View 3 RepliesI have a Macbook Pro 15" , C2D 2.33ghz. I have the 7100 version of Windows 7 and everything worked perfectly except for the sound.
No matter which bootcamp driver I try or even Realtek's own vista one nothing works.
I downloaded the bootcamp 2.1 drivers and everything installed correctly , including the realtek ones. All the hardware looks fine in device manager but I dont hear anything out.
Should the default be speakers? It seems that it keeps the driver as microsofts own and it doesnt say anything about realtek. Could that be the problem?
I did not try the microphone jack yet but will in a few minutes.
Even if there is a hack , Im willing to try it. What is the exact audio chipset on this model of macbook pro?
I have been having problems on installing the Windows 8 CP on my late 2011 MBP, on Boot Camp the "Create Windows 7 Install disk" option is grayed out, I cannot access that area. Are there any other ways to run the Preview on Boot Camp? Or should I just use a virtual desktop?

I recently got a Macbook Pro and decided to put windows on it. The installation went fine I formatted it with FAT, and now I have to install the drivers. Since I dont have a CD I downloaded the 2.1 BC Drivers from the apple website and put it into my windows, but now when I got to open the drivers in windows it simply does nothing no matter what I try. Did I do something wrong or did I simply forget something
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed Win 7 on my 17" iMac using Bootcamp. The partitioning went fine, so did the Windows install, but the Bootcamp driver disk refuses to run. I have tried 'Troubleshoot Compatibility' using every logical option, but to no avail. This seems kind of wierd to me, as no one else has mentioned a problem like this.
I have:
Retail boxed leopard, with 10.5.1 on the Disc
Mac OS 10.5.6 installed
Bootcamp 2.0
Win 7, Build 7000
17" 2GHz Core 2 Duo iMac 2 GB RAM 160GB HDD, newly formatted, with 10GB for Win 7 (I am storing all of my Data and apps on an exteral drive) As far as I know, Win 7 and Mac OS are fully updated. Win 7 runs fine, but the lack of drivers means very little works. It can just about manage the internet...
I have a late 2009 27" iMac i7 with the Radeon 4850, I am running windows 7 64 bit on bootcamp for gaming. I was wanting to know if anybody has found which is the best performing graphics driver, I am currently using the driver installed via bootcamp 3.0, the driver from bootcamp 3.1 messed up the colour detail (would not display 32bit colours properly). Has anybody found a decent functional driver from ATI or have modded a driver for better performance? Those people who have successfully played top end games at high settings what driver do you use?

View 2 Replies View RelatedUsed migration assistant to move my Blackbook apps and settings to the Air using a Time Machine backup from my Time Capsule - wirelessly. Two hours later (not terrible) and I'm using my Air with all my apps and setting - fantastic.
Question: My Blackbook also has a Bootcamp partition running Windows - is there a way to take that image and migrate it to my MB Air? I'd rather not have to purchase the Superdrive and re-install/setup the Windows OS on my Air....
Got myself a 27" iMac i7 which was delivered today.
Been playing with it all day in OSX and initially installed Win7 but I the display driver keep crashing and I was getting artifacts on screen then the message saying that it had recovered successfully.
Having read that Win7 was not fully supported I assumed that this was the problem so installed Vista, but got the same problem.
Screen stalled, then goes blank for a second and then the error message in the task bar.
I have just ran all the MS updates and also installed the latest GFX driver from ATI to see if that makes a difference.
I have also just ran 3dmark06 and that ran OK but I was expecting the fans to kick in at some point
New to Macs, but just got first iMac8,1 OSX 10.5.4I can't get it see see my old, but perfectly good Sony Camcorder. I have set up bootcamp and when booted to XP it finds the camera perfectly and can capture the video. I assume therefore that the camera, firewire cable and hardware are all ok. It must be the lack of a driver. I have looked but can't find one. This is slightly frustrating as one of the reasons for getting a Mac was that I was told it was fantastic for AV work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a MBP 17" (2010 model). The trackpad functions very well under Mac OS/X.However, under Windows Vista 64-bit, it does not behave as if it were under Mac OS. For example, even I did not click on the trackpad, it did it by itself. Is it a driver problem or setting problem? I know that under bootcamp, we can change the trackpad settings. If it is the latter case, could anybody please let me know the configurations/settings that allow the trackpad to behave exactly the same it does under Mac OS/X?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe default Cirrus Logic driver for BootCamp outputs at 64dB. It makes no sense why they would put a cap on it since the driver outputs at 74dB in OSX. I have modified the driver and removed the volume cap so it now outputs louder in Windows than OSX!
Volume in Windows Before: 64dB
Volume in Windows After: 80dB
You can get the driver at:
[URL]
(Windows 7/Vista 32+64 Bit Driver)
It should work with any of the following Cirrus Logic chips:
CDB4206
CS4206A
CDB4207
It really helps with YouTube videos that have horrible volume or if you like to have music that fills the whole house.
Let me know if you want the XP driver with the volume uncapped so I can work on it as well.
I tried using the troubleshooter but they just say need driver nothing else

I occasionally get the BSOD sometimes on the Windows XP side of things in Boot Camp. I always use a mouse on the Windows side, as the trackpad is very glitchy and buggy. Sometimes, when I use the mouse for a prolonged period of time, I accidently touch the trackpad forgetting all of the sudden that i had the mouse (or i use it to scroll down) and the whole thing blue screens on me. It has happened 8 times already, each time blue screening after touching the mouse. I don't know why, but I find out that the mouse drivers are the one that is messing up my Windows XP SP3.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have today received a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium, and am looking forward to installing it on my MacBook (early unibody version with Core 2 Duo processor, recently upgraded to Snow Leopard - version MacBook 5,1 - with 2.4GHz Processor and 4GB RAM).
The question is simple, but I am utterly confused when searching for the answer...!
Should I install the 32bit or the 64bit version of windows? (both the disks are in the box). I would like a smooth installation, and realise that 32bit should work no problem. However if all the drivers are available for 64bit windows, and it works then I see no reason not to install that version. I am confused because there is reference on the Apple website of this version of the MacBook not being supported for 64bit despite having a 64bit processor (??) Also the vast majority of the information on the Apple website seems to refer to Vista 64bit. I imagine that this will be quite confusing for many users, as it has been for me!
I will only install windows once, and would obviously like to install the potentially faster OS if it will be straightforward, and everything will work as it should (have read about problems with the iSight/backlit keyboard etc. - but these may now be fixed).
I want to try out Windows 7. During this process though I deleted my winXP partition. When I went to create a new BootCamp partition in The BootCamp SetUp Assisstant, it failed to create the partition on my harddrive.
I was greeted with the error, "BootCamp SetUp assistant failed to yada yada yada, please backup and reformat your harddrive."
So my question is do I really have to reinstall Mac OS X? (I backup with TimeMachine so it won't be a big deal but still thats a very long process.) Do you guys have any tips or anything to get Mac OS X to partition my main HDD?
Two strange issues that I can't fix on my new MB Air 13 with MS Office for MAC 2011 and Excel.
1) I can't get the Standard Toolbar to show up when I open a new worksheet. I go to view, toolbars and then see that the Standard Toolbar is checked, but it doesn't show up. The only way to get it to show up is to do a series of steps:
- uncheck Standard Toolbar menu and go back out;
- go back in and check the Standard Toolbar and back to the spreadsheet
- the Standard Toolbar still doesn't show up;
- so then I click on the Layout tab on the ribbon and then it shows up!
2) I can't see the bottom of the window/spreadsheet - which means I can't resize the window. To resolve this, I have to do these steps:
- open system preferences and change my MBA screen resolution from 1440 x 900 down to 1280 x 800
- then go back to the spreadsheet, and resize the window (make it smaller on the screen)
- go back and resize the window back to 1440 x 900
- and then close the system preferences at this point, the Excel spreadsheet window is smaller and I can see/use the bottom of the screen to resize, etc.
Can't figure out what setting I have wrong or why I can't get Excel for Mac 2011 to work correctly on the MB Air screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMaybe I'm just over thinking this, but Apple never posted a KB article about how to upgrade an existing bootcamp partition with the new snow leopard bootcamp 3.0 drivers. I'm assuming if you already have bootcamp 2.1 you boot up in boot camp and then insert the snow leopard disc in order to upgrade the drivers to 3.0 correct? Or do I have to erase my stupid bootcamp partition and reinstall it all over again using the new leopard boot camp assistant in order to get to 3.0?
View 11 Replies View RelatedIm guessing that updating my graphics drivers via OSX dosen't do anything for the Windows side.
Do I run the apple software update in bootcamp? Or do I actually go to the nvidia site and download/install them?
Also, what is the best driver right now for gaming performance in Windows?
I know this is probably in the wrong section but the windows and gaming sections don't get much love.
Does anyone know of a Windows Mobile USB Driver that would allow me to tether my HTC Kaiser to my MacBook Pro via USB? I've been tethering via Bluetooth and that works fine, but doing it this way runs the battery down on my HTC quite fast, especially with HSDPA active. Also, it would allow me to keep the Macbook Pro plugged in and have the phone charged/charging via the USB connection, so that I don't kill the battery on the phone. I'm sure I'm not hte only Windows Mobile user here and I'm hoping someone else has found a solution.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed Windows XP SP3 and it installed just fine. I went and bought the Snow Leopard OSX DVD from the Apple Store. The bootcamp installed, etc. now that I tried to install a game, it worked.
Upon start up, it's asking for Direct X, installed that as well. Then it said that it failed because I don't have the driver. I checked and the driver is non-existent for graphics.
