MacBook Pro :: Cursor Keeps Scrolling From Bottom Of Menus To Top

Jun 25, 2014

This happens on-and-off... if I click on a drop-down menu, or if I'm in a browser page, and try to scroll down, the page will automatically scroll back to the top, or if I'm in a menu (for example the Applications menu) and try to click on the Utilities folder, I'm not able to because the cursor starts scrolling back to the top. It's frustrating of course, and happens sporadically. I've done disc verify permissions, re-set pram. This all started awhile back when I found I had just about filled up the harddrive. I took over 100gigs worth of movies etc. and moved them to an external HD, hoping this would clear up the problem, but it is persisting. What can I do, short of re-installing the OS?

OS X :: Cursor Moves To Yes On Pop Up Menus

Mar 21, 2010

Every time a menu pops up asking me to choose yes or no, the mouse automatically moves to the yes like it's ready for me to click. I'm pretty sure I set it to do this a while ago, but I forgot how to change it back. It's late, I'm frustrated, and this is bothering me. A few searches didn't get me anywhere. Anyone know what I'm talking about and/or how to change it back?

OS X :: MBP Cursor Speed And Scrolling Keys

Oct 5, 2009

I got a 13" MBP09, my first mac, a couple of days back. The experience has so far been exemplary, but there are few PC stuff I'm used to, like the End/Home/Pg.Up/Pg.Dn functionality, Shift+Arrow keys to select, really useful while working on Word Processing apps. What are the Mac equivalents of these? Also, how do I increase the speed at which the cursor moves across a line? It's really slow.

Windows On Mac :: Virtual Box - Move From 7 Back To Osx And Drag Cursor Down Through Bottom

Dec 3, 2010

I have managed to install virtualbox on my mba 11.6 with win 7 as the guest.

1. The only way I can move from win 7 back to osx is to hold esc and drag the cursor down through the bottom of the win 7 window. Is this how its supposed to work?
2. I have set up a shared folder on osx and set it up on virtualbox but cannot mount it as instructed through the command menu.
3. Virtualbox doesn't recognise my pen drive but osx does.
4. Would it be advantageous to use win 7 lite as I only have 160 hd?

Excuse my asking seemingly simple tasks but I'm struggling with it, and cannot put anything on win 7 until I master it.

MacBook Air :: IStat Menus Are Wrong?

Oct 25, 2009

Just a strange occurrence this evening: I just watched a DVD on superdrive: when it finished, I ejected it and glanced at my Finder menu bar. IStat Menus gave me a temp of 135 and rising (went as high as 140 degrees a few minutes after ejecting and shutting down DVD Player). But the fans aren't on at all--never came on, as far as I can tell--and the MBA feels cool to the touch. Now it's maybe 20 minutes later and iStat reads temps as still at 115 degrees. But my laptop feels totally cool to the touch. I restarted, hoping to reset iStat, but no change. Any idea as to what's going on?

MacBook Air :: Menus Absolutely Opaque Because Of OS Revisions?

Jan 29, 2009

Anyone else noticed on their air that menus are completely opaque. I know more recent OS revisions toned down the translucency slightly, but this is absolutely totally opaque. It is also not affected by whether or not the menu *bar* is translucent. Nor does it seem to be just a 10.5.6 thing - a Macbook sitting next to it with the same OS revision still has noticeably translucent menus. Is this just me or is it general? I could find elsewhere was people either complaining about *less* translucent menus in particular OS updates, which this isn't, or people misunderstanding and thinking the OP meant the menu *bar*, which I don't.

MacBook :: Don't Like Two Finger Scrolling On MB?

Jun 5, 2009

Problem I have, on my last generation macbook, I would rest one finger on the track pad, and just scroll with the other one, and it would scroll down the whole screen. Now with the new macbook, I actually have to scroll with both fingers for it to actually work. Also can't get used to the two button tap, I keep doing it but mistake, mostly to the huge trackpad and me resting my fingers on it.

Anyone had this similar problems? I know it's nitpicking but I miss my old trackpad.

I have a 3 month old MacBook Pro 13inch, whenever I 2 finger scroll on webpages in chrome or safari there is a scratching sound which comes from the top left of the mac. When browsing using Firefox (Haven't tried other browsers) and using the two finger gesture to scroll, it will stop scrolling, won't go down or up, and the only way to get it unstuck is to wiggle the page slider and then it will work again. Is this a Firefox, OSX, or hardware issue and is there a fix to it?

MacBook Pro :: Scrolling Moves Display More Than Mouse?

Sep 5, 2010

My wife's cat walked over her Macbook keyboard. Thereafter, when she uses the trackpad to try to move the cursor, the display moves in response, and the cursor sometimes moves, stutters, delays. Usually, both move.

So my guess is the cat hit some odd combination of keys changing some preference.

We could not find anything in System Preferences/trackpad, or searching the forums here (not that i know which words to use).

MacBook Pro :: How To Enable Trackpad Momentum Scrolling

Jun 20, 2010

I was playing around with the newest Mac's today at a Best Buy and noticed that they have a feature called "momentum scrolling" under their trackpad preferences.

I have the older 13 inch Macbook Pro's with the glass trackpad, and it appears that feature is not there in system preferences. However, I can't imagine that the slightly older trackpads are not capable of momentum scrolling in Snow Leopard.

Does anyone know of a way to enable momentum scrolling for the previous gen Macbook Pro?
