Everytime I try to download software that my retina macbook needs, it will crash during download. Says download was corrupt. Getting very upset. The update said mid2012 macbook update and has two updates for my printer. None will work. My macbook pro is 1 day old.

There seems to be a pattern with major updates from Apple and the ability of the servers providing the content - be it iTunes or iOS or Mac OS updates - I have been unable to download successfully the larger updates but smaller (22MB for AirPort Utility) work fine. The annoying thing is that in almost all cases the error doesn't occur until after the download is complete - meaning it takes up all the time and bandwidth etc with no result and you have to start all over again.
This has happened to enough people and with enough different software releases that I posit that it is not the result of any particular configuration of networking and or hardware and or firmware and or OS version etc - but that the it is a systemic issue on the provider side of things.
Perhaps they (Apple's content providers) should stagger access or something - by time zone - or Apple should release updates over the course of a week - not all on the same day. I would much rather get a message that the server is busy try agian later - or have one update a day - and have it work on the first try - that to waste time retrying the same downloads over and over again.

I am trying to run updates on my MacBook Air (Mac OS X Update/iTunes/AirPort Utliity) but after at least five attempts now I am getting the same error message:

After loading recent updates when I try to access my Adwords account the browser constantly loads then crashes with a message Apples been advised. I will assume they will respond when they get around to it. I haven't loaded another browser yet wonder should I wait for a miracle or any suggestion for browser?

When I check for software updates only itunes and random other updates show up but not security updates or safari update. When i check installed updates I realized my last security update was 2011-004 and I still have safari 5.0.6.

I called Apple and they told me to try something in Disk Utility with "verify disk" and it didn't work still and then they sent me something about trying to Archive and Installing but it seems really complicated. A couple of days ago I checked for updates for my Lion - I was in particular looking for the Java update to fix the recently reported security issue - and selected 2 items including the Java update for downloading. I checked the size of the items and they added up to be less than 200MB in total. But as soon as the downloading started, the total size suddenly became 1.4G!!! There was no obvious way for me to check exactly what I was downloading and de-select any unwanted updates. I didn't want to stop the downloading because I did want to make sure I have the Java update.

I have the developers iOS 6 Beta on my iPhone 4s. I need the latest iTunes 10.6.3 to sync with iTunes. I went to www.itunes.com as it told me to and I went to the downloads page. Usually you enter your email and click the download button. My problem is there is is no download button or email box! I need to download the latest iTunes and I can't. On my MAC Safari is crashing every time I try opening a file I've received vie email (Gmail or Hotmail) whether photo, pdf, word anything really, I click on it and a few seconds later safari shuts down and I get the "safari has quit unexpectedly" message.Its also crashing As soon as I try downloading Google chrome (the moment I click download).I've tried resetting safari, and even choosing the older version on the drop down menu in preferences but that made no difference.
View 13 Replies View Relatedi have a G4, serial number qt21106cl3v. i just installed os x 10.2.3. i cant get on fb or any site that uses flash. it says for me to download shockwave. ive tried and it wont install. i tried to download a new browser, like firefox, or another version of safari and i have no luck.
i cant decide whether its a virus or what. i just got the computer from a yard sale and its in excellent condition. i had to reinstall os x though cuz it had no os. any ideas?? you can find additional info by searching for specs through the serial. i have no prior knowledge of macs and am trying to learn quickly.
also, as in the heading, safari keeps crashing when i try to download any kind of new browser, and the auto updates arent working either.
So a while back I had final cut pro installed, and eventually deleted cause I no longer needed it. I used AppCleaner when removing to try and make sure I got it all.
Well every time I do a software update it wants to install "Pro Applications Update" and "Prokit Updates" Which are updates for final cut pro and its related apps.
Any idea how I can stop it from wanting me to install these updates for something I no longer have?
