I have it set to create a mosiac of a folder from pictures in iphoto. I have over 40,000 pics and of different colors. whenever screensaver is turned on it uses greens to form a picture.
Anyone know the problem? I deleted photos and then imported them again.
I have blue and green vertical lines on my iMac which is no longer covered by Applecare. Is it fixable?

To see how it looks: [url] I can not find the cause of its pixels that appear on the screen. Only in the viewer. They occur randomly when I add an effect FCPX. (not just a plug-tier) These pixels are found embedded in the video if I made one!It does not appear immediately launching FCP but after 5 minutes after playing withthe settings of my corrections.When they appear in FCP if I run photoshop, I have the same pixels in the window of my image in Photoshop I did not think I shall give my card GT120 But I have an ATI 5770 with an Apple MacPro 4.1 What I tried: reinstall FCP New partition with 10.6.8 and 10.7 fired FCP preferences Reset PRAM + SMC Changed the cables and adapters of my screens Does this card is defective? Why do they not appear in the screenÂ

This may have been posted earlier, so sorry is this is a repeat. I've had this PowerBook since the first 17" versions came out in early 2003 and it has worked wonderfully. It even came adrift on a bicycle one day (strap broke with a brand new sleeve bag) it skidded down the road and bashed into the curb... still kept working.... other than a couple of dents and a lid that never closed again quite so well, it has been a fab machine.
Anyway, a few months ago the screen started occasionally going a green/blue tinge, almost like very fine stripes down the screen. A wriggle of the screen seemed to fix it, but it has now become quite bad, and stays like that for most of the time. I figure it must be the connection to the screen from the system, as when using the laptop for presentations (connected to a projector) all is good.
So my question is, does anyone know a easy fix? I heard that the wiring is built in, and needs the screen replacing, which doesn't make sense given it's nearly 5 years old.
Today I tried to change the finder icon in the dock. Because I'm cheap, I dont have candybar, so I tried to use liteicon. While this changed the finder icon in messages like "do you want to empty trash," it did not change it on the dock, even after logging out and relaunching the dock.
So I went into a bunch of core services and replaced all the finder .icns and .pngs with the one I wanted to use.When I relaunched the dock, the finder was invisible, but it still had the little blue "open" dot below where it was.I downloaded the candybar trial to try to fix it, but even candybar didn't get the icon back.
I'm using 10.5.8. Where are all the places the finder icon should be to show up?
Wasn't this an option previous to 10.7.4? It doesn't work now.When clicking the Finder icon in the Dock, a new Finder window would open? I know about Finder prefs - General - Always open folders in new window but this isn't what I mean.I'd have a Finder window open then want to copy/move something so I clicked on the Finder icon in the dock to get a new window.Every time I clicked the Dock icon, I'd get a new Finder window.

View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since upgrading my 2012 Mac Pro to Yosemite, I cannot get the green Time Machine icon to stick. After the first Time Machine backup, which took many hours, the icon suddenly appeared all by itself. Then after a reboot, the icon reverted back to a generic internal hard drive icon (my Time Machine disk is an internal drive).  I went into settings and re-selected the Time Machine disk, then the icon came back by itself. On the next reboot, it was gone again.Â
I've run Disk Utility and everything appears fine. No, I've verified there is no custom icon set via the Get Info window, nor do I care to use a custom icon as a band-aide to this problem.  I'd like to find/fix the root problem. (I'll only apply a temporary custom icon if this a verified bug in the OS.)Â
Originally, this machine came from Apple as refurbished with Mountain Lion installed. The Time Machine icon was always proper. Just a few days ago, I upgraded from ML to Yosemite when this problem started. Otherwise, AFAIK, Time Machine backups are working fine.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can easily change the icon of my HD, or any other application using CandyBar or LiteIcon but these prgrams do not allow me to change standard folders and that's mainly what I want to change.
CandyBar & LiteIcon even allow me to change the "applications" folder, "Documents" and "Downloads", etc... but I havent had any luck with the cliche standard blue folders.
I did some googling and mroogling on this subject and I can't find anything relating to how it is currently. What I want to do is take my iCal icon and make it blue. Because of how the rest of my dock looks I think it would fit a little better. What is the modern method for doing this, and does anyone have a better quality blue iCal image than the one I found on google which was 64x64 and lost all the detail.

Finder will flick to blue screen for a split second and restart quitting all open apps. Not restarting the iMac, but just Finder? I've ran Disk Utility and found no problems and also ran a Hardware Test and found no problems. The only indication I have is in Console which without posting the whole log the below lines stand out to me as potential issues:
HIToolbox: received notification of WindowServer event port death.
This line is present numerous times with each application name that was open next to it indicating to me a reason each app has quit? Then a long list of this line repeated;
com.apple.fontd [58544] FODBCheck: foRec->annexNumber != kInvalidAnnexNumber (0)
Followed by:
com.apple.WindowServer[58526] WindowServer[58526] <Error>: kCGErrorFailure: Set a breakpoint @ CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch errors as they are logged.
This happened once yesterday and a few times today so it's becoming more regular...

This may seem like a really silly question, but how do you change the icon for finder? I can't seem to get to the 'get info' bit to change it. I can do it for everything else, just not finder!

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe finder icon on my iMac desktop has what can best be described as a "half shaded box" on the top half of it. Its somewhat transparent, but there nonetheless.Asked my local apple geek and he never heard of it.I suspect it is user specific as it doesn't show up on any other accounts on the computer.

So I was trying to customize my dock and I downloaded CandyBar. After choosing a new Finder icon it asked me to log out to apply changes, when I logged back in my finder icon was gone. I went to CandyBar and clicked restore but it told me I never made any backup. I scrolled to where the original window to change the icon was (next to trash can etc) and the window to change it had also disappeared. Any advice on how to restore my Finder icon manually?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I open a folder in Finder with a large amount of images (4,500 photos), I cannot right-click these icons; when I do right-click a selected icon, it deselects it, and the right-click menu reverts to the menu that would show up as if I clicked the background of the finder. Since this only happens in this folder, and I can click on desktop icons in another Finder window simultaneously, does this mean it is memory issue in that particular window or something? I am trying to organize this massive folder (move to trash, copy, etc) and having to go up to the file menu to do this can get pretty time consuming.

I lost my icon of my Finder in my Dock, the icon seem to be fine for the Finder.app and permission too.
I posted on my blog [URL] an article on the origin of the icon in the Finder. Mine is a guess, but I do not know whether just or not, also because I do not know if it is a common knowledge or that nobody has noticed.
