I accidentally double-clicked on a file named "Domain" which was really a backup file of my Site. My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which i have made many changes. Now when I open iWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto iWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto iweb?
I haven't setup time machine, I publish using Easy iWeb Publisher, I don't have have a Mobileme account
Here's my situation:I created a site using iWeb '08. Many months passed and I wasn't doing anything with that particular site any longer, so I nuked the pages within iWeb and have since worked on new projects. Now I need to do some work on that old site again.I have all of the created content in a folder that had been stored on my server, but I have nary a clue how to get it all back into iWeb again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that iWeb doesn't publish my site the way it is shown in iWeb. I made some modifications to my site in iWeb (put some picture frames on my site, lines) but when I publish to a folder and then to a different domain, my site won't look nothing at all with the one I have created in iWeb. I checked my site with Firefox and Safari and the lines or the picture frames disappeared or don't appear as they should.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLast Thursday, i shut my MBP down and gave it to a friend to look after while I went on a driving lesson, OS X has a password so he couldn't have got in, but when i turned it back on that afternoon, some of my apps were missing, such as Address Book, iCal, iChat, iSync, Safari and a few others I still haven't noticed. I have been able to re-install the apps, but why did it happen in the first place?!?!
Early '08 Macbook Pro 2.5GHz version
EDIT: I haven't been able to re-install iSync, it isn't available on Apple's website for download, and other sites want me to pay. It isn't a re-install option when i put the Mac OS X Install Disc 1 in. Any help in re-installing iSync would be very helpful.
My problem began when I was using Skype on my PowerBook G4 Intel, running on Tiger. First my profile photo and mood message disappeared, and I was appearing to my friend as "offline". I quitted out and then logged back in, but the information had already been lost. So I thought I'd Restart my computer.
After logging in, I noticed that all of my installed applications had disappeared from my dock, and it looks as though the dock went back to default settings.
1) Is it simply a matter of creating new icons in the dock? Or is this a symptom of a deeper problem?
2) I don't have my OS X install disk with me, because I left it in Thailand, where I'd purchased my computer, but I do have a friend with a MacBook Pro. Can I run Disk Utility to try and repair the disk from my friend's laptop?
3) Could this problem have been caused by Skype? By the way, Skype was set to NOT automatically open at my User Log-In, but for some reason, after I restarted my computer, it's been launching after I Log-In.

View 20 Replies View RelatedOk. So I'm trying to recover my files from an old powerbook harddrive. I have it hooked up to my macbook pro via a usb harddrive enclosure. Everything looks like it shows up, but I can't find my personal files. The drive was totally full, and when I click on info it reads that there is 55 gb used. But when I look at it in finder and use command-j and select "calculate all sizes" there is only 5 gb accounted for.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLong story short. Don't try to reformat your Mac when you are drunk, and accidentally delete your external drive with your time machine backup! I have my website published to my webhosting.. I downloaded the contents back to a folder. How do I import that website back into iWeb app to continue working on it... I tried to find the root folder to where iWeb stores your saved site.. But cant seem to find it!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had an app called Total Finder installed, they recently did an update, which caused me to have sidebar problems. I have since deleted this app, because I couldn't work without my sidebar.
After deleting the app, and re-launching finder, I now have no sidebar, no options, search box or back buttons in my finder window, and my folders open in new windows when the 'always open folders in new windows' box is unticked.
How do I get it back? Tonight my finder sidebar has disappeared and I can't work out how to get it back. When I open Finder there is no side bar showing my HD, Apps, Docs, Movies, etc. Don't know where it's gone or how to get it back.

Looked at my ITunes library last week to try and make a new playlist but all my years of music/videos etc has disappeared without me doing anything? I have had very bad luck with Time Machine as well and realised not long ago that for 4 years it has only been backing up 'Desktop' and not the whole computer. I backed up all my photos and docs on various DVD's and CD's once I realised but I cant see that I backed up my Itunes library. I am only hoping that on the 'Desktop' external hard drive back ups that I can find it again? If it is on there, how do I get it off as I have heard that you can not retrieve certain items from an external hard drive especially with Time machine although I have never needed to before. Do you think all my songs etc have gone forever now?

Just got a MB-Air. I want to migrate some Apps from my back-ups which are on an external drive. My ext. drive has USB connectors and connected the USB into MB-Air USB.
How do I migrate my back-ups to a MB-Air? The disk doesn't show up only the Macintosch HD icon following the steps.
My MBP needed a new HDD, so I did a TM back-up, took it to Apple and they did the business so I reinstalled the OS and restored from TM.
Six weeks on I've opened iWeb and my website isn't there. How can I restore it (and why didn't TM do it?)?

I made a misstake. I was testing out parental controls and it prompted me to create an administrator account and put my account under parental controls. When I did that and applied restrictions to my account i set it so that only accepted sites (ones allowed by the administerator and in the bookmarks bar) could be visit.
After a few days I went back and deled the administrator and got rid of parental controls but now all my bookmarks and folders are gone.
Is there a way I can get all my bookmarks back? (I don't have a time machine hooked up, but I am running OSX 10.7 Lion)
