I accidentally sent a folder of photos to the Trash. This folder was my backed up photos from my pc. I am terrified that I will lose this and I have no idea how to move this whole folder to iphoto.

I have a little issue with the trash, when ever I trash something it automatically empty the trash but before it was empty completely it display a massage.
I know normally if you want to trash something, all you have to do is press "⌘ + Delete". To empty trash you press "Option + ⌘ + Delete" But now when I press "⌘ + Delete" it display the massage as you see below.
How do I fixed it or have it go back to normal state?
I'd like to move the "apps" folder for itunes out of the main hard drive, and into an external. Can I do that???!

My wife has a MacBook running the latest version of Lion.In the last few days somehow Mac Mail has started to move many incoming messages into the trash, automatically.There are no rules set. I will move the emails back into the inbox, but then they get moved back.I have rebuilt the mailbox. Reset permissions. The computer is completely up to date.There are no settings in her iPhone that I can see that would cause this, and she doesn't access her iCloud email from other computers.

So now I have a trash folder full all my Drobo's content and I can't figure out how to get it all back to "put back"! Thought I'd start this thread for people to discover/add any info they have on what iPhoto Faces is doing behind the scenes to help with troubleshooting, since Apple doesn't have any preferences for Faces in the iPhoto GUI. This is only for people who like to understand what is happening behind the scenes. Please note this is not for everyone and anytime you do anything to your iPhoto library you risk corruption and should have a backup copy. What I've noticed so far:
- iPhoto scans the library the first time it opens, and creates 2 faces .db files with the iPhoto Library:
face_blob.db
face.db
- iPhoto creates Faces thumbnails files and places them in the iPhoto Library/Data folder along with the other thumbnails it creates................
i would like to move some of the media folders in the home folder to another partition, for example the Movies, Pictures, Music, maybe even Documents and also keep the folder icons.Just recreating them in the other partition I lose the folder icons/designs so is there a good way to do this?I have already recreated a downloads folder and pointed all relevant programs to download anything into that folder/partition but I dont have the nifty icon...I cant delete any of the existing ones in the home folder even if I recreate them and I wonder what the repercussions are if I do it to my music folder i.e itunes etc
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm an idiot, pleased to meet you.I had 2 external drives connected to my Macbook Pro, both had time machine back ups on...I meant to delete one of these but deleted the wrong one, and dragged it into Trash. On realising my mistake I tried to drag it back out of Trash, as you would normally but after "preparing to copy" for four hours it told me the drive was full...It's a 500gb drive, and the Time Machine back up is the only thing on it, so presumably it's just trying to copy itself when the back up is still present on the drive, albeit in the Trash.

Initially, the trash container worked as expected: Items would go directly to the trash and stay there until I emptied it.Â
I don't believe I did anything to cause what it does now but I don't like it: If I move something to to trash, I am prompted to enter my password (which I really don't like) and no items are held in the trash (what I used to call the recycling bin--which I kind of liked having).Â
As for troubleshooting, I have changed the preference settings under "Finder" and nothing changes.

I would like to archive hundreds of my emails that currently exist in my apple mail email filing system by moving them into file folders in the finder. I can do this easily with a single email but it wont let me do it with multiple emails or a complete folder. Is there any way of do this easily?

i just got my new hd in. i was installing all my apps i need. and then i was installing hdamp and i did something in terminal. now in finder i have folders called .Trash and like .DS_Store which i think is part of smcfancontrol. i actually now have a ton of weird named folders iv never seen before in finder right next to my user folder and app folder etc.. what did i do? does anyone else see windows symbols in my sig? i dont see how when i put the (apple) symbol in.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I open Mail it syncs all the messages like it should and then I go thrrough and delete all the junk emails and inbox emails that arent important. They go to the Trash folder and when I click "erase them permanently" they disappear, but then the Trash folder starts filling up with more emails and adds up to 400 every 10 seconds until around 2000. No matter how many times I select them all and click delete it just fills up again.

iPhoto opens this fine however, I was wondering about the naming convention. After I merge everything in Aperture, can I move the library and change the name to library_name".photolibrary"?Â
