My bluetooth wirless keyboard suddenly stopped working. It started with the low battery alert, so I changed the batteries, however after replacing the batteries, it stopped working even though it says connected.

My iMac's built-in bluetooth suddenly stopped working. Can I troubleshoot or replace it? It is an early 2008 Intel iMac. Suddenly the Bluetooth logo changed to the one with the jagged line through it. Bluetooth no longer shows in System Prefs. In the hardware list under Bluetooth it now says, No information found.

NO issues until this morning. Put computer to sleep and it would not boot back up properly (stuck on Apple boot screen and it FINALLY came on after many tries). Now my wifi or ethernet won't actually "connect" to the internet. It says connected under network preferences and it's green, but I have no internet connection...Â

I installed 10.5.7 yesterday. Immediately after the installation was complete, my Apple bluetooth keyboard stopped working. Went into Bluetooth system settings, and it said that there was no bluetooth hardware found... (it's built into the machine!!)...
Also, every time I start iTunes, it gives some weird error about Adobe Flash player. I'm not at home now so I don't have the exact wording of the error with me, sorry...
I accidentally turn off bluetooth so my wireless mouse and keyboard didn't work, how to bring it back.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIt seems that during my afternoon class, I shut down my macbook and then when I went to use it about 10 minutes later the keyboard nor the trackpad works. Now the keyboard/trackpad is not defective as it works via the OSX install cd and it works in Windows Vista (dual booted) When ever I start up OSX it just comes up and the mouse is in the upper left hand corner, and the keyboard doesn't work at all. I have tried a pram reset by pressing command + option + p + r and that did nothing. When I am in OSX the only way to get out is to hold down the power button till the macbook turns off. What else could be wrong is there anything I can do, the nearest Apple store is about 80 miles away so I am trying to avoid that at this point as it seems like a software issue.

Strangely, some of the keys have switched functions: expose opens a search bar, keyboard dimmer refreshes the webpage, keyboard brighter selects the web address, play/pause is now shows Spaces, skip forward is expose, and sound increase is dashboard. I have an Apple wireless keyboard and the F1 and F2 keys don't work. I am connecting to a early 2010 Mac mini and running OS X 10.7.4. Seemed like it quit working when I updated to 10.7.4. I've reset my SMC and PRAM twice. Is this a 10.7.4 bug? Any fixes?

All of a sudden the copy and paste function just stopped working. I'm running a 2007 imac intel with Snow Leopard on it. Tried rebooting several times. I'm not even sure it's the paste, it will not copy. Not with key command, not with right click, not with drop menu. Tried different keyboard.

My Wireless mac keypad has stopped properly working. The keys sometime do not correspond to the result, or a a simultaneous duel actio, for example when the delete button is pressed the. Ursor does go backwards, but it also turns the sound up. The keyboard is properly connected to the computer, and the battery life is up in the nineties.Â

The iMac's hard drive had just been fixed by a shop and the OS re-installed. To my surprise I didn't need to do anything to get it to recognize both bluetooth keyboard and mouse - it just worked! Wow.Â
Until yesterday. I took out the keyboard batteries, charged them, and put them back in. Â
Now I get the login prompt where I have to enter a password. The only problem is, I can't enter a password without a keyboard! And it doesn't recognize the keyboard. Â
I tested the keyboard with my MacBook Pro - it works just fine. So I believe that somehow the iMac thinks it's still paired with the keyboard, while the keyboard knows nothing about this. And between those two things it doesn't work.Â
I restarted multiple times, and tried to start from another partition by holding down option - the problem is the iMac doesn't recognize the keyboard at startup either.
I tried an SMC reset and all. It was working, system locked had to reboot, and then a looking for bluetooth keyboard dialouge came up on restart. I got out of that, worked with mouse for a while, then realized my usb keyboard was not working. I reset SMC, tried different USB ports, Everything.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was using my laptop as usual and the keyboard just stopped working, tried the trackpad and it was also gone. Used an USB mouse to get to preferences and no trackpas is being recognized by the laptop. I wanted to activate bluetooth to use an external keyboard but no bluetooth device is recognized inside neither.Â
Rebooted, powered off & on, plugged the MagSafe connector, tried without power and then used the three-prong power cable plugged it into a grounded outlet. No change, keyboard, trackpad and bluetooth are dead.Â
This laptop never showed any issues at all and, as I mentioned, I was working as usual with it.Â

I have had an iMac since 2010 and everything has been great however recently my batteries needed changing in my wirless keyboard, when i chenged them all of a sudden two rows of letters would not work.all of the function buttons work fine as do the numbers and the line of letters with q,w,e,r,t however the row with a,s,d,f and z,x,c,v do not. (except for the capslock button)They keyboard has not been dropped i simply changed the batteries and they stopped working.I have tried hooking the keyboard up to my macbook pro and the same thing happens.as i am reluctant to drive an hour to my nearest apple store, for them just to tell me its broke and i need to pay £57 for a new one.
