IMac :: F7 Key Not Responding - Desktop Appear Wider
Mar 24, 2009I sometime use my MacBook on a big LCD screen. To do so, I press F7. The problem has just started today, when switching on my computer, All the desktop icons appear wider than usual and the icons from the left part are missing (as if I had my laptop connected to the LCD screen before pressing F7), pressing F7 doesn't solve the problem. What can I do to restore the normal view? BTW all the laptop keys work fine.

Software :: Frozen Desktop - Finder Not Responding
Mar 4, 2009When i log onto my old eMac under my profile, it loads the wallpaper and the toolbar but nothing else. Whenever the mouse passes over the desktop itself, it just turns into that little pinwheel that signifies a problem. Whenever I try to use Finder, it locks the computer up completely. All applications on the toolbar work, including firefox and iTunes, but since Finder is broken I can't use things like external drives. Is there any way to get my computer to halt whatever process is confusing my poor finder without hurting my iTunes?

Apr 30, 2012Loaded OS Lion on iMac yesterday and transferred mail from MobileMe to iCloud. Spent hours trying to get mail working on desktop but finally succeeded. Shutting down overnight caused mail to quit working again. However, if I go to iCloud website the mail works OK. I know others have had mail problems with Lion? I've tried just about everything from Apple support.

Jun 5, 2014My mail.app just doesn't work. I open it and every time it asked me to log in with my account. After i did it it just doesn't responding. There is no letters (inbox, or sent), no folders, no working buttons in menu. I couldn't even close it. It isn't disappearing from my dock, but i couldn't open it again. It's freezing. I should close it through opt+cmm+esc. Â

Sep 23, 2007i am pretty new at the mac-ness so i might just be dumb about everything....anyways i have a macBook thats just about 3 weeks old and something happened whenever i click the mail app it will load up like it wants to work but then no messages will show and when the curser is over the window there is a spinning ball, then i am have to force quit to close it...i tried running the 2 grey install disks (Mac OS X) thinking that might fix it but no...it didnt..
ps....my iphoto wont load either it just bounces once and nothing will happen, tried running iLife '08 a few times but nothing....mail app is more important but i wish to fix both

My inbox looks empty on the application even but, I logged into gmail on google and all the inbox messages were there.

May 12, 2012About 12 hours after installation the screen dimmed with a message that I need to restart the computer. I did so and now after startup I get a message on the screen that the Bluetooth keyboard can't be found. I actually have a hard wired keyboard, not a Bluetooth one, but there is no response to keys on the keyboard and I can't get rid of the screen message, even after a restart.

Jun 2, 2014I have a desktop Intel machine. Due to an error, it is trying to copy thousands of .jpg files onto the desktop. It keeps grinding away and I can'tdo anything else. The cursor is not frozen, but if I try anything I get the spinning wheel. I've tried restarting. I need to interrupt this copying and get all the photos off the desktop.

Feb 13, 2012My .mac mail is no longer appearing in the desktop mail app. Cannot send or receive and folders have disappeared. Have not changed anything that I am aware of. My other account is fine. .mac mail comes in fine on iphone and ipad. When using my laptop I can get to it and send from the icould site. What would have caused this/how can I get it back? It is still listed as an account in mail preferences.

Apr 25, 2012My "Caps Lock" key stopped functioning. Will not respond under the Keyboard Viewer either, though all the other keys do. Light will not come on, so I have to use the Shift key for each letter that I want to type in capital letters. I cannot find any on/off switches for that key under Help, or in System Preferences. Did I hit a key combinations somehow, that deactivated the Caps Lock Key? I have the bluetooth keyboard that came with my i7 IMAC.

May 7, 2012I have an imac desktop 10.6.8 and had two printers loaded on the system preferences. When I went to print, it would give me the multicolored spinning circle & when I went to escape, it said the program was "not responding". When I went to reset the printers & empty anything waiting to print, I lost all signs of either printer. When I put in the cd to reload & restarted, there was still no printer recognized.
