imac keeps searching for network?

I think there is an icon error in OS X Yosemite. The third icon above is slightly larger than all the other icons, distorting the WiFi signal when searching for a WiFi network.
Info:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
My network uses WPA2 Enterprise EAP-TLS WIFI encryption, and I have a RADIUS server that handles this. Client devices have a certificate and username that they send to authenticate to the network. I have an iPad, an iPhone, and a Windows 7 laptop computer that all currently connect perfectly fine to this network (so I am assuming that my problem is isolated my MacBook Pro). My MacBook Pro (Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3) worked fine up until about a week ago. It would boot up and automatically connect to the network (I used the iPhone Configuration utility to create a .mobileconfig for this).Â
Now, however, instead of the WIFI menubar icon staying solid after connecting, my MacBook will "connect" to the network, and have a status of "Authenticating..." (System Preferences > Network). I can still connect to the network, internet, etc., but the menubar icon is now constantly blinking as if connecting/searching (though when I click on it there is a checkmark next to my network), and I am continually prompted every 5-10 minutes to select a certificate and username for connecting to the network by the Mac OS (even though I click "Save this information"). If I don't enter the information in the prompt, I am not connected anymore. This did not happen before. Is there something wrong with the mobileconfig I used for the network profile (I installed it using a normal user account; should I have used the administrator account for this?)? Is there something wrong with the items in my keychain?Â

Is there a way or an app that can search for different images across various volumes? I need to locate 200 images for an InDesign file across 3 server volumes.Â
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I've got an odd problem, here's the scenario: 27" iMac 2.8GHz Quad Core running OS X 10.7.1, and a netgear router (connected to a Comcast modem). It sees the network, connects then drops the network. However, a MacBook Air running 10.6.8, an iPad, and a Sony Viao running Windows 7 can connect and stay connected to the network fine. This made me think that something with the iMac's WiFi card is broken so we brought it to work and connected it to our network (802.11x, WPA2 Enterprise, Cisco routers) and it worked perfectly. He brought it back home, still couldn't connect to his network. We brought it to the campus Apple store and they replaced the airport card and it seemed to resolve the problem for a bit, but now the issue has come back.Yesterday we did a full time machine back up, wiped the hard drive and did a full OS X Lion re-install and restored from the Time Machine back up, ran all of the Apple software updates and it connected to the WiFi here at work fine.Brought it home, still won't connect to his network. This would make me think that it's an issue with his home network but all the other devices are working fine.We had a Comcast technician look at the network and they found nothing wrong.

This only started after I upgraded to Lion. I would swear I saw it in an update from Apple after that, too, but the iMac doesn't find any updates and is still doing it. When I wake the iMac, it doesn't go look for wifi. I have to click on the symbol and choose the network. Since I'm used to just clicking Safari.

Why does my imac keep logging off of wifi? Why cant i stream music?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an older (white) iMac that connects wirelessly to my Linksys router. I bought a new iMac and I am unable to connect both iMacs wirelessly at the same time. I was wondering if the issue had to do with using the same Apple ID's, but I don't think that is the case. It seems like the old iMac is connected to the router, the new one wont connect and vise versa.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a 2010 imac and it is very slow on wifi,i have done a side by side test with my macbook pro in the same room, the mbp gives me 45mb download speed while the imac gives 16mb . the only way i can get it faster is to unplug it from the mains,it will then be similar to the mbp,but will slowly get worse again over a few hours. i have tried all the solutions on the forums, the os is up to date.

I've seen this question asked before, but it was all related to people who are running lion. I have 10.5.8, which I believe is leopard. Whenever I try to connect to airport, I get my network from the list, enter the password then I get a connection timeout after about 15 seconds. We have had this problem for a while now. We just got a new router this week and I'm still have this problem.

The Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting (all networks), although they continue to be available on my iPhone, Mac Book Air (OS X Lion 10.7.3) and another PC. I have to reselect the network manually in the shortcut (top right of the screen), a few seconds later I am connected again. The problems seems to be related to inactivety on the iMac. For example if you are reading some pages, without any key strokes or mouse activity, but there does not seem to be any specific time for repeatability of the problem. It is just anoying. I have a month old iMac 21.5" running Lion and a 17" Macbook Pro on SL From out of the box, I have had wifi issues with the iMac that have become worse since installing the wifi update last week. While my Macbook connects and stays connected with no issue, the iMac dropps the connection and looses all Access Points every 30 minutes to an hour. This is becoming a real head ache as I do allot of Facetime / Webnars.Â

Several times a day, my iMac loses my wi-fi signal. I'm receiving wi-fi from a Comcast cable modem connected to a Time capsule. No other device in the house loses the signal.

In 'network preferences' after I select the 'airport' network (Apple Network) I then select the 'Advanced' button. I open the 'Apple Network' and select 'WEP Password' in the Security field. I type in the password and hit 'Add', then 'Apply' then 'OK'.If I then turn the airport off then back on, or I turn the machine off and re-boot. The preference seems to revert automatically back to a Security status of 'None' seemingly overwritting my 'WEP Password' selection meaning no password is avaiable for my wi-fi

My Lion OS 10.7.3 iMac just does not seem to be able to hold a stable connection with my home wifi network. After around ten minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less, usually when I've gotten up to do something else, the wifi is lost. It stays "connected" to the network (ie the wifi bars are black) but no internet comes through. Every time this happens, I turn WiFi off and reconnect and it fixes it every time, but it is still extremely inconvenient and troublesome to have to redo this constantly.
