MacBook Air :: VPN Connected But HDs Not Detected Located On Server?

I have connected my vpn successfully but the mac isnt detecting the hard drives located on the server it is connected to. I have tried connecting to the server through Finder - Go - Connect to server but it isnt connecting. I have entered my username and password when the box pops up but the box just shakes and nothing happens. I am 100% sure that the username and password is correct.

I am having difficulty troubleshooting this error. I have attached a section of the /var/log/opendirectoryd.log file while in debug mode. This is a 10.7.3 Open Directory master with no replicas. I put logging into debug mode to try to get to the root of this problem but I am not finding an answer to this issue. I am getting this same error message with multiple users, but they can all log in and function just fine. We are doing Radius auth to OD from our Cisco ASA for VPN connectivity and that works fine as well.Â

The girlfriend and I are consolidating machines and want to try a software based approach instead of a plug and swap approach. My goal is to have only a Desktop + iPad and she have her MacBook. The issue is that we also want to keep it limited to one monitor, etc. on the desk but she is in grad school and will have need for the larger screen and keyboard. My question is can I set up her laptop to use a Mobile Account and assuming she logs off on that before going onto the Server, can she then log in to the Server desktop and use that Mobile Account locally there? So sometimes use the Mobile Account on the laptop, Sometimes on the Desktop. From my days managing a small network, this seems plausible but could also be fraught with problems.

Ive been looking around the internet for a few hours now and can not find a thing that works. let me explain my set up. Im running a mac mini with the client version of 10.6 and I have a folder that I share with my friends to transfer files between each other. They Connect to it from there homes by command k and enter the ip address and prompts them to log in with the user name and password i gave them. now on my mac mini i have sharing only account for them to log in with everything works great except that i can not for the life of me find an way to see who is connect to the server. I just want an easy way to monitor what user is connect a list a log a widget something. It seems like such a easy thing but i cant find anything.

He has a PowerBook G4 with OS 10.4 on it. He is in a house that has an HP OfficeJet Pro L7680 connected to a wireless print server, a D-Link DRP-1260. He cannot get the PowerBook to print anything. There are a couple of PCs that have connected and printed with no problem, but he cannot get the Mac to do so. I assume there is some setting that is wrong.

My MacMini has no search results when directed to search the connected server, or folders on the server (usually in sidebar under devices).
It will search okay on the hard drive, but no results on server. It runs OS10.7.3Â

Have comcast internet, cable modem, belkin n+ wireless router, imac 4,and imac g3 with an airport card. The imac4 works connected by ethernet direct to the cable modem or even off the belkin router. can't get g3 to
connect to comcast wireless.

I recently took a position where the previous person didn't leave much in the way of processes or instruction. There are several existing domains, purchased from GoDaddy, hosted locally on our server. I am working on adding a new site and purchased the domain below. I have changed all the zone settings in GoDaddy's DNS manager and have duplicated an existing *.conf fie in the Apache2 folder making the changes within the file to the directory and the domain name. I have also added the directory and set it to be a sharepoint as well as adjusted the permissions.Â

I have a dozen of macs connected to a mac mini server. This one is programmed to automatically switch on at 8:00 am and switch off at 8:00 pm. However, if a user is still connected at time of switchng off (8:00 pm) it cannot switch off automatically and a window appears saying another user is still connected, do you still wish to disconnect. If administrator is no more there to click yes, server does not switch off and still runs all night long. On former versions (10.4 or 10.5 ?) it worked the other way, ie other users were informed that server would be disconnected in the next one minute and that they had to save their work.Â
Is there a solution to come back to a similar way of proceeding?

Safari regularly gives me error that I'm not connected to internet/can't find server. I've gotten so fed up I've downloaded Firefox and don't have the issue with Firefox. Also, my other computer running Internet Explorer doesn't give me these errors. I've tried resetting safari, emptying cache. I'm on Mac OS X, MacBrook Pro laptop.

In my system preferences > iCloud on my MacBook it has a check next to that app, but when I open the app on my iPhone it can't locate it...is there a way to install the app on my MacBook as well? I can't find where it is if so...Â

For the last couple of month or two, my MacBook Pro hasn't always been recognising all of my 4Gb of RAM and only detecting one of the two 2Gb RAM installed. Â
I thought it might have been a hardware problem but I have been able to restart OS X when it only detects 2Gb and after it has rebooted it would see all 4Gb of RAM but recently (last week or so) when I restart this no longer happens and it still only detects 2Gb not matter how many times I restart.Â
The 4Gb of RAM installed is the factory shipped RAM and I haven't opened my MBP to make any modifications.Â
For some reason when I boot into Windows 7 through BootCamp it detects all 4Gb of RAM.Â
I am having real trouble running some applications that I need due to the fact that I only have half the installed RAM available.Â

I bought a 4-port USB hub (Gear Head if it matters) and it's supposed to just plug in and work. I normally use a USB mouse & keyboard, thus taking up 2 out of 2 of my MacBook Pro's USB slots. I bought the Hub so I could add in a light or speaker for late night gaming sessions and quiet videos respectively. The light on the USB Hub turns on, but it isn't detected by my MacBook Pro. Anything I plug in to it recieves enough power to turn on (Speaker's Power light turns on, Mouse's laser will turn on, etc...) but they aren't detected by the MacBook Pro. IE; Mouse won't move on screen, keyboard will not type, speaker isn't shown as an option for outgoing sound device, etc...

Installed a new Seagate Momentus XT 750gb into my mid 2009 mbp. When I tried to install my leopard the HDD was not detected.Â
So I put in the original HDD and installed leopard into the Seagate via USB with success. Prior installation I formatted the Seagate already. Â
Then I install the Seagate into the mbp again but still it cannot be detected. Â

Using both smcFanControl and istat, I cannot get a reading on my fan speeds. I can hear my exhaust fan spinning, but these programs tell me it is always at 000 rpm. Also, I don't think the fan control is working, as I don't hear an increase in fan speed when I make adjustments.
Does anyone know how I can get these apps to recognize my exhaust fan?

I'm running Mac OS X Lion (latest version) on a MacBook Pro mid-2010 model. OS X Lion was installed via recovery tools a few days ago. Today I plugged in a brand new Crucial M4 SSD via USB and it got detected. I restarted the laptop in recovery mode using cmd + R and chose to install Lion on the external SSD. For this I first had to partition the SSD before it showed up as a valid drive where Lion could be installed. The installation went almost to the end, but then stopped rather strangely for a very long time. So I decided to cancel the installation and restarted the laptop normally. Since then the Crucial M4 SSD is not being detected at all (doesn't even show up in Disk Utility).Â

I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro 13 it was working OK but now has come up no batteries detected and I have tried a pram reset, smc reset and a new battery but still no luck. I did manage to get it to work for a while by turning it on with the power adapter connect then restarting it but at the point of the restart I pulled the power and it came on with the battery.Â
If I start it with the power adapter connected and then pull the power it will boot to the login screen briefly then go into sleep until I reconnect the power. When the power adapter is connected it just has a solid green light at all times never changes even if I do the smc reset.Â

I have a macbook pro and i used my old phillips tv for a 2nd screen. Bought a DVI-I to DVI-I cable, and was working just fine. For xmas I got a Dynex 26inch. I noticed it has a VGA and not DVI input, so I figured I would buy a DVI-I to VGA adapter and still be able to use the same cable. I go to hook it up and my TV says no signal.
On my laptop it detected the tv as BBY LCD TV, but still has no picture. Is there a setting I need to change? Or is the better route going with a new DVI-I to VGA or HDMI cable?

when i entered any disc (dvd/cd), my mac cant detect it and instead there's like an alarm sound. after a few minutes, it automatically eject the disc without giving any error message whatsoever.

I upgraded to 10A432 last week. Today I plug in my headphones and to my surprise they dont work. If the headphones are plugged in audio comes out of computer speaker. Under Sound in Syspref it doesn't see the headphone. My mac is still under the 90 day warranty but I am studying in Purdue and don't know where the nearest apple store is.

I have a Hanns-G 22in monitor that I'm trying to connect to my new Macbook Pro. There's a DVI cable connected from the monitor to the macbook pro with a little converter cable. I've tried what seems like every iteration of sleeping, turning off, and turning on both the laptop and the monitor to no avail. The monitor always remains black as if it's connected to nothing. I know the monitor is good, too, as I use it for my PC on a daily basis.
