I have a new MacBook Pro (it's by 6th over many years), operating on OS X version 10.7.3 - but I still have an iPhone 3G. Until a week ago I was able to tether but since cancelling the pairing between the two devices for a short time and then re-pairing I am no longer able to tether. I even tried with my husband's iPhone 4 but was unsuccessful. The pairing itself is successful but I am unable to connect. Is there something in the latest OS X version that has cancelled out pairing capabilities?
I don't have internet access at home, instead tethering to my iPhone via USB when needed. However I do have a local Airport network set up for Airtunes streaming. The problem is that if connect to my Airport network, my computer no longer connects to the internet via USB tethering since it apparently expects to connect over wifi. Is there a way to simultaneously be online via USB tether AND stream music over Wifi? I'd also like to be able to print over wifi, but that's less of a concern.
How can I use the bluetooth connections in the mini and macbook pro, already used for file transfer, for internet connection?
Every google search I do is saturated with using the iPhone to tether - I want to use a perfectly good & new mini to tether the MBP, Santa Rosa, to the internet.
Looking for a cheap 3G to tether with my mac. Bluetooth or usb doesn't matter. Good battery life wouldn't hurt. But apart from these aspects and being cheap there's nothing i need. I just need the phone to have some 3g internet in my summer house a couple of days a year.
I can't seem to get my Macbook Pro 13" 2.26Ghz (OS 10.5.7) connect to my iPhone 3G (OS 3.0) via bluetooth. In the Bluetooth Setup Assistant the macbook sees the iPhone 3G, but they don't connect after I accept the connect on the iPhone 3G. The codes on the Macbook and iPhone are the same and, therefore, should connect.
I've searched the Apple Discussions (support) but there is no answer there.
I used Macthe Ripper to rip my sons chuggington dvd to my macbook pro, then i used handbrake to convert it, i managed to copy the converted file to my itunes library, but when i symc my iphone 3gs, it says it won't copy the file because it can't be played on my iphone.Several forums mention using the iphone/ipod touch preset when converting in Hnadbrake, now i may be a numpty, but i cant find this preset anywhere?! The closest thing i can see is an apple button/setting.when i selected apple and told it to play again, it said it would overwrite the prev converted verison. It took hours to convert the first time, if I do this, will it really work? Or will I waste another 3 hours?!
I found out something interesting that brings back two years. Remember that old iPhone, the one that came out on June 2007. Well I think his accessories will save us some money for this new iPhone 4. I went inside my garage and found my old iPhone dock that Apple provided with the original iPhone. I said ?hey maybe this dock will fit the new phone.? And it did EXACTLY what I predicted. The new iPhone 4 dock FITS in the old original iPhone dock. I just saved myself $30 for a new dock!
I unfortunately lost my whole itunes library that was on an external hard drive. I was able to download my music and apps stored in icloud. I want to sync my iphone and ipad to itunes for mac without erasing everything on these devices. can this be done keeping all my apps, music, folders intact on these devices.
Have an existing iphone, and want to put all contents on new macbook pro. did a backup and sync and when i unplug the ipnone there is nothing in itunes
Is there a built in feature in OSX that will let me use the 3G signal from the iPhone to let me go online with my MBP? Or do I need a 3rd party program?
I have a new MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.4 and already owned an iPhone 3G that was synced to my iBook G4. My iPhone connects and is recognized in iTunes, but I cannot backup or do anything with the Apps or Music. The photos transferred to iPhoto.
Since the MacBook Air has limited hard drive space, I'm wondering - Would it be possible to "sync" things like music, photos, videos, etc. - like I can with my iPhone? I'm thinking I could sync the MacBook Air with my desktop, and take with me only the photos/music/etc that I want to travel with.
my last PC is broken and I lost all my photos and didnt have them backed up, My New Laptop is a Mac Pro.. but cant work out how to get old photos which are already in albums from my iphone to my Iphoto Library
the only way I can see to do it is to email them over but theres 2000 odd photos which will take me so long...would be grateful if anyone knows an alternative way i can retrieve them
So my hard drive failed and I am starting from scratch, new HD, no music. My entire music collection is on my IPhone running 3.0. Does anyone know of a program similar to Senuti that's free and supports software 3.0?
Three months ago I switched to a macbook pro after fifteen years of pc use at home and with my business. I was led down this path as a result of my iPhone use mainly. I wonder how many new recruits Apple have got through the iPhone platform?
I have a new Macbook Air and have a slide show on it in iphoto. I want to project it in a big theater with no Wi-fi and I need to use a remote. Can I use my new iphone? Do I need an appt and can I do it without Wi Fi?
Bluetooth worked 2 days ago connecting iPhone 4s and pro. After downloading ymail the Internet feature on MacBook won't work anymore yet Bluetooth still connects. I have remove ymail and terminated the account but still no luck. I can access wifi at work and Internet is okay but can't get into the apple store anymore.
I've just purchased an MacBook Air after using PC's for a number of years. Now I'm trying to transfer my playlist, music ratings and photo's from my iphone to my new Mac.

I downloaded find my iphone app on my Ipad. I have no problems finding my MacBook from it. I tried to download find my Iphone on my MacBook. But after it is installed, I can't find it.How can I find my Ipad, using my MacBook?(Yes, I have updated the software, and yes, I have activated Find My Iphone on my Icloud).
When I plug my iphone into my Macbook pro I get the chirp so I know it is charging but I don't get any icons showing the phone is connected nor do I see it on Finder. I also have an Air and my iPhone works great for that. I can't seem to find the setting difference that allows my Air to see the iPhone but it doesn't allow my Macbook Pro to see the iPhone.
