Intel Mac :: Use More Than One IPod With It?
Jun 3, 2012
When I got a new iPod (iPod Touch), I gave my old iPod (iPod classic) to my brother. Can I connect that old iPod to my Mac too? If so, will the computer load all the songs currently in my iTunes onto that old iPod too? If so, this is fine.
My fear is that when I connect the old iPod, it will revert back to only the songs that are on the old iPod (which is about half of the songs currently in my iTunes) and that all the songs I have bought/downloaded since I got my new iPod will be lost. Is it even possible that this could happen?

the reason i am here in this one to one conversation its because my ipod got stolen on a Wedsnday; to be exact February 15th. I was in my third period class, which was gym and when i went to go look for my ipod since we had free choice of exercise, i didnt find my ipod but my headphones were in my bag, and my phone was there to. By a suprise where i left my ipod, they took out everything that was covering the ipod and just left my pink headphones. I'm here because i would like to replace my ipod.I know my apple id account, and password. I have the app locate my ipod.Sadly i couldnt locate it because it wasnt turned on.

my IPad is a first gen, 64G and my IPod touch is a 3rd gen, also 64G.
when I try to sync my IPad it keeps saying "The iPad cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional 14.39 GB required)."
There is still 20 gigs of free space left on the IPad and 247 gigs left on my hardrive so, I don't know why it's saying that and when I plug in my IPod touch it says it cannot sync because an unknown error occurred (13019)
recently I had to get my computer wiped and this is the first time trying to sync my devices since then. I had to re-download everything. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Also can IPads be bugged? mine constanly crashes and sometimes it randomly opens a different app usually when I'm in safari. It also constanly freezes lot's of times in ITunes or watching movies the screen turns black.
oh and I have a Mac from 2007, with leapord, I'm pretty sure my ITunes account is up to date.

iPad, iOS 5.1

I have a Intel based Mac using Lion. After charging/syncing my iPod or my wifes iPod, and attempting to unmount / eject the iPods, the iPod's display a connected status. Disconnecting the iPods result in a hung OSX, forcing a power off to reboot. All software is up-to-date on all devices.

can I boot from my HP iPod via firewire on a 2007 imac or an i7 MBP? in other words, do early iPods play nice w/ intel macs via firewire? the reason I ask is because I'm tempted by OWC's 40GB SSD sale and want to try SSD's without the risk that comes w/ surgery (save for the old iPod).

I originally had an iPod touch, and recently bought myself an iMac and I love them both.
One problem confuses me though. I recently paired my iPod to my iMac through bluetooth, because I normally keep my cable in my car for playing my music while I am driving.
I'm trying to do a simple task of sending photos and videos taken via my iPod to store on my iMac via bluetooth. It seems when I go to the 'Browse Device' option for the iPod, this is not supported, it says that the device does not have the neccessary services or something.
Now I have done a bit of research, and discovered an App for doing this, which I have to pay for...
Am I missing something here? Surely this is a feature that should be the most basic of basic of basic features that anybody who has paid out a massive amount of money for a really good computer should have as standard? Afterall, they are both Apple products, and one of the selling points of Apple is that all Apple products work seamlessly together, in sincing and all that jazz. Don't get me wrong, I love both products, they do work pretty **** well, when a cable is used... but surely, I must be missing something. Bluetooth has been out for years and years, and Apple are supposed to be so good at this sort of thing?
Anyhoo, I'm sure that there's a simple feature I'm missing, and one of you inteligent Apple boffins will be able to enlighten me as to what I'm doing wrong, for example maybe there's a Wifi feature I should be using instead?.. I've only been using an Apple for a few weeks so far, and I'm still getting used to it.

Just upgraded to the iPhone OS 3.0 on my 1st gen iPod Touch and when I turn the volume up whilst it's in the iPod Hi-Fi, the volume dips when I've finished turning it up... When I push the volume up again the volume slider on the iPod touch then moves down to where it dipped.it's quite hard to explain! Basically, when I turn the volume up to 50%, the sound dips to 25%.... the slider still shows 50% until I press the volume up button and it would move the slider to 25%. (If I wanted to play my music at 50% I would have to turn it up to 75% and wait for it to dip to 50%!)I have reset the iPod touch and restored it but the problem still exists. OS 1.0 and 2.0 didn't have this problem. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a solution?

My girlfriend and I attended the Toronto Raptors game last nightFor those of you from Toronto, we parked below the Novotel Hotel on the Esplande. Since both of us were coming from work we had are valuables in the trunk. (we both placed are stuff in the trunk prior to arriving at the location). Well when we arrived back to the car we noticed the back passenger side window was smashed in and the trunk was empty. We weren't the only ones who were robbed in that lot, there was at least one other car that was broken into according to the hotel staff. The police seem to think it was a drug addicts looking for items to sell for drugs and that it is not a coincidence that it was during a Raptors game. The lot has no cameras due to construction being done, so for those in Toronto who frequent Leafs or Raptors games do not park there, it's a cheap alternative but not worth the risk.

Can I use my iBook running Mac OSX 10.3.9? Is there any software that will let me do this for free? I would like to give her a DVD of her music if possible.

I am by far not computer savvy and I own a G4 running OS 10.3.9. I recently bought a new iPod nano for my daughters 9yr birthday. This was all she wanted for her birthday. As I tried to get this going my G4 would not accept the new device. I later found out I need to purchase a system upgrade in order to use the iPod. I can barely afford the iPod let alone the extra $129.00 to use it. I feel financially violated and duped. I dont know if I'm upset at Apple or Best Buy, or both, for not making it clear about this issue to the computer laymens, like myself, in the world before shelling out the hard earned cash to purchase the iPod nano. I am really upset and want to see if this has happened to others out there.

I cannot seem to get my iPod to work with my new Air. I plug it in and nothing happens. I have tried many times. Once or twice the iPod has shown that it is charging but not every time. I have read that a MAc formatted iPod will not work on a PC but that a PC formatted one should work on a Mac. Mine is Formatted for Windows. I have not had a MAc since the early nineties so basically I am new to them. Also tried the only other USB device I have which is a Lacie floppy drive and nothing happens when I plug it in either. Am I just missing something obvious or do I have a faulty USB port?

I have an iPHone and iPod shuffle and am pretty new to using iTunes.
I'm reinstalling my OS and basically will have a new computer when I'm done.
Is there any way to save the songs and playlists that I put on my iPhone and iPod shuffle?
I did a test run and sync'd my shuffle to a new machine and it erased everything but fortunately I re-sync'd it back on my present machine so I still have everything.

A friend of mine PC's hard drive fried recently. He's was thoroughly sick of his ageing PC anyway and I convinced him to buy his first Mac. Anyway, he hadn't backed anything up from his PC. He's not too worried about this bar the fact he's lost all of his music.
Fortunately, he's got his entire music library stored on his iPod. Now, I've don't know the first thing about iPods. Is there an easy way to transfer all of his music from his iPod into iTunes on his new iMac? He's worried about losing his music, unsurprisingly.

My wife's 5th gen Nano won't stay mounted on her Macbook, but when I plug it in to my iMac, it stays mounted just fine. It mounts for a minute, checks itself with iTunes, syncs, and then unmounts from the desktop. What gives? This doesn't happen when it is connected to my iMac.
