I've got a couple of older desktop Macs (G-4) and need to access the hard drive through my new MacBook Pro. These older Macs use a serial connection, is there an adapter that I can use to hook them up to my laptop via USB?

Im just wondering if anyone could enlighten me on hooking my macbook (white) up to an older TV. The only ports i have are scart and composite (red, yellow, white).What cables would i need etc.

I am having problems displaying my presentation through the projector system.
I have the DVI connector for the macbook 08, connected to "InFocus" projector, I setup the display monitor, turned on the mirroring and I just get my laptop screen to display.
I have a Dell Bluetooth keyboard RT7D40 and would like to use it with a MacBook Pro laptop. I tried the Bluetooth connect wizard on the Mac and it could not locate the Keyboard. Is there anything else I could try? Is there an USB adpater for the Mac so that it will locate the keyboard.

Found out I need a new monitor, need one that can give me accurate color for printed photos. I am struggling with buying a Imac. Not sure I will like the glossy screen and printing issues? I like just having the one machine, easy to keep everything up to date, back up,, etc. Just wondering if others like using their laptop as a desktop too.?

I am a late 2006 macbook pro 17" with broken LCD screen casing. For now i used superglue to put it back together, but if the computer gets hot i think the superglue will melt and cause problems.i have been told its impossible to find a replacement screen for this model cheap enough to make it worthy of repair.I am thinking of turning it into a desktop by getting an external monitor. Can I remove the LCD screen entirely off the macbook pro so it's just the body, and then connect it to a new monitor? this way i can still use the keyboard/mouse, and not have to worry about the existing screen and superglue, melting.

On my mac, to connect to any of my windows computers, I used to go to the "Go" menu and then select "Connect to Server". From there I would type in smb://172.19.2.6 and then "connect" and away I would go. I'd get the good old list of network shares to mount. Now when I select the smb://172.19.2.6, "connect", I get an error. Nothing network wise has changed. I rebooted my WAP and reset my net connection and everything else. And networking works fine on the PC side.

Currently before I leave the desktop I put a copy of my current work on my TimeCapsule then pull it down to the laptop, work then visa versa. I would like my work folders, photos, and music to be on both machines. I see programs like Drop Box and Chronosyc, the language on the Chrnosync website make is appear fairly complicated, can I ask if anyone might spare a moment to cover their expieriences of them or any other setups?

Also I'm trying to use Chicken of the VNC to play with my JB'd iPod and that just beachballs forever and I have to force quit. I've looked through my firewall settings and tried other VNC clients on my laptop but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a fix or do I have to wait for redevelopment of all of my apps?

My work laptop has joint to the company domain and has Group Policy applied. However I made sure all the remote desktop firewall rules are open and I still can't remote into it. Work laptop is running Win7. My dad's pc is also a Win7 and I can remote into just fine.

I bought the appropriate vga adapter and cable, but once connected, I only see my desktop picture on the tv screen-- none of the folders on my desktop, and doesn't pull up my internet screens either. Do I need to click something to go into "tv mode"? I was hoping to play dvds from my laptop, or even my netflix play on demand movies.

From within my local wireless network, I would like to be able to access individual space's screens from my laptop. Or at the very least, be able to easily work on a certain app/window on my desktop from my laptop.
I love my macbook pro - absolutely LOVE osx. But I am going to be building a windows desktop soon for gaming, photoshop, animation, etc. Can't afford a Mac Pro, so I don't have too much of an option. I'm sort of looking into running a hackintosh but I won't bring that up here b/c my guess is that we're not allowed to discuss it?Basically I want to know what my options are for using a Windows box for games and intensive tasks while using the Macbook Pro for all the other stuff (web browsing, ilife, etc.)So My options that I was considering were these:

Here's the situation: I would like to have a setup where my Macbook Pro is completely in sync with my Mac Mini. I put a new drive in the G5 & installed OS 10.5 (the G4 lap runs 10.4) and installed the apps from the original discs onto the new G5 drive. However, I am missing my Photoshop CS2 disc. My question is, how do I transfer Photoshop CS 2 from my laptop to the new G5 drive? I don't want to buy another $200 CS2 app.

I'm wondering if it's possible to drag and drop PROGRAMS (self contained ones are obvious, but I'm talking programs like Creative Suite 4) over to my new computer? I'm guessing that certain programs that require registration will need the registrations to be re-entered? What I would like to do is to use my license for software I use on both the laptop & my machine, can I duplicate the user or migrate the user to the laptop & sync the info when in the same wifi location of my iMac.
