Hardware :: Using 2 Airport Express Base Stations At The Same Time?

I want to be able to use wireless internet and stream music to my stereo at the same time, but I only have a single internet connection behind my stereo and it's connected to the Pay TV. My options seem to be getting a new line installed behind the stereo so I can insert this into the same Airport Express base station I use for my music, or buying a second Airport Express base station and connecting it to one of the other internet connections in the room, then connecting to both Airport Express base stations at the same time.
I have a wireless network set up using an airport express. Both my iMac and MacBook connect to it wirelessly. I want to use a second airport express and put it in my livingroom so I can connect my stereo speakers and use AirTunes. If I configure the second express to join the current network, will I be able to use internet and airtunes at the same time from the same computer? In other words, can I use the two airport express base stations in just one network with both internet sharing and airtunes?
In the UK, the Airport Extreme base sation is a 2-3 week wait on the Apple store and big stores like John Lewis have no stock. On Appleinsider, there's a story about and Australian offer and a mention that potential buyers should wait. Is there any other news that suggests I should wait to get a new base station?
I use the new Airport Extreme Base Station with my Cable Modem, and recently bought a second machine (Windows Based). Now this other machine doesn't have any wireless capabilities and is too far to use an ethernet, so I decided to use an old Airport Extreme Base Station (The cone shaped one). The NEW Base station doesn't have any WDS option, the only remote thing I can see is 'Allow Network To Be Extended' The OLD one does have the WDS option and requires the NEW router's MAC Address etc... If only I still had my Airport Express, or a longer ethernet cable!
I recently upgraded my Airport Extreme form the old "UFO looking" Airport to a the new Airport Extreme N and am having trouble extending the network using the older airport as a remote in WDS. I have followed both of the following articles without any success.[URL:...] I followed the 2nd doco (ap2124) up to point 6 and I followed the 1st doco (ap2045) from the start and applied the changes, but my older (ufo looking) airport extreme don't seem to connect to the newer Airport Extreme N. I contacted Apple support and after checking with the product specialist, they advised me that I couldn't mix the 2 devices and I would have to buy the Airport Express N and extend my network using the Express. my question is, has anyone extended their network by using 2 different Airport base stations?
I'm considering getting an Airport Extreme Base Station off either eBay or CL used to save on cost. I cannot find any info on different versions that have been made in the last year or two. So I know if I'd be getting a latest version? I really know nothing about the Airport Extreme Base Station. But thought it might be best at this point because we only have Macs in the house. That might change in the next year or so though. I probably will add a PC to the mix eventually. I used to know PCs well and routing and networking for them back in the early Windose 2000 era. I've been out of touch though for the past 7 -8yrs or so though.

I would also like to set up the AirPort Express to use it's ethernet port to provide internet for my DirecTV HR20 HD DVR. I've currently got everything connected and running, and the HR20 gets an IP address, however, it says that there is no internet connection.
I have had my Airport Express Base Station for almost 4 years and last week it just stopped working. No Green/Orange LED, no network, not able to reset, dead as a doornail. It broke before I could reset or reformat it. Now I have no wifi at the house and I decided to sell the unit on Ebay. I have had an overwelhming response to my broken unit and am a little concerned. Do they know something I don't? Since I did not get to reformat it, I am selling a unit that is still as is. Does this have data on it that can be hacked or should my home Macbook be at risk? I have deleted my home network from my Airport Utility on my Macbook, but not sure what else I can do. I really would like to make some money off it, but not if I am at risk of someone using data stored on the device I cannot wipe off because it is broken. I know my network would still be stored on it and network password.
I have recently purchased a 15.4 MacBook Pro 1.83GHZ 2MB Ram with Intel Core Duo. The machine has a Airport Express Card fitted and I have purchased a 802.11n base station but I can't get it to work! The Base Station light just flashes amber and will not go green. I am simply trying to play my speakers through it wirelessly. The MacBook does not recognise the base station when I scan for Apple Devices.
Is there any way to connect an Airport Express base station to a wired network requiring authentication?
I'm using the university network which requires a user name and a password and bought an AE to set up a private wifi network for my mac, ipod touch and printer, without considering this.
I've tried a few things but haven't found anything useful. I guess sharing the connection via my mac's Airport would be possible, but how do I set up the AE to extend the mac's wireless network while it's connected to it? It can't be done from an ipod touch, can it?
I've upgraded two Macs (a Mac Mini and a MacBook Pro) to Leopard, and both have lost the ability to print to the Epson CX5000 connected to my AirPort Express base station. The Mac Mini, which is also connected via Ethernet to my home network, can print to the CX5000 as a Bonjour printer connected to the base station. Both computers think they're printing. They both get a connection to the printer, and act as if the printer is printing the jobs, but no print job is forthcoming.
I have a network of 4 macpros, 6macbook pros, 2 imacs & 7 windows machines running xp, and a laptop running vista business. I recently purchased an airport express base station to put my usb printer (Epson Stylus photo 1390)on the network. All macbook pros & imacs are printing efficiently on wireless. Macpros are using the printer shared from one imac. But i don't understand how do i connect my windows pcs to the printer (all are on ethernet lan). Is there a way to connect them.
so i just got the Airport Express Base Station so i can connect my WD external HD (i don't like to plug it directly into my laptop...) i also moved my iphoto library file to the external HD. why is iPhoto so slow to start up and do pretty much anything? i thought in this way i could save my internal SSD from clutter, but accessing the iphoto library from the external is driving me mad with its slowness.
I have a specific problem that I have tried to research and correct, but still no solutions. Here it is:
I currently have a wireless setup in my house using the IMac as a base station. I have this setup through the "Sharing" tab in System Preferences. I have an ITouch that I then connect to this network and surf the web downstairs, etc. It works great!
I purchased a new Airport Express that I want to plug in downstairs next to the stereo and then use Airtunes to play music over the stereo downstairs. This Airport Express would connect wirelessly to the IMac base station, just like the ITouch does. I also need to still be use the Itouch with this configuration.
I already have a wireless network in my house. I'm about to buy a printer, but would prefer to keep the printer in a different room. Can I connect the printer to one of those AirPort Express Base Station, then print wirelessly from my laptop?
So here is my deal. I have an airport express base station which i use as my router. It works just fine when i have it as my wireless router for my macbook and my pc when i have it locked using a WPA password. When i have it locked though it will not work with my xbox 360 and linksys wireless gaming adapter [URL:..] which i have. When i unlock the WPA and leave the airport express unlocked it will work with my macbook and my xbox 360, but it then wont work with my pc. I do not personally care about the pc, but my wife does. I also would like to have it locked and WORK with all three devices. Anyone have any suggestions for this lost soul?
I just bought a new Time Capsule and an Airport Extreme. Both are the newfangled dual-band type. At the moment the AEX is the main base station, connected to my DSL modem in the Living Room. The TC extends the AEX network and is in my office.
The instructions suggest the TC should not be a network client and rather be the main base station, and to make the AEX extend the network. How much difference will there be in Time Machine performance between the two topologies?
I would really prefer having the TC in my office, so I can attach via gigabit ethernet to the TC when I'm working there with my MBP. I cannot move the DSL modem to my office since I don't have a phone line there (it's really an upstairs bedroom).
I want to do wireless backups with Time Machine. I already have it working wirely via USB with my WesternDigital My book Studio External Hard Drive 1TB, but recently I've purchased an AirPort Express. Searching, I realized it could not be possible to attach the HD directly to the AirPort Express, because it doesn't work. However, I'm wondering if Time Machine would recognize it conected via Ethernet port with the Apple's USB Ethernet Adapter [URL].
I have the airport extreme (newest version) and using the airport express. I have the airport express extending the network from the airport extreme base station. So if I am using the speaker output on my express, will my connection drop from the dual band router, using the express for internet? Both are next to each other too. I only have the express connected so I can use the external speakers.
I currently use my Airport Express as my wireless router. It's also plugged directly into my stereo so I can take advantage of AirTunes, which I love to do.
I was thinking of purchasing Time Capsule, but I suppose there's no way I can take advantage of it's 802.11n capabilities and continue to use AirTunes on my network?

The Apple site is quite vague on this point but I thought I'd clarify before buying one. I have a Time Capsule as my main router, but I want to move it, but when I do it's out of range of one of my computers. Can I plug the Express in near the computer, and then Ethernet it up to the computer, or is that Ethernet port meant to go into the TC?
is it possible to run both a wireless connection with airport express, as well as have a direct ethernet connection to the computer? i have a simple, two-way ethernet splitter than comes from the port in the wall that should technically be able to do this, but i have tried this without success and i am guessing there is a little more to this problem than just having both connections hooked up at the same time.
anyways right now i am running on an airport express wireless connection. at my school there is a campus-based p2p program that can only be accessed through direct ethernet connection, leaving me inaccessible to it when i am on my wireless connection. there is a bunch of registration junk that has to be done when i switch from ethernet to wireless, which is why i would prefer to have both set up at once.
So here's how it is set up at home: my parents have an AirPort Extreme Base Station by our upstairs computers, which is connected to a modem and we use that to get our wi-fi throughout the house. I want to buy an AirPort Express to use to stream music in my room. But I also have a Time Capsule, which I need so I can back up my Macbook. I know that an AirPort Express can be used to extend an existing network. So would it be possible to plug in the Express in my room, use it to extend our upstairs network, and then hard-wire the Time Capsule to the Express through the ethernet port and use that to connect the Time Capsule? On paper that seems like it would work, because the Express would be receiving a signal from the base station upstairs, and then sending it to the Time Capsule, giving them both access to the network. But I just want to make sure it would work before I drop $99 on an Express.
I just purchased a seagate 1.5TB drive - can I put 2 partitions on it - one for time machine (mac formated) and one for Windows (NTFS formatted) will that work if connected to the Airport Extreme and if so how do I do that with the disk utility?
I have a Time capsule (1Tb) and wanted to extend the network in the house. i bought an Airport Express and configured it to join the existing network. It works and I see a green light. However, I do not see any increase in the signal (of a PC) whether or not the Express is in.
Sorry if this question has been asked many times before - I tried running numerous searches, but it's been difficult to find a straightforward answer to my predicament.
I have a time capsule and an airport express. I would like to extend the range of my wifi network as my modem (attached to the time capsule) is on the third floor of my home and I'd like to improve the strength of my internet connection to the lower floors. I've tried to set-up airport express (located on the 2nd floor, but initially set-up near my time capsule) and the time capsule with the extend range options, but my airport express doesn't seem to improve the range of the wifi. I tested my internet speed by running the test away from airport express, near airport express and with my laptop connected to airport express via ethernet. In fact, connecting the laptop to airport express seems to produce the slowest download speed and being near airport express does not seem to provide faster download speeds.
Can someone point me to straightforward instructions where I can setup airport express to extend the range of my wifi network that uses time capsule? Also, how will I know that airport express is extending my range? When I view my wireless networks, should I see my airport express as one of the wireless networks that I can connect to?
Is it possible to use an Time Capsule to connect to an airport express with a router plugged into it?
I have a small network at home, and would like to have another computer (old PowerMac g4, no wireless card) and my xbox 360 in my basement. I don't want to run cables. Is it possible to connect a router to my airport express and use it to bridge the wired computers wirelessly to the time capsule upstairs? I know it's possible to use the airport express as an extension to the wireless as a WDS but I haven't found anything online about using it as a bridge.
