View 7 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I am here at work, and have spent the last 4-5 hours trying to resolve this issue, and cannot find any working solutions for it on the internet. We have .3gp recordings. All of a sudden, we started getting this error on some of our computers. Â Example: I want to play test.3gp; I try to open test.3gp in QuickTime, and I get an error that reads...Â
"Error -2002: A bad public movie atom was found in the movie:test.3gp" But when I go to play test2.3gp, it plays fine. This issue varies from computer to computer. I get this error on all three of my machines. 2 Windows 7 64bit, and 1 Windows 7 32bit. My colleague and boss can play test.3gp fine through QuickTime on their computers. One is Windows 7 64bit the other is 32bit.Â
Anyone know some causes of this and hopefully a way to solve it? I tried cleaning up registry errors, running as administrator, updating, reinstalling... Nothing is working.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a DVD with an unprotected 'home movie' on it (my daughter's camp musical). I want to import it to my mac and convert it into an mp4 movie. I intend to do two things with it: Upload it to my SMUGMUG account so others can view it and save it to my movies folder for future viewing. I may even wish to burn it to another DVD.Â

I quit iTunes and my rental movie disappeared after watching half of the movie. The rental sidebar disappeared as well. What do I do to retrieve my movie?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Snow Leopard installed with the latest Quicktime.
When viewing a movie file in my browser in Leopard, I was able to right click on it and save a copy to my desktop/computer. Now, I can't seem to enable this option...I have no way of saving a movie to my computer. Am I missing something? How does one do this now, do I need to click on a specific spot?
I have already rented several HD movies straight to my iPad (1) and never had a problem. Tonight however I decided to try a new thing and insted of renting straight to the iPad I tried to rent it in iMac first (iTunes) and than move it to the iPad (thought the download could be quicker and was right: it took some 15min to download an HD movie with the iMac when it normaly takes some 45min with the iPad on the same network).Â
The problem is, when I try to move the movie into the iPad and click "Apply", I get the message saying that "This movie can not play on this iPad".... I tried to do it directkly on the iPad (and paid for the movie again...) and it downloaded just fine... (though it took 45 minutes).Â

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been getting the "error -36" "operation could not be completed because file "" could not be read or written when trying to backup one external firewire drive to another drive (either another external firewire, or my internal startup drive). After the error, the copy operation will hang and be impossible to cancel, forcing a find relaunch about 50% of the time.
-Disk Utility finds no problems with the disk
-The filenames do not contain illegal characters
-If I try enough times the problem file(s) will eventually copy, but then another file will become the problem, suggesting that the file itself is NOT actually corrupted. After successful copy, the file (an MP3) plays just fine. Subsequently, I will have trouble copying that same file again.
There are no strange noises from the HD and I can feel the vibrations from it spinning as normal. My guess is that the HD is on its last legs and is acting flaky but that the data is still OK. What can I do to rescue the data before the damn thing dies completely? Now before anyone jumps on me to UTFSE, I have searched extensively, but havent found anything that addresses my specific situation (especially the part about the files being randomly OK and not OK.
I've done a complete re-installation af Snow Leopard.
When trying to restore the library/mail folder via Time Machine i'm told: "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for "mail'" I seems to me that i have both privileges to read and write in the folder. I can't place the backed up files in a different folder either?
I have no problems restoring my pictures and the likes from time machine?
while installing the update stops and says the update is not completed and there is no problem with the network!
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to copy large files over to my Network Attached Storage device, such as Movies or TV Shows, It comes up with the following message, (see picture below) even though I have no other Applications open in my Dock. Is there something I'm missing? It's an intermittent fault too which suggests something wrong is going on, which probably isn't my fault.

I have some pics that I want to put titles into/onto. I am putting together a poster. The top of the poster has a picture. I want to put some text on top of/into the pic. What is a SIMPLE and EASY TO USE app where I can open the pic and type in the text and do some formatting? I do not want a 'template' app. The one's in pages don't work for this project. Oh, I want it to be able to use the fonts I have. A program that gives me limited fonts is NOT going to work. Â
