MacBook Air :: Seem To Get IPod To Work With New Air?
Mar 7, 2008
I cannot seem to get my iPod to work with my new Air. I plug it in and nothing happens. I have tried many times. Once or twice the iPod has shown that it is charging but not every time. I have read that a MAc formatted iPod will not work on a PC but that a PC formatted one should work on a Mac. Mine is Formatted for Windows. I have not had a MAc since the early nineties so basically I am new to them. Also tried the only other USB device I have which is a Lacie floppy drive and nothing happens when I plug it in either. Am I just missing something obvious or do I have a faulty USB port?
My iPod Touch only turns on when its docked on my radio/ipod dock but will immediately turn off as soon as I take it from it. It won't even turn on and sync when connected to my macbook. The iPod has never had battery problems or anything else wrong with it.
I was wondering if ipod touch and iphone accessories work with the new ipad.Things like 3.5mm headsets, usb wall and car chargers, microphones, etc. Basically everything that plugs into your ipod and iphone.
My girlfriend and I attended the Toronto Raptors game last nightFor those of you from Toronto, we parked below the Novotel Hotel on the Esplande. Since both of us were coming from work we had are valuables in the trunk. (we both placed are stuff in the trunk prior to arriving at the location). Well when we arrived back to the car we noticed the back passenger side window was smashed in and the trunk was empty. We weren't the only ones who were robbed in that lot, there was at least one other car that was broken into according to the hotel staff. The police seem to think it was a drug addicts looking for items to sell for drugs and that it is not a coincidence that it was during a Raptors game. The lot has no cameras due to construction being done, so for those in Toronto who frequent Leafs or Raptors games do not park there, it's a cheap alternative but not worth the risk.
I have searched this forum site, and there is a specific app that was mentioned to rip music from your ipod to mac in which i think the first 1000 songs were free. I am having a hard time remembering the name of it, can someone help me out please?ipod to mac is not free as it asks for a registration code (unless I am doing something wrong)I believe it started with an x

I have an old macbook that has all my songs on, as well as my iPod. I have recently got an iMa which currently has no music on, how would I transfer the music from the iPod to the new iMac, or alternatively from the old Macbook to the iMac?
Just upgraded to the iPhone OS 3.0 on my 1st gen iPod Touch and when I turn the volume up whilst it's in the iPod Hi-Fi, the volume dips when I've finished turning it up... When I push the volume up again the volume slider on the iPod touch then moves down to where it dipped.it's quite hard to explain! Basically, when I turn the volume up to 50%, the sound dips to 25%.... the slider still shows 50% until I press the volume up button and it would move the slider to 25%. (If I wanted to play my music at 50% I would have to turn it up to 75% and wait for it to dip to 50%!)I have reset the iPod touch and restored it but the problem still exists. OS 1.0 and 2.0 didn't have this problem. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a solution?
i just got a new mac and didnt want to migrate everything so that i could keep this new mac "clean" of my old stuff however im having a hell of a time transfering ical and address book over! Most importantly i got a new ipodtouch also and im wondering if anyone know how to transfer the stickie notes from my old ipod to new ipod?
My granddaughter has a formated iPod for windows and her computer crashed. The iPod is having problems. She would like to backup her music, but she doesn't have access to a computer. Can I use my iBook running Mac OSX 10.3.9? Is there any software that will let me do this for free? I would like to give her a DVD of her music if possible.
the reason i am here in this one to one conversation its because my ipod got stolen on a Wedsnday; to be exact February 15th. I was in my third period class, which was gym and when i went to go look for my ipod since we had free choice of exercise, i didnt find my ipod but my headphones were in my bag, and my phone was there to. By a suprise where i left my ipod, they took out everything that was covering the ipod and just left my pink headphones. I'm here because i would like to replace my ipod.I know my apple id account, and password. I have the app locate my ipod.Sadly i couldnt locate it because it wasnt turned on.

My wife's 5th gen Nano won't stay mounted on her Macbook, but when I plug it in to my iMac, it stays mounted just fine. It mounts for a minute, checks itself with iTunes, syncs, and then unmounts from the desktop. What gives? This doesn't happen when it is connected to my iMac.
Just a quick question -- do you know if it is possible to use the microphone on my iPod touch's headphones on my Macbook Pro by plugging it into the microphone jack? If not, any recommendations as to how I can go about doing something like that?
So i decided not to sell my free ipod touch, however my mbp won't recognize that i've plugged the ipod touch in. I spoke on the phone with applecare and was able to restore the touch but neither the laptop or itunes will even recognize it's there. However, applecare is closed now and i would really like to be able to use it for work tomorrow.
I know my usb ports work, i've tried 3 different cables, tried restarting the touch , the ipod touch charges but since it's new the startup screen telling me to plug it into the computer, is all i can access on the touch. I just updated itunes and restarted my mbp and still nothing.
i recently received an ipod from a friend. It is in windows format and i have a macbook and for some reason when i plug it in to the usb port it will charge but itunes doesnt recognize it nor does it pop up on the desktop.
Can we run our applications from our iPod touch on our MacBook Pro? I have several games on my iPod I would like to be able to play on my MacBook. I tried looking them up on the app store on the computer, but they don't appear in the options list. Also I tried running straight from iTunes, but that also does not open the application.
Info: MacBook Pro, I am running the new version of Lion.
I have an iPod Hi-Fi, and I would like to use it as a speaker for my Macbook. I just want to know whether this is feasible, and if so, what cable do I need to get the maximum out of my iPod Hi-Fi?
I am looking for a way to synch my iTunes library on my macbook like an iPod. Basically, my main iTunes library on my mac mini is HUGE. Way bigger than will fit on the 250gb drive on my macbook. So I am looking for a way to sync my macbook in the same fashion as an iPod. I want to choose a few playlists to send over and keep synced. Maybe 50gb or so of data so that when I am away from my main computer I can have music with me. The reason I want to do this is my 30GB ipod recently dove off the deep end and I dont have the finances to get a new one yet. But I usually have my laptop with me most places and like to listen to music. I have found ways to keep 2 libraries synced but not be able to partially sync one. Anyone have any ideas on how or if this is even possible?
I have a 1st generation ipod (10g) and a new macbook pro. I don't have firewire on the macbook pro and need a cable that will work so I can transfer music from my old ipod onto my macbook. I have a 400/800 firewire adapter which connect fine to my ipod, but doesn't connect to my macbook.
I have lost my iPod touch for half a year. I want to find my serial number on my Mac. I have searched on the internet but the guides is for Windows. My iTunes version is 10.6 (40)
I just bought a MacBook Air yesterday due to my PC crashing. I was able to transfer music and pictures from my iPhone 4 onto the computer, but I cant transfer music files from my ipod classic.
I connected my iPod nano to my MacBook Air, and opened iTunes to put the music I had just bought onto the iPod. Usually an icon appears on the main screen and on the right hand corner of my music list that says"Add to", so you can click that and drag music to your iPod download list. The screen on the iPod should have said "Do not disconnect charger" but nothing happened. The iPod only charged. This happened once before, and it randomly just started working. This time it won't work.
I have a lot of music on my iPad that I'd like to move across to my MacBook. I can't see how to do this. If I sync them, will the small amount of music on my MacBook replace the big library on my iPad?
If you order a macbook pro, will you be able to get the new iPod touch or the old one?I tried making an order and it looks like it links to the old one, I just wanted to know if anybody is in the same boat as me.
