I just bought a incase hard shell for my 15 mbp 2010th. The top part just doesn't completely click on all four places. Bottom one fits perfectly. Anyone else had a similar experience?
View 22 Repliesif any of you have any stuck or dead pixels on your machines? I have a blue one and it's sh*tting me up the wall. I tried everything, the website that just flashses all the different colours, the damp cloth and then tapping it trick... turning it of and on and applying pressure, all of them to no avail. Anyone else have any pixel issues? Also when looking at my MBA from the side when the screen is closed there is quite a big gap between the keyboard (bottom half) and screen (top half) it's closed and tight towards the thin end, but towards the bigger end the gap gets quite large, about 4-5mm...should i put a book on it or something to try and flatten it out?

I would like to know that if anything was to happen to my soon to have macbook I could change it. Also this on the older macbooks. And if I have Apple to change it how much would it cost? And yes I know that they should replace keyboard case area for free because of the defunct cracking issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have latest iTunes 10.6.1 and its library located on external drive, connected by FW800.
System properties -> Energy saver -> Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible is On Everything works perfect in case of local access.
Also in case library's drive sleeps, it takes just several seconds more in order to wake drive. But remote access works only in case the drive is waked somehow. I.e. if Home Sharing is enabled and drive sleeps I cannot get access to the content from remote iTunes or Apple TV.
I think it is a bug, remote access shall be not broken in case the drive is sleeping. Also it is known, some forums explain that you shall never put external drives in sleep mode in case this drive used for iTunes Home Sharing [URL]

I've got no network software running in the background (other than dropbox), and I don't think I've set up a custom DNS. Not really sure how to check what it is. This is an on and off thing, sometimes facebook loads, sometimes it doesn't. Using computers connected to the same WiFi, I can freely access Facebook with no issues.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI made a DVD in iMovieHD, which I burned to DVD using Toast Titanium. The disk played and I watched it in different players. I made a copy for my son and he was able to view it on his PC. Now, neither disc is readable. I currently use iMovie 6. The computer does not recognize the disc at all and ejects it. The DVD was of our 2007 vacation to Yellowstone and I still have the still images and DV tape, but I really don't want to remake the video. How can it be possible that a DVD that once worked perfectly, is no longer recognized?

View 12 Replies View RelatedAfter loads of headwork I may have a perfect running Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro. I was running XP but decided for a change, installed 7 but had the issues with sound, keyboard, bluetooth etc etc tried a few things but no joy. So went to Vista instead, things worked fine but didn't partition enough space so another reinstall was needed, then came the brainwave if everything is running smoothly in Vista surely if I upgrade to 7 it should still work, ok I was a little wrong 90% of it did.
I even had sound, bluetooth issue was resolved just needed to uncheck 'allow computer to control sleep thing' just needed to sort out the keyboard backlight, eject and fn keys. So in my wisdom I reinstalled bootcamp 2.1 update, ignore the messages that come up it will install...reboot and voila all Working! I will be rigorously testing this over the next week so will post back any issues, hopefully there wont be any. By the way I am using the x86 version as my MBP doesn't support 64bit. So in short:
Partition > Vista (make sure fully updated) > Upgrade to Windows 7 > reinstall Boot Camp >
Anyone ever had the screen fixed in a macbook/ macbook pro ?I jumped out of bed at he weekend and stood on my late 2008 model macbook pro. tht I had been surfing in bed the night beforehe result is a fine crack on the top of the screen the machine still works perfectly. I have it inured but there is a ?250 excess, and it is still under warranty, but I am sure that apple won't fix it for free with me standing on it with my elephant feet!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on restoring a Time Machine backup from Leopard to a clean installation of Snow Leopard. The only problem I'm facing is that the Leopard backup is on a case-sensitive drive (and the Snow Leopard drive is set up, by default, as case-ignorant).
I have scoured the Web the last two days and have not found a definitive answer to my question: Is there a way to transfer the data from the Time Machine backup on the case-sensitive drive to the case-ignorant Snow Leopard drive?
Yesterday I ran across a tutorial explaining how this might be accomplished using SuperDuper! but a commenter explained that Disk Utility could be used and was much easier.
I tried the Disk Utility method but it didn't work, and I ran out of time to give the SuperDuper! option a try. Does anyone know if it, or even Carbon Copy Cloner, might solve my problem?
I use Front Row most days to watch TV shows and movies. But some of my TV shows seem to be in the Movies section? And in the TV section some of the shows say Various. But in iTunes they are all perfectly categorized. How can this be fixed?

After I did the new install, the computer booted up and runs different applications perfectly. However, the harddrive Icon stop appearing on the desktop. Will someone tell me how to get the harddrive icon to appear on the desktop again?

Well I think his accessories will save us some money for this new iPhone 4. I went inside my garage and found my old iPhone dock that Apple provided with the original iPhone. I said ?hey maybe this dock will fit the new phone.? And it did EXACTLY what I predicted. The new iPhone 4 dock FITS in the old original iPhone dock. I just saved myself $30 for a new dock!

Now i can't decide if i want a case or a Sleeve. Now the Case might have heat issues even with the vents that are on the case. The sleeve won't have that issue but will it be more prone to scratching the Macbook it self? Or should i go no case and just sorta deal with the scratches. There is a Price difference between the Sleeve and the Case. About $20 Cdn more for the Case.

Currently using a modded leather square CD storage thingie, but it's a bit thick, kind of defeats the purpose. Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fixed USB cable which gets snagged.
Strange that the usual suspects (Tucano etc.) haven't made a custom case for this peripheral.
I recently picked up a MacBook Air for a great price. The only problem is that it was dropped and has significant denting and disfiguring to the aluminum case that is behind the screen with the glowing Apple logo. I got a quote of $650 from the Apple store to send it out for repair. That is way beyond what I am willing to spend for cosmetic damage. I started searching and found the bottom of the case as well as the top of the case and keyboard but have had no luck finding a replacement for the backing of the screen. Dies anyone know where I can pick one up?

We are currently in the design, development and prototyping stages or creating sleeves specifically for the MacBook Pro line and what to know what exactly it is that you guys, as consumers are looking for.
One thing we're looking to do, is NOT utilize a zipper - or metal of any type. As users ourselves, we've experience scratched cases first hand, not traveling that route.
We're looking to launch, using some fantastic full-grain leathers that we've been fortunate enough to source given our vast experience in the footwear & apparel materials industry. I think you'd find the quality to equal that of some "designer" hand bag companies - with the added costs.
So.......lets have it.....what do you guys like.....and just as important - what do you not like?
