I've tried 3 different pairs and none seem to work....the sound menu states that headphones are plugged in and working however all sounds are still coming out of the speakers, which are also not loud even if turned up to the max.

my MacBook Pro audio from the headphone jack just decided to stop working. The weird thing is, in system preferences, the computer is detecting that I've plugged in headphones. I can even control the volume and click play/pause from the control on the headphone wire, just no audio.

I am having trouble with the bluetooth on my MacBook Retina Display (software is up to date). My MacBook will not connect to my iPhone 5, nor will it connect to the bluetooth headphones I just purchased (Sony MDR-XB950BT). When I try to pair the devices to my MacBook, nothing comes up in the field of recognized devices, except for other laptops around me. Sometimes, my iPhone will show up quickly but then it will say the pair was unsuccessful. My headphones have never appeared on the devices list. However, I can connect my headphones to my iPhone perfectly fine.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Pro 13" (Mid-2009) running Windows 7 32-bit via Bootcamp. I was trying to figure out how to get my Motorola S805 bluetooth headphones to work in Windows 7, and the difficult part was that Windows 7 doesn't include the necessary A2DP bluetooth profile in the stock bluetooth stack. You're supposed to get it from your bluetooth adapter vendor, which apple doesn't seem to include in the Bootcamp drivers. The solution was to install the Broadcom/Widcomm bluetooth driver version 6.3.0.3800. I found a number of websites with this driver, but I wasn't sure if they were reputable or not. I eventually found the driver I needed from Gateway, which I was willing to try

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having some trouble having my speakers and headphones working together.
In my prior setup, I've always had my Macbook Pro Line-Out connected to a set of speakers who allowed for my headphones to be jacked into it.
I had no problems with this setup as it allowed me to use either one.
Now, I bought a new Logitech G35 headset which has a USB end as opposed to the 1/8" jack, and I have to switch between the speakers and headset via Settings > Sound > Output.
Just a quick question -- do you know if it is possible to use the microphone on my iPod touch's headphones on my Macbook Pro by plugging it into the microphone jack? If not, any recommendations as to how I can go about doing something like that?

What is the sound quality like on macbooks? I've heard that it's not the greatest and I am prepared for that. I have a 17" dell and it has an unbelievable sound system for a notebook. Is the one of the macbooks really that bad? Anyone just down right frustrated with the quality? I can always get some speakers later too and hook those up when I really wanna crank it. Also when you use your notebook most of the time you will just be listening through your own headphones anyway and I'm sure it's loud through headphones, correct?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have been using my headphones in new macbook pro for about 3 months and everything has worked fine. About two weeks ago I started using external speakers, but my headphones still worked when I plugged them in, until about yesterday. The headphones are not even recognized the the volume just goes throught the laptop speakers. My headphones work with my ipod still so I know they are fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought a 15" MBP last week and got a few apps installed on this machine. And now it looks like I have a problem with the sound. When I use the built-in loud speakers, it is totally fine. But when I plug in the headphones. The left one is bigger than the right one. I check the sound configuration, the balance is put right in the middle (for both built-in loudspeakers and headphones). Therefore, I have to put it 3/4 on the right for the headphones. But I just don't know what is happening with my MBP. I believe probably there are some conflicts between the installed software with the drivers or something, but since it happens for both Mac OS and Windows 7 (Boot Camp), I guess I was wrong then.

Basically, I'm using a Macbook with Snow leopard (version 10.6.8) and in the last week or two (though it couldn't happened previously and not been noticed) whenever I remove my headphones from the macbook and go to listen to some audio, the mute and volume up/down buttons on my keyboard do not respond to changes in the volume. Â
So when I'm in itunes the only way to change the volume is by pressing pause in itunes itself and to use the slider, the keys F10, F11 and F12 to change them don't do anything. It's the same when watching youtube videos - the audio can only be muted through the button on the website and not through the audio buttons as I can do usually. Â
This problem goes away when I restart the macbook. Obviously it's not a massive issue, but restarting after finishing with my headphones just to have easier control over audio is annoying, and I was wondering if anyone else has this problem or has dealt with it?

My sound works fine at first, then I plug in my headphones and sound still works but when I pull out my headphones I lose sound in headphones and speakers on my 13" MacBook Pro. Only a reboot (as far as I know) fixes it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEver since upgrading to Yosemite I cannot use headphones on my Macbook Air (2013 model).Â
The problem seems to only occur when I am on the same network as an Apple TV. If I unplug the Apple TV, or turn off Wi-Fi on my Mac then the headphones start working again. Obviously this isn't a great workaround, as I like to be able to stream music over the Internet and listen using headphones. The usefulness of an Apple TV is greatly reduced if I need to wait for it to cold-boot each time I want to use it!Â
Whenever I try to play Black Ops(in my windows partition) the sound comes out of the speakers even when my headphones are in. How do I fix this?
