Apr 13, 2012Being that most Macs have built-in Bluetooth connection capabilities, does anyone know a way to connect 3rd party wireless keyboards & mouses without using the Nano USB receiver? There has to be a way to do it, isn't there?Â
Once I have enough money saved up and can afford a wireless Apple Keyboard and Magic Mouse, I'm stuck with the GE setup that I currently have.Â

Feb 22, 2012My Mac Mini loses connection with my Onkyo receiver NR-609 after turning off the receiver then back on. The only way to reistablish the connection is to unplug then replug the HDMI cable to the Mac Mini. There's no effect if I unplug then replug the HDMI to the receiver.

OS X :: Mouse Not Working After Wake / Mouse Cursor Is Beachball And Not Spinning
Jun 6, 2008When I wake from sleep, my mouse cursor is a beachball that is NOT spinning. I can use my mouse like normal, move it, and click on things, but its still a beachball. I beleive it stays like this until the mouse is actually supposed to be a beachball (when I open a few programs at the same time and the computer starts "thinking"), then it starts spinning and after that it goes back to the normal black arror cursor.
Might be a problem from the 10.5.3 update? anyone else experience this?
Hardware :: Easiest Way To Connect System To Receiver And Speakers
Apr 8, 2010i have a G4 with an m-audio revolution 7.1 sound card. the speakers are cambridge soundworks 510D and the receiver is an old denon avr-1403. i have an spdif cable but the problem is my speakers are "computer" speakers so i cant just go from the digital out on my sound card to the digital in on the receiver and plug my speakers/sub into the receiver. and here's a pic of the back of the sub on the 510D showing the inputs

Jun 27, 2014Every once in a while the mouse pad will stop working. A wireless mouse will work in its place. The keyboard will also act extremely slow during this time. It seems like the buffer is full and it moves on to the next letter i type without using the previously typed letter.Â

MacBook Pro :: 17" Slow Reconnect To Wireless After Wake From Sleep?
Oct 18, 2009I'm hoping I can get some ideas and guidance on this. A few months ago I bought my wife a 17" MBP. At the time we had a D-Link DIR655 Wireless-N router and the MBP worked great with it. If I woke the machine from sleep the reconnection to the wireless network was pretty much instantaneous.
Unfortunately that router started to flake out and I replaced it with what is considered to be a top of the line router, Netgear WNDR3700. This router has a dual N band. One band is N only the other one is B/G/N. I have attached the MBP to both networks.
When the MBP wakes up it takes up to a minute for the wireless to be re-established. Weirdly it will reconnect to the SECOND of the two networks that are listed in priority order on the advanced wireless settings.If I remove either of the two networks and only have one listed, sometimes the MBP will take over a minute to eventually get reconnected.Does anyone have any thought on this? It's very frustrating and I haven't figured out why the reconnection is so slow with this very high end router. All my other wireless devices maintain their connection to the router very well with no drops or reconnects.

Jan 26, 2010I use a kensington usb bluetooth adapter to the belkin usb hub to use my magic mouse on the macpro desktop, in the bluetooth options for the mouse, the waking up the computer option is greyed out. Is there any way to wake up using the mouse or do I have to wake up using the power button on the tower itself?

May 23, 2012I have changed both sets of batteries. Turned them off and back on multiple times. Only reason I am able to ask this question is because I'm using my phone. I need my computer back. Dec 14, 2009My new Magic Mouse appears as a wireless Mighty Mouse on my iMac 10.6.2. When I open the mouse Preferences Panel, I get the options for the Mighty Mouse, not the Magic Mouse. It worked fine on my hackintosh with 10.5.8 but not with 10.6.2, so it seems the culprit might be in 10.6.2? It seems that USB Overdrive is the culprit for some, but I don't have it.

In Mavericks, the wake up process was instantaneous.

Jan 14, 2010When I try to print from my Powerbook G4 to my HP 6500 wireless printer it will not work. I have found out that if I turn off/on the printer then it will print. So, it must be an issue with the computer not waking the printer from a sleep mode. Anyone have a solution to this that doesn't consist of me turning off then on the printer? I have tried to reinstall a few times with no avail.

Feb 23, 2012My iMac is set up wireless. Every time it's allowed to go in sleep mode, it loses wireless connectivity. Then, when I wake it up, I must go to System preferences, Network and request it to reconnect to my home wireless network. It always does this successfully, but it's quite annoying that it seems unable to achieve this on it's own. My iPad 2 and kindle can do this, why not my iMac?

Jun 21, 2009Whats with all the ports on the left hand-side on all the uMBP's.. Looking at the cable length on my wired mouse it would not go all the way around from the left handed USB ports to the right hand side as I'm right handed like the majority of the entire worlds population.So whats that mean? I either have to buy an USB extension cable or get a wireless mouse?!? Also, I prefer to have my MBP on the left with my Larger display on the right. This makes it more limiting cable wise in order to achieve this.

Like say 'mac compatible' or whatever... but i thought they might not put mac compatible on a keyboard like that cause not all the functions on it will work.

Currently I have my U-verse gateway(which has a wireless router built in) in my home theater. The AppleTV is wired into the gateway. The signal from the gateway does not reach my office so I was able to hack a linksys router into a repeater bridge (different SSID as my U-verse setup). This allows me to stream my iTunes library, which is stored on an external HD (1.5tb) connected to my Mac, to my Apple TV.
