Sep 28, 2010I am trying to enable screen Sharing between my tow Macs. my iMac and my Macbook. i see the "share Screen" button when i click on my imac/macbook in finder on the left side corner. I am asked for a password and a username... what username and password is it asking for? i typed in my macbook's login name and password, imac's login and password, and my e-mail and password (bassically the username for my internet provider)i need help, i googled this but i can't find the answer to my question. i Youtubed this but all i got was a lot of info on what screensharing is, i know what it is, i want to be able to use it....

Mar 17, 2012how to enable Web Sharing, but I want to make it so that only certain people can access the shared directory. How can I make it so that users can get a password prompt and then see ALL files in my Users>myname>Sites folder? I see several complicated methods on the web on how to enable a password prompt for users coming to look at a file, but is there somewhere a simpler way to make this password-protected? BTW, I started the process, and was able to open httpd.conf using terminal, but, after I changed AllowOverride None to AllowOverride All, I was not able to save the file, even though I have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, which supposedly allows changes to httpd.conf.Â

ITunes :: Music Sharing Vs Home Sharing?
Jul 4, 2012I am trying to set up my home network to have the iMac share its' media library via iTunes, and access that media on other devices in the home. I would like to use iTunes Music Sharing, which is a very simple setup on the iMac and doesn't require any Apple ID to be entered on the devices accessing the shared library. However, I have found that the iPhone and iPad will not even see the shared media library when the iMac is set up to share its' library.Â
Only when I enable Home Sharing on the iMac, and configure Home Sharing on the iPhone and iPad, do I see the shared library available on those devices.Â
I would like to allow other family members in the household to access the shared media library without requiring them to have my Apple ID and password. iTunes Music Sharing is supposed to allow this.Â
Does iTunes Music Sharing not work when trying to share to an iPhone or iPad?Â

Jun 25, 2009So i've had my iPhone 2G for a few years now and recently the WiFi has stopped working. Im getting it replaced on the 9th of July so thats not the problem. The problem is I would like to use the internet from my MBP through my USB cable to my iPhone. Its on 3.0 and I added the ethernet port in Network Prefs and used sharing prefs to share that port.

Nov 18, 2010So I have the 2010 White Unibody 2.4Ghz Macbook and the airport works perfectly fine whether I am at home, the library, school, etc. The problem I am having with it is when I am at home and using the airport, and my iPhone is also connected to the same network, the wifi will work on my iPhone but will stop working on my Macbook. It still shows I am connected but it will not connect to any webpages. As soon as I turn off the Wifi on my iPhone and refresh the page on my Macbook, it will load. Is there anything I can do to fix this. By the way, My Toshiba laptop has no problem with using Wifi the same time my iPhone is connected to it, my Macbook is the only one having problems.

I'm catching on quickly however I've run into a snag with file sharing between my other Apple devices. How can I pair and send files between my MBA and iPhone 5s? I've made the change in system preferences to allow file sharing, yet still pops up on my iPhone that my MBA doesn't support this.Â
Also I've enabled Airdrop on both devices yet I can't seem to get that to work as well. I would love to be able to easily send pictures or documents from my MBA to my iPhone 5s via Airdrop and vice versa.Â
