Intel Mac :: Does The HP Colour Laserjet 1500L Work With Lion
Feb 15, 2012
Does the HP colour Laserjet 1500L work with Lion? The computer is aware of the presence of the printer but nothing prints. It simple states that the status of the job is "error".
New to using Mac's... this is an older desktop but I haven't had any issues with it yet. I went on to use it and the colour was a yellow/orange looking colour and it changes the way pictures and text look on the computer. Is there a way I can troubleshoot this problem or is it something to do with the monitor itself?
I've found out the hard way that Snow Leopard does not support the same printers as Leopard did and now I'm stuck. I spent the better part of the day researching how to get my HP LaserJet 4m Plus to work with the new OS and got nowhere. Can anyone tell me what I can do to get the printer to work with the new OS? The printer may be old but it functions flawlessly and only has about 50,000 impressions made, so it still has lots of life. I have it hooked up via ethernet and the cable is run under the floor to the other side of the office so adapting a serial/USB would not be doable or practical. I don't have the money to blow on a new printer so I would really like to make this work somehow. Any help would be much appreciated.
I have problems to works my hp laserjet P1005 on my mac, I have installed the CD provide with my printer and I have installed too the drivers from the official HP Web page, but my printer it's no working yet. I want to know how I can do works my printer if it's possible.
My Laserjet 1020 worked perfectly with a downloaded driver on the MAC OS X but since installing the Snow Leopard it is a no go. Anyone with an idea to make it work would be appreciated. "Plug in your printer, and Snow Leopard makes sure you have the most up-to-date printer driver. If not, it downloads the newest version."....seems to be a mis-statement of facts.
Does anybody know if there is a USB parallel adapter that would work for my HP LaserJet 2100 to hook up to my new iMac?i read a couple of recommendations for other models, but not specific for this my printer and mac. They are all around $40 with no free shipping, so I would hate to spend money on it, and it not working, and i could have just invest in a new printer. Thanks for any advice.
How does one add an HP LaserJet 4000N to a TimeCapsule based network with systems running 10.7.4? I had it working fine with a PowerPC based iMac; however, although I have the correct driver and have the printer hardwired to the network, it does not appear on the network, e.g., you do not see it in the Add Printer lists.
This past week I have had serious problems trying to get my Imac to print to a HP Laserjet 4100. Parallel port to USB.Driver version 18.4 THe Imac is less than a year old and runs on Lion. I have had intermittent problems ongoing but this time it keeps showing messages -Not connected.
Usually when I go into preferences and click hold, on and off a couple of time or delete document and try again it would work OK but this time I have deleted printer, reset printing system etc numerous times and it still does not print.Sometimes when I unplug and re-plug in the USB connection it does not even recognise the printer is plugged in.
I have tried connecting the printer to a completely different computer and it appeard to work ok so it does not seem to be the cable at fault. Does anyone have a similar problem and more important does anyone have a solution.
Info: iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
My Dell printer CN 3000 is not printing any colour with my I Mac, I understand I may need to download something to erase this problem. Can somebody point me in the right direction for the appropriate download.
I have a problem causing my colour wheel to turn on excessivley (especially i have noticed in OUTLOOK ever half sentence or so!!). I thought that a complete erase and reinstall would remove this, however it has not.
Do you have any idea why this may be happening and what I can do to stop it please?
MacBook Pro Early 2011; Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5; Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53); Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
10.7.4 build 11E53 keeps resetting my desktop background colour after waking up. I have set it to a solid colour. No pictures or anything fancy. Everytime she wakes up, background colour is set to light grey.
Why were the colour icons taken away from the finder and itunes sidebars and and replaced with grey monochrome shade icons. Have apple rectified this yet? It doesn't make sense to me why they changed this. On another note, can the the sidebar be changed back to the right hand side in preview (when opening PDF's). It has always been on the right in snow leopard and tiger. It seems to me that their has been too many unnecessary changes in the Lion operating system.
Before the 10.7.4 update, my HP Color LaserJet CM2320nf multi fucntion printer worked just fine with the built in OS X print drivers. I had the printer shared on the network via my iMac (2011) over USB and other devices could print to it via Bonjour.
As soon as the 10.7.4 update hit, printing has been an issue. Whenever a print job is sent to the printer over the network the printer displays a 'Please Insert Paper' warning that has to be cleared on the device itself before the print will continue, even though the printer is full of paper... This does not happen when printing from the iMac itself, only when using the iMac to share the printer.
10.7.4 seems to have been a really buggy update as it has caused problems with Wifi becoming unusable until the iMac is rebooted.
I've just done an Apple software upgrade & its changed the colour of the background on "log in" boxes for all the sites I now visit via my isp?The background colour is now black - which makes it impossible to see what you have typed.
I just upgraded to Lion and pdfs won't print. It doesn't appear to be the printer driver, because the printer works with others apps. It's an HP Laserjet 1300. Yes, it's old, but still works, well, sometimes. just not with pdfs.
I've noted that HP Laserjet 2550 will only take one job and then then the iMac will claim it is waiting for the printer to become available (forever). Unplugging/replugging the USB will not clear this though the driver does note that it is unplugged/replugged.
It seems like the printer doesn't know that the last job was done and thus holds off all other jobs.
The only way to take another job is to power-cycle the printer.
I keep getting a printer out of toner error message when I try to print to a networked HP Laserjet m2727. The printer is connected to a D-Link router. Other PCs on the network can print just fine to the same printer.
I just added a Time Capsule to my network and my printer was working fine this morning. Now Lion says it is not connected and when I attempt to download the software from Apple it says it's not available at this time.
