid of that? The top menu already has a bookmarks pull down menu.

Jun 7, 2012After my recovery drive went missing and trying to reinstall it, had to do a format of my hard drive and reinstall everything once I got OS X reinstalled and up-to-date, I tried to import my bookmarks from a backup bookmarks file, when I quit safari and re-open safari bookmarks were missing and default ones back in place. When searching though the forums for how to fix this problem but too know unluck they did not work.

Sep 9, 2014I went to my calendar (iCal) on my MacBook Air and all my appointments were gone! All that is displayed are all my Facebook friends' birthdays. I went to System Prefs > iCloud and saw that Calendar was unchecked. I checked it and it tried to sync for 30 seconds and then failed. The box was automatically unchecked. I tried this repeatedly. The calendar on my iPhone, which is also synced to my iCloud account looks fine. What happened to my calendar on my laptop and how do I get them back?

May 20, 2012I've recently changed service provider for my exchange (now using 2010 on PC and and outlook for Mac2011). I had been using 2003 and my iphone synched fine and also updated the server when I deleted emails. Now I have several issues. When I upgrade the software on my iphone it duplicates contacts and some calendar appointments. Also whilst emails I delete on my Macbook air update the server, my iphone isn't updated and also if I delete things on my iphone they don't delete on either machine. (This use to be fine on earlier software and before I had the Macbook). My iphone wants me to update to iOS 5.1.1 but both of the last times I've updated the software it duplicates appointments and deletes a whole load of contacts off the server. Am wondering whether it's because despite settings changing it is holding history of the old account.

They are trying to run a MOTULauncher, which is probably some type of driver for a recording device I installed at one point but no longer use. Software :: Address Book Entries On Mac Are Gone?
May 1, 2010I use a Mac running OS X 10.4.11. This morning I tried opening my address book and got the "spinning pinwheel of death" that lasted 10-15 min. "Force Quit" wouldn't work, so I had to hard reboot. When I tried to open my address book all the entries were gone. I back up everything automatically continuously on an external hard drive and when I try to access the address book backup file, it says "You cannot open the application "Address book" because it may be damaged or incomplete".

I have read many answers and printed off a few to follow them but invariably i get to a point where I am unable to take the next step! I back track and and unable to find a fault of where I went wrong!! Then I have to ask myself WHY? Why on earth am I having to go to such extreme lengths to get rid of the unwanted entries?Come on now Apple it is you who should be providing the simple logic answer to this?I decided to give up? just ignore the other entries it easier than going frantic trying (and anyway I am frightened I may throw the macbook in my temper)
