I have 3 email accounts but would like to have one dominate, i.e. from which emails are sent, but continue to receive the other 2 in my inbox. Recommendations to optimise this? or should I just have 2 accounts forwarded to the main 1?

I have my mobile me email account but I also have 2 business email accounts that are linked to my Mac as well as my iPhone 4s. BUT the iCloud mobile me email is ok but my 2 business emails do not mirror at all. iPhone and Mac are completely separate.Â
I have tried deleting the business emails from my phone then in 'info' in iTunes when the phone is connected I have tried syncing email accounts as well as 'replace mail accounts' in the 'advanced' section.Â
When I do this it loads the messages from the accounts as unread emails. However on my mac each account has 27 emails in each account. When the phone syncs the accounts 1 email has 123 messages and the other 61.
Deleting messages from Mac or iPhone makes no difference in mirroring. Is there any way to get my 2 business accounts to mirror on both devices. As you can understand it is very frustrating having differing messages on both devices.

I was just doing a superduper backup which failed halfway through because i didnt realise my wd passport drive that was plugged in was auto backing stuff up and there must have been a conflict. Now, I dont know what to do. Email accounts.gone. Any registered apps, still there but reg details gone, any and all system preferences (like trackpad setup just came to mind) gone. Dock and all the items in it and crap I made to ,make it look fancy. gone. Stuff that loads at the stuff...gone.
I know this must have to do with my user directory but wtf? I know my timemachine backup is fine as i did one before all the problems, but is my superduperbackup screwed? I cant stress how screwed I am, I got reports due right before xmas and im like at square 1 now.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm the administrator of my computer, but I want to create an account similar to the guest account, one which does not have access to my own home folder, files, etc. Unlike the guest account, I don't want all the files and preferences to be deleted upon logging out.
Pretty much a separate account, completely unrelated to the administrator account.
Is this possible?

Nobody else is talking about this problem so maybe it is not so widespread, but 3 of us cannot download any apps or access our accounts on iTunes right now (we have 3 separate computers with 3 separate accounts and separate devices). iTunes is giving the error "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was lost. There was an error in the iTunes Store, please try your request again later" and we are completely unable to log in. When we try to download apps on our devices (iPhone 4.0, iPhone 3GS and iPad WiFi + 3G) it gives us a "waiting" status bar by the app and just never loads. Or is the iTunes store / App store actually down right now? Using OS X on iMac (late 2009) and the latest version of iTunes for Mac.

I cannot access the Accounts pane from System Preferences. Each time I click on the icon, I get a message that says "system preferences has quit unexpectedly. I've already repaired the permission, deleted system preferences plist, installed the combo update and logged in as a different user. Everything else works just fine.

View 10 Replies View RelatedIn Mail, when you add an account, why does it take so ridiculously long to verify with no way to skip verification? At first I thought this was just my system but I've now had a friend ask me why it's so slow (took 17 minutes) and he's on a different ISP and everything. This means that 100% of the computers I've seen take an unacceptably long time to verify the account. This problem only appears to affect Apple Mail. I find it hard to believe that Apple could release something this bad, so I have two questions:
1. Is this normal?
2. Why does it happen?
Just purcahsed a new IMac. my e-mail is coming into mail fine, but how do I add my wife's account, and how do we switch back and forth from accounts.
Our older Mac is still up and working, we used Entourage for that, and I kind of would like to duplicate ithe process in Mail if possible. Still getting mail there too.
I just got my MacBook Pro (late 2011/Mavericks) back from a covered Apple repair. It now has a new logic board, and although most other things seem to work ok, I cannot log in to either of my Mail accounts (or to the C-panel of my website, where one of those accounts is located), either by using the existing password entries in MAIL preferences, or by entering the passwords manually. How do I get this to reset so that I can access my mail?

In a 300 to 400 page document that contains 60 to 70 pages of diagrams, is there any way to designate which pages will print. Sometimes, I need to print out only the diagrams. I don't really want to type in 70 separate page numbers in the "page range" section of the print window.
If I can't do this in Word 2008, is there some other program that I can do this in?
I'd like to get off Google Gmail, but I have to retreive and read email from accounts other than my me.com account. Is this in the product?

I can no longer use one of my accounts. What happens when I try to add it to Mavericks Mail it recognises the log and pass as correct, however the Mail option is not available.
Trying to enter the mail box from SAFARI the iCloud,com website recognises my log and pass, clicking on the MAIL option it asks me to enter the log and pass again, doing so it tells me that log is already taken
I don't understand how this is possible as these are all paid account for well over a decade and I am already correctly in my iCloud account.

Im very green to the apple way of computing, before I got this new aluminum macbook from santa I've always used windows. Anyway, I am loving my new apple but of course transferring all my old stuff and getting used to how the new programs work can be quite a hassle. Right now im trying to get apple mail to function like outlook did. Please be patient with me. I have several email addresses, private, business, hobby, etc. They go with several of my websites. But they are all hosted with the same server, so although every email has a different name, they all use the same mail server, user name and password.
I know I can add new accounts and by adding different email addresses to the name, divided with a , I can send emails from different addresses. But here is my problem. Every email I send comes from the same sender, the same name but a different email address. info@hab.nl & jo@jo.nl all come from sender Jo, not from hab & jo as I would like. Everytime I try to add a new account I get this message; "The account "jo" already has this hostname and username". I know it does! But I still want to use those with different email accounts, just like I used to do in Outlook.
I've come across a strange problem that I'm not sure if Mac Mail will be able to deal with natively. Basically, I have several contacts in my address book that have 2 addresses; work and home. I also have 2 mail accounts set up; my work account and my home account. I've run into a few problems at work when I'm sending email to colleagues as it was auto-selecting their personal addresses when I typed in their names. I managed to fix that but now when I send mail from my personal account, the auto-select chooses their work email first so I have to scroll down to choose their personal account.
Is there a way of getting mail to understand that if I'm sending mail from my personal account, then "home" addresses should show up first in auto-complete but if I'm sending from my work account, then "work" addresses should show up first? I understand this is probably a bit of a long shot without a third party tool but thought it best to ask!
I've only really used Mail in a very basic way - for reading email from three email accounts, one work, two Gmail. I've never attempted to organize things in any way. However, I want to clean things up a bit now. I'm getting a lot of work emails - I'm a journalist - and I want to organise them based on which article they relate to. I presumed the easiest way to do this would be to create a folder (a 'Mailbox' I take it, Mailbox > New Mailbox) and drag the relevant emails to the corresponding folder. However, when I do this the emails no longer appear in my overall Inbox, so when I search the Inbox, they don't appear. I've had a quick look around the Preferences, but can't see a simply option for changing this. Am I going about this the right way organising using Mailboxes? Or is there a better way perhaps?
