MacBook Pro :: Frozen Screen With Pink/Blue Lines?

My almost 3 year old MBP shows a full screen of artifacts like horizontal lines with blue and pink boxes. It did it while simply browsing the web. It had a message in the center of the screen that said to push the power button to power off in several languages.
I powered off the computer. Tried to restart it and on the start up screen the Apple appears in the center of the screen with the same pink and blue boxes in it and the spinning symbol below is stuck and the computer will not start up.
Any ideas on what my problem is? I have about 2 months of Apple Care left.
I am trying to get my MacBook LCD to work right. It happened because one time I was carefully wiping my MacBook screen with a little hand sanitizer and a paper towel. However, later my screen started to show a-lot of weird lines and eventually blue, pink and green tiny vertical lines but it is not completely renderd useless, it is just plain annoying and whenever I have an open window on the screen for a long time and I move it around eventually, it shows an imprint in the background into the screen and even when I restart, shutdown or use Windows in BootCamp it just shows up. Â

I have an early 2008 version of the 17" MacBook Pro. During the process of uploading photos to iPhoto, the screen froze and pink and green pixels appeared. I shut down by the off button and upon on turning it back on found the screen as shown below. The apple appears and then the clock spins for a moment then freezes. I cannot get any further.Â
I've tried booting in Safe Mode and other options I've read when trying to boot but to no avail.Â
Someone said I need to run the AHT but as this was purchased from a friend, I don't have the installation CD's. I've found a DMG file of the AHT but am completely at a loss as to what to do with this.Â
I have a G5 about 2 years old. Recently a pale pink vertical line appeared down the screen, another about 2 weeks later and today a third line appeared. They do not affect the screen's visibility, but I wander if anyone else has found a resolution to this minor problem (without having to go out and purchase a replacement.
I was on the computer when it froze on me then the lines popped up and the computer asked me to restart. When I did that, it just freezes on the start up screen now with the lines across it and will do nothing else.
The mail program froze and I forced quit and reset the pc. Now all it does is reboot on a blue screen and the mail keeps opening up. Im running the os x 10.6.8 software.
grey screen no apple followed by blue screen with vertical lines. Graphics and logic board replaced <6 months ago. What to do? I held down shift, it gets HOT HOT and makes noises. (for safety mode) followed by a blank grey screen and blue screen. Then tried the other way (I think it's command alt delete? I don't remember) and it turned from grey (no apple symbol) to blue blank. Then third time, grey followed by blue with vertical lines, not blocky clear lines that you can see if you are close to it.Â
I have a Macbook Pro 15" (mid 2010) 2.53GHz Interl Core i5 running OSX Lion 10.7.4. Generally the computer and screen are in good condition and have had no damage. The screen has Vertical blue lines and there is a tint of blue generally. The startup apple grey screen however is perfect, it is only when it enters the login screen that the lines appear. All the colours are off. Other than these lines the computer works perfectly Â
The computer was used yesterday (09 June 2012) without a problem for approx 1hour. It was then left for the day indoors on a desk out of direct sunlight. The computer was switched on later that evening and the problem started to appear I have already tried to reset the PRAM and SMC with no affect.Â
I also read that it may be a cable problem, however as the startup screen works perfectly i question this.
I have a late 2008 version of the 17" MacBook Pro. I've been using it today and it's been completely fine. that was up until I was uploading my recent holiday photos to iPhoto. I left it to upload and came to check on it after 5 minutes. I found the program had frozen and pink and green pixels were spotted all over the screen.Â
I turned the laptop off by the power button. When I started her up again I found the white screen with the pink and green pixels everywhere and apple logo appear. It starting booting and then just stopped. the screen froze and nothing was working. I've tried booting up in safe mode and again it just freezes. I've included a photo I've taken if the frozen screen.Â
I clicked on a link and received pink lines all over my screen, in the window, the desktop, everywhere. I rebooted the computer and it was all gone so I went back to the link, clicked on it, and pink lines appeared everywhere again. So I took screen shots of the open window with pink lines in it, closed the window and took a screen shot of the desktop that had pink lines all over it. I rebooted the computer all the pink lines were gone so I opened the screen shots and none of the pink lines were in the screen shots either. So I went back to the same link once again and I got pink lines everywhere.
My iMac G5 froze. I restarted it manually, but it kept freezing on a blue screen without loading the OS. It can start up fine in safe mode, but that's it! I've tried repairing permissions and zapping the PRAM. Finally I resorted to an Archive & Install. That didn't work so I did a clean install but that didn't help either. After having done everything under the sun to it to get it to work, it will still only start up in safe mode. I even tried starting up off each of my two external fire wire drives with no luck (it froze on the fire wire screen with both drives - a Maxtor and a Western Digital). I am thinking that something on the mother board has died so that normal booting is prevented but safe mode booting is allowed.
For the first time ever, my Titanium Powerbook won't load OSX. I was using Excel when the beach ball started spinning. I've had that happen, so I just went to force quit. It wouldn't force quit for me. So I let it sit a while and tried again. Again, it wouldn't force quit. So I tried to Restart the Mac. It restarted, but when it did, I don't see the OSX load screen. I get a blue screen with the spinning lines, but that's it.
My iMac (which was bought in september of 2006) fell around 2 months ago and cracked on the left side of the screen. It wasn't such a big problem until blue vertical lines began forming around the crack and now spreading. Now I don't know what to do, would it be cheaper to get it fixed at an Apple store or can I replace the screen, and if so where would I be able to buy an LCD 15" screen?
Over the past month I have encountered a number of bugs with Snow Leopard on my MacBook Pro (mid 2006). Ever once in a while, usually during high performance task (like watching flash or encoding with handbrake) the temperature of my cpu will spike to 85-90 degrees celsius and then the system freezes.
During this freeze, I can still move my mouse, but I am unable to click on anything on the dock or any program. Moving the mouse over the dock does not invoke the magnification either. I have to do a hard reset to fix the problem.
Also every once in a while, a long blue horizontal line will appear in on the screen. (sometimes their in iChat windows, sometimes safari, and sometimes the desktop as shown in the photo).
They started real small I thought it was just me then an hour later it expanded, 6 hours passed, it's a least 5 inches wide.. It started on the right, around where the time is shown.
I was browsing the internet on my '08 iMac when the system suddenly froze immediately followed by the screen turning to nothing but vertical lines. I fear this may be an issue with the graphics card, but would anyone be able to offer any further insight?
I have the MBP 12 low end from April 2010. Today i noticed some blue lines on my MacSafe Power Adapter. Its bought in a Danish Apple Retail Store. I�ve tried to take a picture but my camera cant focus on it The lines looks like humans veins. Its become very warm when i�m charge my MBP. Should i return it or what?
My late 2009 Macbook Pro started to have screen issues a couple weeks ago. Basically, the screen just goes pink as in the picture below. The laptop came with a dual GPU (GeForce 9400M & GeForce 9600M GT) and switching between them does not resolve the problem. I also tried re-calibrating the screen display, but to no avail. I tried googling the issue but nothing useful came out of that. I've also tried running the apple hardware test but it said everything is fine.Â
This issue has come out of nowhere (I haven't spilled anything on my laptop, nor have I dropped it...). At first, it appeared to go pink randomly, and go back to normal randomly. But now, it remains pink all the time. I would have taken it to an Apple Store if I could, unfortunately there's no such thing as an Apple Store in my country.So now I'm stuck with this annoying pink screen

I have a 2007 MacBookPro. shortly after installing Lion 10.7.3 and VectorWorks 2011 I started getting vertical blue and black lines across my screen on startup. They remain with in the apple while the computer boots and the everything freezes. I tried all of the usual fixes, recovery, safe boot, reset PRAM, battery, etc.When I tried to boot of a system disc I get a message sating that I need to restart my computer. Upon restart same problem occurs. 2 months ago I took the whole thing apart and cleaned out the guts. Reconnecting all cables back together, I came across, what I think is the camera cable. Since my camera has been erratic, i decided to test the problem with it connected and then disconnected. Connected same problem. Once i unplugged the camera everything went back to normal, until now. The same problem returned. I cleaned out the guts again. This time I unplugged the hard drive to try and boot off the C drive, but still get the same problem. This morning It decided to boot up. I was able to copy my essential files onto an external drive.
I have iMac 27 and screen problem on start up i have blue vertical lines, when it start i have a lot of blue dots and nothing else. when I connect outside monitor its showing the same.
Just installed lion and still the same problem when it starts blue dots, when startup in safe mode loads of blue lines and dots on the screen.
while i am using my macbook the screen will suddenly go blue and flash between different blue colors like it is trying to work. sometimes it comes back on but most of the time it stays like that. I have to force shut down with the button and then restart...about half the time it is still flashing blue after the restart and if it does work, it goes blue eventually.
dont know if its a problem with the screen or what because the computer continues to work...if there is a movie on, you can here it in the background and the screen just flashes.
My A1226 is really giving me fits. It will display persistent vertical pink and green pixel column patterns in windows or over the entire screen at start up. I have twice performed the "PRAM Re-set" with Command-Option-P-R depressed with pwer on and that has worked. But tonight it came back and I had to do it a third time. Is this a potential or probable power/battery problem? I hope someone here is familiar with this!
My iMac boots up (OSX 10.4) and when the desktop is about to appear the little spinning wheel start to get "fuzzy" (yes only the wheel), then when it's time for the desktop to appear the entire screen goes blue with horizontal lines across it. I can see nothing on the screen at all except that mess.
Weird thing is, if I boot using the install disc, everything is fine. he display never screws up. So I am guessing some file or something is corrupted in OSX?
I was going to do a restore, but since there have been some updates since I got it, I am worried about that whole process and not being able to get to my pictures and what not on the HD. The procedure where I can archive the current OS and reinstall the original seems like my next step.
I've had the new macbook air just two days now. Turned it on this morning, used it for like 5 minutes and the screen just started flickering, and the whole machine just froze on me! Had to do a system reset, but I'm a little concerned after spending over a grand on this macbook! Has anyone else experienced this? I'm actually thinking about returning the machine..
I'm new to this forum and sensed that maybe someone could give me an advice about my damaged LCD screen of my old iBook.
A few days ago I opened my iBook and the screen suddenly couldn't portrait any white color properly. Everything was flickering and moving. Darker areas have a green flickering as well. I'm not a absolute tech expert, but I tried already a few things. I hooked it up to an external monitor and the picture was fine! So it must be hardware related right?
Now the weird thing. Sometimes the panel suddenly works properly for a few hours. I don't know what could trigger it, I tried everything. What should I do? I took some pictures and uploaded them to Flickr:
I know the machine is old, but I originally planned to get a new MBP this summer. I can't afford a new machine right now and the current MBP are just overpriced compared to similar old products on the market. I have to be mobile, so I need a laptop.
