I am not able to import contacts from a .csv file to address book. The import stalls when I press ok and next at about no 4 of 300. For some reason, the import notes I have over 400 contacts when I have about 300.

I can't seem to import my contacts from me.com?

Using iTunes, I imported my contacts from my iPhone to my Mac. What I should have done is choose the Selected groups option (because I just want my iPhone contacts) but by mistake I chose All contacts, with the result that I ended up with lots of unwanted contacts (e.g. from my work MS Exchange account). So I have deleted all the contacts from my Address Book and want to start the sync process again.
I want to make sure I don't delete all my contacts from my iPhone.
If I tick "Sync Address Book Contacts", "All contacts" (all other options are greyed out) and click "Sync", what will happen? Will the fact that I have deleted all the contacts on my mac wipe the contacts from my iPhone when I press Sync?
If I uncheck the "Sync Address Book Contacts", I get a prompt telling me iTunes will no longer sync with my phone and asking me if I want to remove contacts previously synced to my iPhone. Out of caution I am choosing the option "Don't remove contacts".
I am unable to import older contacts to icloud.

My iPad [1] IOS 5 has a number of duplicate addresses, but does NOT include *all* my Contacts from my Mac. My Mac is OSX 10.7. I have selected iCloud as my storage, not 'my computer'I have tried deleting the iPad Contacts [iCloud>slider 'off'] but when I return the slider to 'on' the Contacts are repopulated, but with all the same duplicates and omissions as before. I have allowed a time delay; tried restarting the computer; nothing makes any difference. I am reduced to sending myself emails containing the missing addresses! In additon to the above... Pt2: the duplicates in iPad Contacts have more - eg repeating the Home address - or sometimes less, information. and if I add a name to a Group, there is immediately a duplicate entry created in the main address list [I could have >8 duplicated entries for one name if added to several group mailings] Deleting duplicates is pointless, as they reappear.

It would be super quick and easy for me if I'm able to import my contacts from my Blackberry into my Address Book, but is it possible?
I mean, of course I could create my address book on my own and manually enter my contacts one by one... but with a couple hundred of them, it would be soo nice to somehow automate this process...
I searched on this topic and just find old references to "Address Book" which i guess does not exist anymore.
I have an Excel worksheet of about 200 names, street addresses, and email addresses, one contact in each row. One column is the email addresses, which is all I want. If I could get the names too that would be nice.
I try the Contacts import command, but cannot import the section of the worksheet I want. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I highlight the contacts column in the worksheet and go to the file with the Contacts import command and find it is "dimmed" -- I cannot click on it.
I have a Numbers file which contains a library of my songs sorted either by artist or by song key (comes in handy when DJ'ing and I want to do some harmonic mixing)
Now I'd like to transfer this file to my iPhone, so I have it in the palm of my hand and so I don't have to leave my Digital Audio Workstation when playing .
How do I save a numbers file into the cloud from my mac? Downloading the file (from iCloud) editing and then Save a Version does not update the iCloud file.

I have a newly set up MacBook Pro with Lion 10.7.2. I have created a numbers file that is NOT saved on the Desktop. I have an icon of that file on the Desktop and can select it but the file doesn't exist. I have navigated to the folder as su in Terminal and the file doesn't exist. The icon shows on the Desktop though. The numbers document you can see above the selected is the numbers document that I saved after I had seen what I have described above. When I saved it there was no prompt to overwrite the file because it doesn't exist

I have some .numbers files that I need a friend to look at on her pc with Excel 2003 SP3, but it's not working for her. I have changed the extension to .xls but it's no good, as when she tries to open them they are all gobbledegook.
Here's a snapshot of the various files I have, but notice how the icons for each is different, or rather that there are two distinct designs? Some of them DO open in Excel, but some do not.
Is there a size limit for importing an Excel File into Numbers? The error message says the file is too large. Has this been changed in i-work 09? The file has multiple sheets that refer to each other, but i can't even open at this point. It is 3.1 MB.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust found this and it works really well even on snow leopard. And best of all it's free. [URL:....] I just donwloaded some free patterns to try it out here. [URL:...] Import zip file and activate. Takes 2 seconds. Now if I can only have my old rainbow back that would be nice. I guess that will be the next test to make my own and see if it works. If I extract a pattern and right click and say compress. It also imports. So it works just as the original. So it shouldn't be too hard to make my own designs and rezip them. I just don't remember what info.plist does or how to edit that if I use my own design.

So i just upgraded my macbook form tiger to snow leopard. I decided to do a clean install as there was plenty on my computer which i didn't want or need. There are two things that if possible i would love to keep and those are my address book contacts and my calendar dates.
I have a Carbon Copy Clone of my computer done just before I upgraded the software on my computer.
So my question is, Is there a way to take a certain file or something and add it to my new address book and calendar rather than imputing all the info again?
Maybe there is another way to do this as well.
I am doing a project for my new website where I need to show select clips from movies I have downloaded. The movies are in .avi format and I use VLC to watch them. iMovie will not let me import these videos, how can I work around this? So I can edit them in Imovie.
