I just had to change the batteries on my wireless keyboard. Now my computer is stuck on the password log-on page but I can't log in since my keyboard hasn't synched yet.how to sync the keyboard without logging in?

My wireless keyboard and sync connect when I turn the computer on and then daily it loses the sync after a period of sleep. The only way to reboot the computer is to hold down the power button, which I'm sure can't be good. It seemed to start after a recent upgrade. It had been working fine for 2 years and nothing I am aware of in the environment has changed with the exception of a new iphone.
I have fresh batteries in both latest update installed have no metal objects, wirless phone etc around the computer
I just have started playing on a Mac, and I'm being presented with a few keyboard challenges. I figured out a couple already, but still can't figure out how to minimize the WoW screen without logging out. On my Dell, I'd just hit the "windows" key. Also, I can't move skills manually from say the 1 key to the 4 key. Click and drag doesn't seem to work for this action.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter I logged out of my account, I logged back in to see nothing on my desktop except for "Macintosh HD." I click on it and noticed that my home folder is mounted as a disk image under "Places." By "home folder" I meant the folder found at MacintoshHDusers ame-of-folder. I did not shutdown and login again, I logged out back to the main login screen, then logged in again under the same account. Shutting down the computer before logging in to the same account prevents this from happening, but logging out then logging back in causes it to happen.

I just had Apple replace the hard drive on my iMac due to a hard drive failure. I restored my data from my WD back-up drive and that seemed to go fine, but when I try to log onto my computer for the first time since the drive change, I get this error message: "you can't log into the FileVault user account 'my account name' at this time. Logging into the account failed because an error occurred." This comes at the screen where you enter your password for password protected login. Note that I've always used the password protected login and I have not forgetten my password. I shut down and restarted a couple of more times, but I keep on getting the same message.

I don't have a USB keyboard laying around. So I can't get into the system. Does anyone know a way to get the MacPro to open the disk bay and boot off the DVD? I just bought a new 2012 aluminum Wireless keyboard and the function keys do not work properly. I am currently running OS 1.5.8. I would expect most keys to match the icons on the keyboard. I do not want to upgrade to Snow Leopard or Lion. I have installed an aluminum keyboard upgrade 2.0 and this did not help. I just want the the keyboard functions to match the icons on the keyboard.. I upgraded to 10.1 this weekend and really like the changes. I'm using a G4 Tower with dual 450s / 512 MB RAM.The one nagging issue I have is that the system keeps logging me out. I have the screen saver set for 5 minutes (basic black) and the energy saver set to turn off the monitor after 10 minutes and never sleep the computer nor the hard drive.If I go away and come back in under 30 minutes, the system seems fine. It wakes up and asks me for the password (I have the screen saver set to require password). Unfortunately, after 30 minutes or so, when I wake up the computer, its at the login screen. When I log in, all my programs have to restart (ie, I was definitely logged out and not asleep). Very, very annoying. Once it even cost me a download.

I have a file in one directory (Direcotry A) named users.yml, and a file in another directory (Directory B) called users.yml.Those directory A and directory B are in the same super directory. I've had an iphone 4 for 2 years, always syncing contacts with outlook on my old PC. Everything worked fine until icloud; I then found that any new contacts weren't syncing to outlook, I'm assuming because the phone was only syncing to icloud? No matter, decided not to worry as I wanted to buy a mac, having worked with them recently.
So my issue now is (very similar to before) that I can't sync my contacts from my iphone to my mac, again because it insists the phone is backing up to icloud. I tried this morning; it prompted me that the phone was 'on' icloud and therefore not syncing with mac etc; I checked the box to sync contacts, hit apply and merge in the hopes I could get my contacts from my phone onto the mac. Instead it's created another phone book on my iphone with just the three contacts that were on the mac?!
Now when I go to contacts on my iphone it has three groups: All contacts, all on my iphone and all icloud. The first and last have all my contacts in; the all on my iphone has zero. I know the transition to something new isn't always easy, but I'm now really confused.The Mac is on Snow Leopard, and my understanding of browsing the forums is that only lion will work with icloud. I haven't bought any software yet, so I'm not concerned about compatibilty if I upgrade. I AM however concerned as to how icloud will work if I do upgrade?

The audio on a video I created is out of sync on YouTube when viewed on a mid-2011 iMac. It works fine when viewed directly as a movie on the desktop. The unusual thing is that the audio is fine when viewed on YouTube on an early 2008 MacBookPro. This would indicate the problem lies with the iMac, the video card etc?

my IPad is a first gen, 64G and my IPod touch is a 3rd gen, also 64G.
when I try to sync my IPad it keeps saying "The iPad cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional 14.39 GB required)."
There is still 20 gigs of free space left on the IPad and 247 gigs left on my hardrive so, I don't know why it's saying that and when I plug in my IPod touch it says it cannot sync because an unknown error occurred (13019)
recently I had to get my computer wiped and this is the first time trying to sync my devices since then. I had to re-download everything. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Also can IPads be bugged? mine constanly crashes and sometimes it randomly opens a different app usually when I'm in safari. It also constanly freezes lot's of times in ITunes or watching movies the screen turns black.Â

I have had recurrent kernel panic attacks on my Macbook pro runnig 10.4.7. This seems to be OK once rebooted in safe mode but I can find the underlying software/hardware problem. The logs are not helping me with this issue.Â
Anyone have any suggestions. I am thinking of backing up all my files and erasing hard drive and starting with reloading all my applications and then files.The computer is only useable in safe mode at present.
