Jan 15, 2008the only reason i would partition the hard drive is just for steam and some cs 1.6 and mabe mabe source. would it run this game good?

Windows On Mac :: CounterStrike On VMWARE?
Feb 13, 2009I have tried to run CS Source with both Parallels and VMWare steam crashes at the same time in both applications. I upped the allotted memory, and that made no difference. I get a fatal error it reads something like exception fault hl2.exe,Has anyone got it running on using XP?

Mar 14, 2012Since doing a clean install of Lion onto my system, I have not been able to play music cd's bought from the high street. My system keep ejecting them after about 20 seconds. Movie DVD's play straight away.

Jun 13, 2012I have downloaded a song and when I go to play it...it bounces off of the song and will not play. I have iTunes 10.6.1......Apple charged me for the song already. I went to Support but could not find a solution specific to my issue. I have downloaded over 2500 songs and this has not happened before. This song was one of nine other songs I downloaded that evening...all others came through successfully.

Dec 9, 2008I'm giving an old Dual G4 Power Mac to my father for Christmas. I would like him to see the 10.5 multi-lingual welcome video [URL] when he boots the computer for the first time. What can I do before I shutdown the computer for the last time before I give it to him so it plays the video on the next boot?
Ideally I'd like for the OS to show the video full screen like it does after an install, and then show the login window (or in his case, automatically log in). I'd prefer not to add the video to his account's login items

Jul 20, 2009I'm fairly new to mac, and needed to know how to do something with my particular arrangement.
My configuration is i have a new Imac, and I have alot of movies in avi. format that I want to burn on a DVD and be able to play on my PS3 as that is all I use to watch movies. And I doubt that I can just burn that avi to a DVD and boom it works. So I need to know what I need to convert them to, and what is the best program to convert them (doesn't have to be free software either, just the best because it will be watched on a 61" tv, so I need quality to be awesome cause otherwise it will stretch and distort). And how to burn them with what program for them to work on my PS3.

What is the best program to rip them to my Mac? Then what do I do if I want to rip them to a DVD that will play in my PS3. Is there a certian format? The more information the better. I have a very vague understanding of how this all works. I did find from MRoogle that RipIt appears to be a really good choice for ripping the DVD to the Mac... but then what? MacBook Pro :: Will Only Play Certain DVD's
Mar 28, 2012My MacBook Pro will not play third party DVD's such as Dragon Dictate but will play Apple DVD's and DVD's that I have burned. I get the message I get is "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer." think this started after the recent system update to 10.7.3. I tried the DVD in onother MacBookPro that did not have the system software update and had no problems. I downloaded the combo update and re-installed the system software but this did not correct the problem.

QuickTime :: Cannot Play .MOV
May 21, 2012I've moved everything from my PC to Mac with no problem....docs, photos, music, movies, etc. However, there are about a half dozen .MOV files that simply won't open. The message I receive is "The document “filename.MOV” could not be opened. The decoder required for this media cannot be found."
I took a look at other video files I brought over from my PC and there are quite a few .MOV files that are playing just fine. why some .MOV videos are playing just fine while others aren't? And more importantly, what do I need to do in order to get these videos to play?
I'm using Mac OS X, Version 10.7.4 and QT, Version 10.1.

Mac Mini :: Can't Play A Dvd
May 28, 2012I know I have seen some of these posts outside the apple support forums, but I am having an increasing problem playing DVDs. Older movies seem to have less problem, but when I get a movie from Netflix they often won't be recognized by my 2010 Mac Mini. The drive has had some problems ejecting discs in the past, and this inability to recognize the disc and then ejecting it is getting worse. Since it is not 100% of the time, the genius bar can't diagnoze it.
I only have 1 TV in the house, and want to be able to reliably use my Mac Mini to watch a DVD when the wife or kids are using the TV.
