Ok, so my MBP 13" is in it's bright orange hard case, and I wanted to get a snazzy (preferably neoprene) sleeve with handles to tote it around in, and wondering WHAT SIZE bag to get for it to fit in with the hard case. Do I get a bag made for the 15" even if it's a little big? Not really worried about protection since I do have the hard case, just transport.
View 1 RepliesI picked one up today for my 13in Macbook Pro and I'm a little angry that it isn't really big enough to fit the laptop and the charger at the same time without having a huge bulge poking out of one side of it. Most of the reviews online said it should be big enough but who really wants that? And beyond that point I don't really want the plug putting huge pressure on the macbook when they're both stuffed in there. Anyone owners of this I'm just curious to know how you handle this problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSoon i will be getting a Mac(i think) and was wondering about a case. Since i want a Macbook Pro with the Unibody Housing i want it to be safe. Now i can't decide if i want a case or a Sleeve. Now the Case might have heat issues even with the vents that are on the case. The sleeve won't have that issue but will it be more prone to scratching the Macbook it self? Or should i go no case and just sorta deal with the scratches. There is a Price difference between the Sleeve and the Case. About $20 Cdn more for the Case.

We are currently in the design, development and prototyping stages or creating sleeves specifically for the MacBook Pro line and what to know what exactly it is that you guys, as consumers are looking for.
One thing we're looking to do, is NOT utilize a zipper - or metal of any type. As users ourselves, we've experience scratched cases first hand, not traveling that route.
We're looking to launch, using some fantastic full-grain leathers that we've been fortunate enough to source given our vast experience in the footwear & apparel materials industry. I think you'd find the quality to equal that of some "designer" hand bag companies - with the added costs.
So.......lets have it.....what do you guys like.....and just as important - what do you not like?

I'm looking for a sleeve case that can take a few bumps, but smaller than a briefcase type bag.
I was just wondering whats the best case/sleeve to buy for a 13" MBP.
I want one that prevents scratches and dings but also keeps my MBP safe from water since ill be using this laptop for college and most likely will take it in a backpack soaking in rain.
I'm not sure what case to buy for my 13" Macbook Pro. I want to be able to hold a mouse, charger, itouch and possibly a CD holder. I would prefer something under $40 too.

The black speck satin case looks nice, do any of those types of 'cases' provide any protection or are they almost all for aesthetic use?

I'm going to be going to grad school in the Fall and I have to walk across campus several times a day. The only case I have found is the SF Waterfield sleevecase. I spoke with a rep. there and she told me that the bag is water resistant, but that water could still get into the opening, even with a flap. Any owners of the bag have any experience in the wet weather with this case? I really like the case, just don't want to risk my investment or my data.

I'm assuming most if not all the sleeve cases for the MBP are for the old model. Considering the new model is thinner and a tad bit wider, the sleeves currently available obviously wont suffice.

I was wanting to know how hard it is to change top and bottom case and keyboard area? I would like to know that if anything was to happen to my soon to have macbook I could change it. Also this on the older macbooks. And if I have Apple to change it how much would it cost? And yes I know that they should replace keyboard case area for free because of the defunct cracking issue.

So I'm going to use an incase hard case not for cosmetic protection for me, but for financial protection of my warranty.

I bought a uMBP17 and the Speck hard shell for it. I was surprised at how much heavier the machine becomes with the armor on. So I've noticed that the hinge does seem to stress a bit with the extra weight of the shell.
Have you guys noticed that ? Is this something that I should be concerned about ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an external hard drive, but it seems to be either corrupt or malfunctioning in some other way. When I plug it in it works fine for a while, but soon after I get a "Disk was not properly ejected" error.
If I try to unplug and plug the disk in again, Finder won't recognise it until I've rebooted my computer.
I can't be bothered rebooting all the time, so is there a process I could kill instead that would relaunch itself and start off "fresh"?
I have about 50 *.mp3's on my hard drive that have the file names in all upper case. When looking at them in itunes it drives me nuts....Is there a way to convert the uppercase file name to lowercase? I have googled but can't find anything. I do not want to do it manually, that would take a long time =( thanks, I'm crossing my fingers
View 11 Replies View RelatedHas Mavericks’ Mail program lost the ability to handle group email addresses? Since I switched to Mavericks, Mail does not handle Group Address emails correctly. Even though Mail Preferences are set so that individual email addresses in each group are not supposed to show, Mail does show the individual addresses rather than the Group address(s).
The only solution is to send out Group emails with my own address in the “To” line and all of the “Group” addresses placed in the “Bcc:” window of the email. Apparently the option to not have the addresses show when using group addresses in the "To:" line does not function in Mavericks.

Does anyone know if the PB 15.4 Aluminum case is exchangeable with the Macbook Pro 15.4 case? I have a 1.6Ghz Powerbook which has a few dents in the front but I don't see any of these cases for sale on Ebay, but I do see Macbook Pro cases. It's really a nasty cosmetic issue I'd like to resolve and then sell it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on restoring a Time Machine backup from Leopard to a clean installation of Snow Leopard. The only problem I'm facing is that the Leopard backup is on a case-sensitive drive (and the Snow Leopard drive is set up, by default, as case-ignorant).
I have scoured the Web the last two days and have not found a definitive answer to my question: Is there a way to transfer the data from the Time Machine backup on the case-sensitive drive to the case-ignorant Snow Leopard drive?
Yesterday I ran across a tutorial explaining how this might be accomplished using SuperDuper! but a commenter explained that Disk Utility could be used and was much easier.
I tried the Disk Utility method but it didn't work, and I ran out of time to give the SuperDuper! option a try. Does anyone know if it, or even Carbon Copy Cloner, might solve my problem?
