Can't find this ANYWHERE, even on Apple's site. Maybe I've overlooked it, if you find it, point me to it. What are the measurements of the new Magic Mouse (length, width, and height)? If anybody has one and doesn't care to measure. I can't get a new Mac (yet), so I'm going to appease myself with a new, shiny mouse. I want to see how it compares to my Kensington ci70 wireless mouse.

asically I am looking at buying a 27" iMac (will be getting after WWDC just incase they bring new ones out!) and would love to be able to play PS3 on it. I have heard on here that it is possible but you need to buy an adaptor, however I cannot find any adaptors for sale on British websites, only American.

I' m pretty sure in that in daily use the computer is much faster and responsive whit this SSD drive but anyone can tell me how much this benefit are visible?
I know there have been threads about this topic already, but I haven't found a single one that suits me. I just purchased a new i7 and want some framerates and a decent idea of what to expect when I get home and start using this bad boy. I don't do any real heavy gaming - mostly just old school titles...quake 3, counterstrike, escape velocity (kidding). I plan on playing some starcraft 2 and was mostly curious if I would be able to run the game on utlra at native res. What sort of framerates are you all seeing with sc2?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've got a Refurbished 2009 27' model. Looking for a snazzy external hard drive for time machine.
Since my iMac has Firewire 800, that's the best route. It's also 2 TB's so that's the storage I'm looking for.
How does this look:

As iMac users, our time machines are always exterior so let's post 'em here!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently use a macbook pro, but it's getting on at 3 years old now, I never use it as a portable device and I'm desperate for a more powerful iMac.
In terms of performance I need something that can play the latest games - WoW and CoD specifically - as smoothly as possible. At the moment I'm drawn between the better 21.5" mac, or the 27" with the same settings.
1st Question: I'm fairly sure the 21.5" would play the games well, but if I upgraded to a 27" screen, would the games play slower as a result?
2nd Question: The 21.5" iMac comes with an i3 processor. Is there a big difference between the i3 and i5 in terms of performance (specifically, again, for gaming). Would it be worth getting the i5?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI currently own a iMac G4 700 MHz and I was wondering if a iMac G4 1,25 GHz 20inch is a lot better than the 700 MHz ? Im not thinking of video editing or gaming, but basic use in Leopard.
If someone has any experience with a 1,25 GHz with Leopard, please tell me so I can compare.
A friend of mine wants to buy a "vintage" iMac. He's an interior designer so going for the iconic look rather than specs and looking at the original G3 style or the "pod" style G4s.
Now this will be used primarliy for web browsing, email, iPhoto and iTunes (streaming his music collection to Apple TV - about 50GB of music). He'd like it to run OSX and preferably Leopard.
I'm guessing (from memory) that the original iMacs are out of the question but can anyone suggest a spec he might look for? Maybe somebody that's still using one of these machines could give an opinion? Also, what's the max spec (cpu, hard drive, RAM) that he could expect to pick up?

The only thing that is striking me odd is that this is the only ram on neweggs site that seems to be compatible with an iMac that doesn't actually show up under their Apple > Mac Memory category

I am a MS Windows (MCP) consultant based in California and unfortunately dont know much about Apple, Have worked with Linux and red hat to some stage and need some friendly expert advice as i have a customer who recently bought an Apple Mac notebook and asked me to transfer data ( e-mails , pics letters )from her (imac os10.4) to the new Apple Mac notebook.
typically, i am thinking transferring data via a wired network(Hub) would be the best way, based on the total data size , or alternatively an external HDD , Could someone provide me with some facts, tips, or perhaps a good guide line or a URL so I can achieve this with no embarrassment and a happy ending result for my client.
I am trying to make a decision on what computer to buy... I am buying this computer mainly for graphic design so the screen is a very important part of this decision.
It is between a Mac Mini:
2.26 GHz Processor
4 MB Ram
120 GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
3 External Hard drives: 1 as my main HD, 1 as a backup, and 1 to bring back and forth to school.
With this monitor:

or
24" iMac
2.66 GHz Processor
4GB Ram
640 GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
2 External hard drives: one as backup and one to bring back and forth to school
My main question is what are the specs on the 24" iMac screen such as panal type etc. and which screen is better: the iMac screen or the HP screen linked above. Remember I'm going to be using it primarily for graphic design.
I want change my new iMac Serial-ATA HD with SSD. is this possible?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to get a Wacom Cintiq for my illustration studio.
I'm using an iMac G5 running Tiger and I know Apple disabled dual monitors on their video card for iMac.
I also know that there's a freeware program that allows you to enable dual monitors if you've got the correct video card it's called Screen Spanning Doctor and it seems to have a pretty good reputation.
My question is this:
Will Screen Spanning Doctor allow me to use the Cintiq the way it's meant without any screen stretching or other screwups? Or am I SOL, and should I get a Mac Pro with Leopard and all that jazz?
I just bought a iMac 27" i5 version with the 2-TB Hitachi HDD.
Under browsing:
Fan-speeds:
ODD: 998 rpm
HDD: Always 1100 or above
CPU: 939
Temperatures:
ODD: 46C
HDD: 57C
CPU: 43C
The only thing what bothering me is the loud HDD fan. Really annoying.
So, what for iMac have you and what are the fan-speeds and temperatures of your iMac? And of-course how did you solve these high fan-speeds? (If you did)
