How to open .rar files?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've installed adobe reader and I don't have any adobe internet plug-ins to delete which appears to have solved a number of other users.
View 3 Replies View RelatedCan't seem to open them. My MBP defaults and has Dreamweaver open it, but that is not working.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got some mailboxes in Outlook 2003 on my Windows work machine that I'd like to export and open on my Mac, maybe saving them on a USB key and taking them home. Can I open or work with these on my MBP running Leopard? The emails only have to be read-only, even just being able to open and read them would be OK, but I'd also like the attachments, if at all possible. I can't currently test this on my work (Tiger) Mac as Mail isn't working. Any clues from the wise ones?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have several files that show up as grey squares with a green 'exec' in the upper left hand corner. When I get Info on these files they are indicated to be Microsoft Word files. When I open them in MS Word, they display pages of gibberish random symbols.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony dictaphone which is great. Sad thing is, they use a retarded format called MSV, which technically is very good, but the thing is, Mac is unable to open it. I tried with iTunes and Quicktime, none of them works. I searched google, but found only five year old forumposts about it. Hopefully, it's possible to download a codec plugin for Mac OSX Leopard.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhenever I get an exe. file I've been just deleting them, because my computer [a G4 PowerPC with OS X 10.4.11 Tiger] can't open such files. For example, on a movie download site, a free torrent downloader was offered, and it said for PC or Mac. Yet when after I downloaded it to my desktop, I found an exe. file. And such files are of no use to me, since my computer can't open them with QuickTime Player or anything else it has. Please tell me how to open exe. files, or how to convert them to something else that my computer can open.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI'm just wondering is there a way to set up your Mac so that pressing the enter key will open files because this is what I am used to doing on a PC. It gets kind of annoying because every time I open a file I end up renaming it accidently. Is there a way to open files with the enter key or is it just something that I'll have to live with?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat Free software can I use to open RAR files?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't find any program to open them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat app can I use to open .cgi files? Our grade reports at my university are downloaded as .cgi. How can I open this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI think at some point in the past I had Stuffit Expander installed on my Leopard box. I suspect this because when I browse to a .sit file I still get the choice to 'open with stuffit expander'. If I select this choice I get a text edit file with a bunch of gibberish in it.
I don't want to reinstall Stuffit on my SL box. I remember Stuffit being really invasive and try to take over the unzipping of .zip files from the OS X archive utility, etc.
So, I have two questions;
1. Is there any other way to unpack .sit files?
2. Is there any way to clean out the last traces of my previous stuffit installation?
I have a few .m3u playlist files I created on a pc, but when I try to open them in VLC or Itunes they won't open. In Itunes absolutely nothing happens when trying to open the file. In VLC I get a couple errors. One is a 'File reading failed' and the other is 'Your input can't be opened' for each file it tries to read from the playlist. Any playlists created on the Mac work fine. Any ideas on getting the PC created lists to work though?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently got a new imac and it has an sd card slot at the side. I have a hd camcorder with an 8gb sd card. When I put in in the slot it recognised it and when i double clicked it it came up with a load of files that have a black background with green lettering inside. When I open them i choose an application and it just says 'Unreadable Files'. I want to inport the video files to iMovie. Any idea what going on?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am presently on an IMac with Snow Leopard installed on it. I found an old cdrom disk of mine that I burned a few years back when I had a Windows computer. I think it ran Windows XP Home. Anyways, I used a burning program called Hotburn to burn the disk. I burned my address book, several photos, different folders of various things onto the disk. For whatever reason, the file extensions on every file turned into .ink. So, how can I open them on my mac? I copied the files on the burned disk to a new folder on my imac.
View 3 Replies View Relatedis that I seem to have designated .exe files to open in TextEdit, which just gives me a bunch of jargon if I try to execute the file. How do I fix this, and what should I designate .exe files to open with?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just experienced a strange thing while clicking on links for .ics calendar files on two different macs. On one machine it works as it should, i.e., you click on the link and a popup window asks if you want to save the file. If yes, it will then open the file in Entourage. Great. On my other mac I click on the same link and it just opens the file in its raw form, almost like viewing the source code of a web page. Does anyone know why this is so? How can I get the file to open properly on this machine?
