Apr 14, 2012How do I uninstall a program off of my iMac? I am very new to the Apple world so there is still a sharp learning curve. This is a program that I recently added, have used as needed, and would like to unload from the computer. In Windows, I would simply go to Control Panel, go to Install/Uninstall, select the program of interest, and uninstall it. Is there a similar process here?

Apr 27, 2008After 20+ years of Windows, I finally got my 1st Mac Pro 2 days back. Everything went smoothly including installing 4x750 Samsung Spinpoint drives from newegg, 4 GB of extra memory from OWC, Raid set up, and so on. For instance, I want to uninstall a program that I installed as I want to reinstall it. In Windows, you've this wonderful control panel that has everything. Mac's Utility folder has some stuff, but not what I am looking for. I love the right-click mouse feature in Windows; can't seem to have that work on my Mac. So, is there any kind of resource available which lists everything that the OS does without any pretty pictures or over-simplifications? The 81-page manual on Apple site didn't do much good to me. And, how do you uninstall a program? Throwing the .app file in the trash didn't help.

Feb 25, 2009I am new to using mac and just got a new HP printer to replace my old hp printer. If I understand correctly I click and drag my current HP printer file/icon to the trash and then search for additional files using applef to delete the rest. Is this right? Am I missing any other crucial steps? If the brand is the same do I need to remove the additional files?
Also and this may be a stupid question, but how do i make sure that my computer does not recognize the old printer for my wireless network when I set up my new one?

Mar 30, 2010A few months ago I installed a sync program on my G4 PPC running OSX to try and sync a cell phone I no longer have. It never did work for the phone. So, I found the file under applications and drug it to the trash thinking it was gone. Well it wasn't. Now every time I plug in my ipod it pops up "Sync alert". I will be staying in one place for the majority of the two weeks I'm there but will be looking to stay at the odd hotel when I'm visiting the north of Italy.

Jul 21, 2009I have a G5 Duo 2.7Ghz with 4Gb of ram (supplied with 2Gb, 2Gb added later).
Sometimes when it goes to sleep it can't be activated again and I have to trip the power switch and restart. When it goes to sleep the machine begins to run flat out as if it was about to take off!

Sep 25, 2009Just got a Nuvi 265WT from Amazon yesterday and when I tried to register it using Safari, I have OS-X version 10.5.8. and the Garmin website would not complete it. I had to download Foxfire and use it to register my GPS even tho I had been able to use my older mac mini before to register my Garmin GPSMAP 76Cx.

May 30, 2012when I connect my Garmin Edge 705 to the MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.7.4) the device won't mount as USB-drive instead it just goes into charging mode. This wasn't the case earlier with the MacBook Pro (>10.7.3) and this isn't the case with a MacBook running still on Snow Leopard.
Therefore I assume that something has changed in the Mac OS X 10.7.4 particularly in the Finder?

Software :: Garmin Colorado (navi) Doesn't Appear On Desktop
Aug 12, 2010After correct behaviour during 2 years Garmin Colorado only appears for a short time on the desktop from a MacPro with Snow Leopard 10.6.4 and disappears. Announcing an error: not correct disconnected. act is that the power of the colorado batteries had crashed down, and I didn't realize this in time. Additional Information: the Connect-picture on the Garmin-display stays permanently even when shutting down the MacPro. Correct disconnecting of the Garmin then is impossible. Further use of the Garmin requires disconnecting from the computer, causing new error. Questions: May be possible such behaviour has disrupted the USB-driver or some else software in the OSX or whatever, and what can be the source of the error? On WIN2000Pro same bahaviour: no connect.
