View 1 Replieswhen viewing some 720p HD YouTube videos in full screen mode. The video will start off fine, but then the video will start to develop an annoying audio lag after around 20 seconds (if the video has options for either 720p or 1080p, the 720p will lag and the 1080p will play fine). I know it isn't the video, because when it starts to lag, I can click on the progress bar to around where the video is currently at, and the video will refresh I guess, and the audio and video will be in sync again (for a little while at least).
View 12 Replies View Relatedwas wondering if when your watching a youtube video or anything that makes the nvidia 330m kick in do you experience a lag when hitting the full screen button? I have the graphics switcher/indicator program installed and whenever I go to full screen it goes from intel to nvidia and there is a good 1-2 second delay from clicking the button to going to full screen. If I force 330m to be on at all times the lag goes away. This seem normal? You would think Apple would have ironed out this kink. It makes my computer go from feeling snappy to slow when my netbook can full screen faster.
View 1 Replies View Relatedim having a problem, every time i go to youtube and certain websites and click full screen my menu bar on top doesnt auto hide idk if the new safari (latest version) or what is it is really annnoying i wonder if there is anything i could do to fix this either on youtube or safari idk. is it my os that is messed up or what is it,
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have this problem for a while, when trying to play videos on youtube or in facebook, I cannot put them on full screen, a white page appears, and some times they simple don´t play at all.
I am running ios 10.7.3 Lion in a iMac 2.7 i5.
I have a new Mini, 2.0ghz, 4gb Mushkin RAM upgrade. When I try to stream video from YouTube at fullscreen on my 22" display it will play fine for about 10-15 seconds but will then lock up. If I do command option esc. for a Force quit, the video kicks back out of fullscreen to a regular web browser, and immediately continues from where it locked up just fine. This happens in both FF and Safari. Reboot does not solve the issue.

I am unable to achieve full-screen resolution and downloaded SwitchResX to manually adjust the display. Does anyone know the timing parameters for the Sony or how to achieve full-screen resoltuion?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am about to pull the trigger on either a booq Taipan Skin S or the Vyper XS2. I have an Aluminum 2.4 Macbook. I usually sleep my MB overnight and when I'm not using it, I usually shut it down about twice a week, but in the mean time it sleeps. Can the MB overheat when it's sleeping in its sleeve?
The only reason I ask that question is because there was a disclaimer on the Booq Vyper XS2 page;
Quote:
Note: The surface of the MacBook is sensitive and discolors easily. In special cases, when the white MacBook has been left running for an extended time in the Vyper XS2, discoloration can occur. Apple expressly advises that you work on a surface with adequate airflow because the MacBook gets very warm during normal use. When warm, avoid working on dyed surfaces, because of potential discoloration of the lower surface of the MacBook. We do not take responsibility for potential discoloration of your MacBook.
I think they mean specifically for the old white and black MBs, but I was just curious. Has anyone had experience or heard of MBs overheating while sleeping in their sleeves?
And besides that, does anyone have experiences with either of these sleeves? I've heard good things. I'll put it in my backpack, so I'm deciding whether or not the extra $10 is worth it for the Vyper over the Taipan.
Some flash videos and particular sites cause my MBA to overheat and results in choppy playback, but for the most part the temp isn't a problem. Generally the temp is just fine, but as I progress through the video it gets more and more choppy. Eventually it's unwatchable. It doesn't matter how long I leave the MBA to rest/cool (minutes or hours) the playback is just as choppy when I restart.
I'm confused because I thought the playback issue was related to heat
Any ideas? My apologies if I've missed the answer in another thread.
So I got an 07' MBP and I need to overheat, my warranty is up in a month and the store tried screwing me out of a replacement. So I need to make it look legit. So, what kinds of applications will push my mac to overheating?
View 24 Replies View RelatedWhen I have my brightness at a certain setting and then start playing a game, the brightness jumps to full. When I then press the button for less brightness, it jumps immediately to the setting it was originally.
This also happens whenever I do alt+tab to return to the desktop. So it appears it happens when I do something that requires to switch to full screen mode cause it also happens with other programs.
At normal use, surfing, office,... this problem does not occur. And also it doesn't happen under OS X
Still have 7 of 80 gig available, but the entire bottom of the shell gets very hot and the processing slows to a crawl.Â

I bought my MacBook Pro 13" in late December 2011,last month I noticed that my mac has an overheat problem, first I tought it was because I was using Photoshop all the time, so the battery went fully uncharged in like 1 hour or so, and it was hot that it burns... So I closed all the apps, thinking that maybe that will solve the problem, but no! My battery just don't last 1 hour, I go to tech support and they said my mac was ok, everything works fine... But I don't believe them...

first I know this isn't a Linux form, and there is not a linux forum, but thought this would be the best place to put this, because I supose it applies to windows as well.
Anyway, I have a CD rev A Macbook, that I just installed Ubuntu with. I love it, but I am afraid one day it will overheat and cause my processor to melt. Is that possible? I have heard that if it gets to hot, that the thing will just shut off, but I don't want to take any chances.
So I have a DYNEX 21 inch HD TV conected up to my MBP via the VGA connection route. My problem is that when I want a program (or more specifically in this case a game) to go into fullscreen mode it automatically goes to my primary monitor and turns the other screen black. I know I can switch the primary monitor from my actual laptop screen to the TV however I just want the game to be full screen on the TV while still having access to my dock and everything on my laptop.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 15" MacBook Pro with a 20" ACD. Whenever I full screen view something, like say with VLC or even a web browser video, I lose functionality on the other screen. It never really bothered me until I realized I needed the multi-tasking. Is there anyway to keep functionality on either screen when the other is in fullscreen mode?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to a Macbook Pro 15" with a mini displayport, and I decided I would share my LCD monitor with my windows box. The desktop box is connected with DVI and I have connected my Macbook through an HDMI adaptor from Moshi. Everything works very well, and I'm pleased with the quality of the output, but I'm having trouble with a screen flicker in full screen games.
When I select full 1080p (1900x1080) in any full screen game, the screen "shudders." It does not occur on the OS X desktop, and I can only explain it as a shudder. Lines and text shift perceptively left and right, and the game is unplayable. I have experienced this problem in Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft, and Half Life: Episode 2 so far.
Could the problem be with my monitor and the way it handles an HDMI signal? The Macbook is flawless otherwise, with no other issues of any kind. The "shudder" only occurs during full screen games set to 1900x1080. Lower resolutions are not effected and work fine...
I'm stumped.
Edit: I should add that I have no other 1080p capable devices to test the output with.
I recently had to erase and install Leopard. I then restored everything from my time-machine backup. The weird thing is, before, when watching streaming videos from the internet, the screen stayed at the same brightness, regardless of whether there was any mouse movement, or touching the keyboard, or anything. Now, if I don't do anything, the computer dims the screen, as if i wasn't watching a video.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a 24" dell monitor to use with my macbook Pro. My Mac does not give me the option of selecting the screen resolution that the Dell monitor says it has (1920x1080). It only allows for 1600x900 at max. This has the effect of the screen not stretching to the full size of the screen.

A couple days ago my mac book pro (with snow leopard) stopped allowing me to play videos. An embedded video in an article comes up as all black or missing altogether (a large white space in the article). If I go to YouTube, the "screen" is black.

I was watching YouTube on my Mac book Air. I paused it and closed the laptop. When I opened it and tried to turn it on, it shows a blank screen. But when I press esc, I can barely see a very very very faint login page with the box asking for my password. When I type my password, it logs in and I can play the YouTube and hear everything and all. But my screen is just black. My keyboard lights doesn't light up either. I've tried everything.

Since day one, whenever I tried opening a fullscreen window whether it be Vimeo or Youtube, there is a pause of hesitation where the screen turns blank white for a second or 2 before playing the video. It's sort of annoying but is it just my computer is it like that for every mbp? #2 Whenever I try clicking on anything whether it be the maxmize, minimize, close button or dragging items around with the trackpad held down, 3 out of 5 times, it'll not respond. It was the case with my logitech optical mouse and when i'm using the track pad sometimes. Sorry for the terribly crappy video, but the part towards the end where i'm showing myself clicking is when i'm trying to close the window and its not responding to my click. Again, this is the case with both when i'm using a usb powered mouse and my trackpad. [URL]
