My 2.5 year old (wired) mighty mouse gave up the ghost recently, and I just replaced it with a new one today.
The thing is... it doesn't seem to scroll "down" as easily as it scrolls "up" and "left to right". (as it is right now, I have to apply a lot more pressure to scroll down than I do to scroll up or laterally)
Is there an adjustment I can make to get this thing to scroll "down" as easily and freely as it does "up"?Has anyone else had this sort of issue, or is it just me? Ok, Thanks.
I am considering eliminating my MacBook pro and buying 2 iMacs, one for the office and I for home. I would use my iPad for traveling. Can I synch my documents files between the 2 iMacs?

Is there some way to turn off the resizing of Icons on the desktop? I am getting tired of accidentally resizing my icons and moving the icons from where I am used to seeing them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a late 2006 macbook pro 17" with broken LCD screen casing. For now i used superglue to put it back together, but if the computer gets hot i think the superglue will melt and cause problems.i have been told its impossible to find a replacement screen for this model cheap enough to make it worthy of repair.I am thinking of turning it into a desktop by getting an external monitor. Can I remove the LCD screen entirely off the macbook pro so it's just the body, and then connect it to a new monitor? this way i can still use the keyboard/mouse, and not have to worry about the existing screen and superglue, melting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHad my 2.16 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 21" for two years. Installed software to monitor temperature, etc. The computer reads 90 degrees when I turn it on and up to 125 degrees after an hour or two.
Another issue, when I turn it on, it takes about one minute for all the items to appear on the desktop and before I can open Safari, Word, etc. (is this a long time??). During this time there is a very repetitive soft clicking sound coming from from the computer, (as if things are opening or being shuffled around?).History: I had Microsoft Office installed but removed it some time ago. Only 10 gb free on the 250 gb hardrive.
How do you turn off Show Desktop (Push All Windows Aside) on a iMac when using a mouse, I know how to do it on a MBP but I can't find anything in preferences on an iMac

When I updated to Mac OS 10.7.3, I noticed that whenever I moved an icon on my desktop, it would snap into a grid with the other apps. Does anyone know how to change this? If so, how?

Is there an app that lets me disconnect/connect Leopard from my DSL quickly and easily, maybe from the desktop? Is this the only OS in existence that doesn't allow for this? Previous Macs had Internet Disconnect; on my PC I can do it with 2 clicks. I know i can reconfigure each time in Sys Prefs, but what a pain.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI want to run some terminal commands fairly often... yet I don't want to have to type them. I just switched from windows, so I need some help as to how to do this.
In windows I would've just used a batch file to run command prompt commands. I need something that will let me just run it and it will automatically run the commands.
Just an easy way to do this task?

View 6 Replies View Relatedjust got a 2nd ATI 3870 for my Mac Pro 2008. THe fan is just as loud or slightly louder than the 1st one. *ugh*. So I downloaded smcFanControl 2.2.2 to see if I can up the fan settings to cool the machine down to hopefully slow lower the fans on the 3870's.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a clear speck case for the MBA. I noticed that the case weighs a little bit and when the top cover is on, at a certain angle, it closes the MBA due to the sheer weight.
Over time, will this loosen the hinge?
On another point, how the **** do you get the top cover off easily? I scratched the cover with a credit card the first time around! The thing is almost impossible to pry off!
I want to swap motherboards from one machine with cpus attached to another machine.
Is it difficult?

On windows, when you open a photo within a folder, you have the options to scroll through that entire folder just by clicking the right or left arrow key. Is there any way to do this on a Mac? It's a pain having to click on every photo, close it and open the next one, just to see all the photos in one folder.

I want to work out how to easily delete photos in aperture. I'm talking the crap ones that I have imported (either from camera or an unedited folder) and want to get rid of entirely (not versions). It seems ridiculously cumbersome, with 3 clicks needed.
I'm ex-windows and I could just scroll through and delete, happy as Larry.
I have about 40 documents I'd like to merge into one huge document. How do I do that all at once? I don't want to open them individually and merge them into the document one by one.

Have you scratched it yet and how easily would you say it scratches. I am speaking of the white and aluminum parts.
