Will I get audio and video from my MacBook on TV by connecting mini DVI to DVI adaptor to DVI to HDMI cable then to HDMI input on back of Sony SXRD TV. I was told I could use the mini display to DVI adaptor but that did not work.
I have a Macbook Unibody (late 08) with the mini displayport. I want to hook it up to my Sony Bravia (KDL-40V3000). Since the HDMI ports are all used up, the only ports available are the VGA, and Component.
My questions are pretty basic: What is my best option to hook it up, giving me the highest resolution (the TV says it does 1920 x 1080). Will both VGA and Component do that?
Also, I do already have the mini displayport to DVI adapter for another monitor I use, so I could get a DVI->VGA adapter I think. But if that's going to degrade the video, or whatnot, I don't mind getting a different adapter for this project.
I'm trying to hook a MacBook Pro to an older Sony TV that has an s-video or composite video port available. I prefer the s-video because the quality will be better while playing movies. On my older MacBook Pro I use a DVI to Video adapter that apple produces. With the new MacBook Pro's apple doesn't make a mini displayport to video adapter. What do you recommend I do?
We've been talking about this new behemoth from Sony in the Macbook Air forums as it's the same weight as an MBA (it's a premium ultraportable!) but the specs on it are so phenomenal that it'll surely take some beating even from an MBP update.Design: Aluminium + Carbon FiberWeight: 3.07lbs or 3.3lbs (depending on which Sony website you visit)Screen: 13.1", 1920 x 1080 Resolution CPU: Core i7-620M. 2.66GHz, 3.33GHz Turbo. 35W TDP. 4MB L2 CacheRAM: 8GB DDR3 SDD: 512GB (Raid 0 available)Graphics: Nvidia 330M GT 1GB GDDR3 and Intel HD integrated - switchable
I have a Macbook and I want to hook it up to my RCA flat screen TV. I have seen people hook up their computers to TVs before so I know it is possible, but I have no idea how to do it. If you could tell me how to do it step by step, I am electronics retarded so I need all the details.
I have an older macbook white (got it summer of 2009) that i want to hook up to a tv. I'm not sure what cord I need because the port is not a dvi one or vga. I've attached a picture of the port (it's the one between the ethernet and firewire). I'd like to hook it up to my tv's vga port or hdmi.
This is my first post here at MacRumors.com and I'm quite happy to be here posting as it's a good sign for myself and Apple. I am a Windows user for 15 years and Apple really has come so far in recent years that it is maybe time for change. There are a few problems and I'd like if you have the time to give your opinion:In recent months and especially during the time of the latest MacBook Pro I was pretty impressed and tempted to buy a MBP 17" to upgrade my 2007 Sony 15" Core2Duo Vaio. The time has come for an upgrade in April 2010 as I simply cannot wait any longer, I have become to involved in following stories here at MacRumors and even looking at Sony's offerings.
I have the original version of the Macbook Air, the one with the micro DVI port not the mini display port. I would like to hook the Macbook Air up to my 50" HDTV. I have the micro DVI-DVI adaptor that came with the Macbook Air. I want to get a DVI to HDMI cable.
I have the MacBook with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M. I want to hookup two monitors. I know I have to buy the triplehead2go or the dualhead2go. But does anyone know if it supports 2x 1920x1200 resolution with mini DVI? The mac mini with the same graphics card but with mini display port does support it.
I am trying to hook up a Mac book Pro purchased in Sept to a Smssung LCD TV purchased in Sept. I fet the computer display onthe TV but no sound. I have no sound-cables but apparently the newer Prod do not need them? The one lead goes from the Mac to the HDMI 1.
hey guys i am running duals right now i was wondering if it was possible to use 2 external monitors? what would that entail me getting? a dvi splitter?
Ok so I am just wondering exactly what cables i need to hook my macbook up to my tv. I have a vizio vw32l and I want to use the vga cable. I know i need to get the mini displayport to vga adapter for my 13 in mb aluminum, but I am unsure of what vga cable to get. Are there different types of vga cables? Which exact one do i need? Also, i need one that is 10 feet long.
I was wondering what type of cable I need if I want to hook my Mac Book Pro (the new one, 15" 2.53GHZ) to my new LG HDTV coming in tomorrow, I've never had a HDTV before and I really want to use Netflix streaming to hook up to the TV or DVD Blu Ray player which is a LG too. I couldn't afford the high dollar wireless TV's that do one, but I found a nice 47" one for $999. I just don't want to buy the wrong cord without double checking first.
I recently purchased a mabook pro and would like to make it wireless printing with my espon printer...the epson has already been installed by putting the usb cord in but i wish to make it wireless so I don't have to use the cord all the time, how can I go about this...
I'm new to this technology and I was wondering what cables I need to hook up my mbp to my HDTV for both video and audio. when I do get it hooked up, will it be full screen or no? i mainly want to do this for watching movies from my mbp to my tv.
I know that using the DVI to VGA device, one can get their mac picture to show up on TV, but is there any way to also hook sound up from mac into TVs?
I have some TV shows I've bought on iTunes that aren't on DVD and I'd like to watch them on my TV. Is there an all-in-one picture AND sound method to get my mac to play video on my TV?
I'm trying to get my optical output to work on my imac. In my Audio Midi set up it says that "output is not supported" under the Audio output settings.
I have an iMac, MBP , and Airport Extreme. The HP printer that I have is hardwired via USB to the iMac. If I understand correctly, I should be able to set up the MBP to wirelessly print to the HP printer via the Airport Extreme. Is that true? Would the iMac have to been on and if so, can it be asleep? I have a couple of Windows computers as well. Can I set up a Windows XP, Vista, or 7 computer to print wirelessly via the Airport Extreme? If the above can be done, does anyone know how to set it up?
My school is buying me a projector for my G5. Before I use to hook up my g4 powerbook that had an s-video connection to a projector.
My issue is that my computer will be around 20 feet away from my computer. What cords do I need to make this work?
My projector interfaces with: Mini D-sub 15 pin Computer/Component video, Mini DIN S-video, RCA Composite video, RCA x 2 Composite audio, Monitor out, Variable audio out, Control I/O
What do I need to buy to be able to project from a distance?
Basic dumb question. My buddy has both a pc and a mac at work. He has music spread across both of them. What he'd like to do is colelct all his media files and put them on one external hard drive, then be able to connect both his PC and his MBP to the hardrive to access his music.
What would be the best way to do this? Is there something exceedingly simple like a hard drive with two USB outs that could feed both computers at the same time?
I just got an iMac running 10.6.1 And I still have a Mac Mini running 10.4.11, which allows me to access several apps running under Classic. I'd like to still access them on the glossy new monitor, with the wireless Magic Mouse. Since the iMac has no monitor input port, how do I hook up a KVM switch? Which brand do you recommend?
I am interested in connecting my early 2008 Mac Pro to my HD TV so that I can easily watch iTunes movies stored on the Mac Pro on the TV.
I know the Mac Pro has DVI video out and the TV has HDMI video in, and that there are adapters between the two. Will this be as easy as connecting my spare DVI port to an open HDMI port?
I currently have a MBP unibody 15" 2.53 I have all the cables etc etc, I am trying to hook this thing up to my Samsung 46" LCD. I have tried everything and I cannot get it to sync perfectly with my TV. What am I doing wrong? Can someone please tell me what setting my TV needs to be on and what setting my laptop needs to be on? I am dying over here spent close to $100 on cables and I cannot get this SOB to work.
I would like to hook up my mac to my HDTV but have NO idea how to do this. What cables or adaptors do I need? Is this easy? Is there a moron proof set of instructions somewhere?
