Hardware :: Panasonic NV-GS150 DV Camera MAC OSX 10.5 Support?
Dec 23, 2007
I have a Panasonic NV-GS150 DV Digital Video Camera which i would like to use with iMovie. My camera did not come with any software for MAC.
How do i go about setting up my iMac so that i can use my video camera on my mac.
Do i need any drivers?
Do i need any other software?
I have some stop motion animation software on my mac, and would really like to use it, but for some reason, my video camera, a Panasonic HDC-TM80, won't register. It will upload pictures and videos taken on itself, but it won't or can't be recognized by my mac as a webcam. What is wrong? Do I need some fancy-shmancy software or hardware? If so, then what? How would I use it? How much might it cost?Â
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I have a Mac Book Pro running OS X Lion. I cannot open .mpg video files created by my Panasonic Video camera. Neither iMovie nor Quicktime will open them. Final Cut Pro will not open them either.
Additional details on Apple's just-announced iPad continue to trickle out, with iPhone OS 3.2 being iPad-only for the time being, evidence of camera support in the software development kit, and the details behind its LED backlit screen with "IPS technology."
iPhone OS 3.2 hints at camera support, is iPad-only
Though the iPad, introduced by Apple Wednesday, does not include a camera, the iPhone OS 3.2 SDK "simulator" for creating software hints the shipping product could support a camera in some fashion. One developer told AppleInsider that the native Contacts application offers the option to take a photo, in addition to choosing an existing one.
The option could be a sign that the shipping product could support a camera, perhaps through an external attachment to the iPad's 30-pin connector port. Or, it could just be something carried over from the iPhone, which does have an integrated camera.
Currently, the iPhone OS 3.2 SDK simulator reportedly contains only two applications: Settings and Contacts. It also has added rich text support in the UITextInput that allows different fonts, sizes and more. The iPhone OS 3.2 SDK also allows video output to an external display through a dock connector.
In addition, an update to the iPhone developers Web site has revealed the new version, iPhone OS 3.2, is, for the moment, iPad-only."Note: iPhone OS 3.2 does not support iPhone and iPod touch devices," the document states. "It only runs on iPad."The reveal of iPhone OS 3.2 confirms a report from earlier this week when an analytics firm revealed it had spotted 50 suspected iPads running the unreleased version of Apple's mobile operating system.pple's custom A4 processor pictured
Moments after Apple revealed the iPad would be powered by its custom A4 processor, iFixit provided an image of the internal component. The solutions provider said the A4 processor in Apple's video was manufactured during the last week of September 2009.It also noted that ARM has had a "secret" licensee for years that is likely Apple and P.A. Semi, the fabless chip designer it purchased for $278 million in 2008. AppleInsider first reported in 2008 that Apple has licensed the ARM architecture for years.
When the iPad is released in the next two months, you can be sure iFixit will have a peek inside the device.In-plane switching (IPS) LCD and other tidbitsApple touted Wednesday that its new iPad tablet device features an LCD screen with IPS technology, stating that it displays pictures that are "remarkably crisp and vivid" on its 9.7-inch LED-backlit screen. IPS technology was developed by Hitachi in 1996 to improve viewing angles and color reproductions on screens.
The iPad does not support the unique 1700Mhz spectrum utilized by the T-Mobile 3G network in the U.S. So although the hardware is unlocked and could theoretically access T-Mobile's EDGE network, 3G connectivity will not be an option anywhere but AT&T in the U.S.Much like the iPhone and iPod touch, the iPad does not have support for Adobe Flash. In fact, during Wednesday's keynote presentation, CEO Steve Jobs pulled up a Web site that had Flash embedded, and the missing plug-in icon was prominently displayed.
Quashing rumors that led up to Wednesday's event, the iPad also does not offer multi-tasking support for third-party applications.
I have an external iSight Web camera and want to use it with an iMac with a built in iSight camera. Can I disable the built in iSight camera and instead use the external camera?
Surely this is a pretty standard feature in laptops now, particularly with Apple's obsession with iPhoto etcDoes it come as an option? How do you get your pics off your camera? You have to connect a usb cable from the laptop to the camera?
I have a Panasonic P2 camera that records on mini dv or a P2 card. I can capture the video from tape but not from the P2 card. I've downloaded the drivers, installed the programs from the CD that came with the camera but it still won't work.
For a long time I have been downloading photographs from my Panasonic DMC-TZ3 into IPhoto - but for some reason my mac has stopped recognising / picking up my camera.
I've searched Google for drivers for my camera but cannot find them for mac.
My operating system is OS X - Build 10C540 Snow Leopard.
I ended up having to buy a new firewire cable to fit into the MacBook Pro I'm using. But when I use the iEEE 1394B cable iMovie tells me that its having a communication error with the Panasonic.
Is it possible to get Imovie (or anything else) to recognize my NV-EX3 camcorder (on OSX) via FireWire? NV-EX3 works fine on all PC's, browsing forums and www and contacting MAC and Panasonic has not provided a solution, this seems to be impossible!
I am having an incredibly frustrating time trying to connect my iMac to a Panasonic Viera TV. Â
Using a mini DVI to DVI adapter attached to a DVI to HDMI cable (I am not concerned about sound right now) I am getting nothing but a blank screen on the TV. The cable is plugged into the HDMI1 porrt on the TV (but I have tried both). The iMac is recognising the TV but despite playing around with the settings on the preferences I am still unable to mirror the iMac display on the TV. All cables are brand new.Â
I have tried rebooting the iMac whilst in the HDMI setting on the TV but without success.Â
i recently purchased an RF-AP305 Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (rocketfish) and the matching rocketfish HDMI cable. however, when i plug the cords into my panasonic TC-L32C3 the tv won't let me select either HDMI 1 or 2 as an input source. why won't the tv recognize my mac?
I would like to know how to connect my MBP 17'' to my Panasonic plasma TV. I already have a Mini-Display cord to HDMI connected from my MBP to the TV, but no video or sound is present.
Info: MacBook Pro (17-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4), 8GB Ram - 750GB HD
I was thinking of buying a Panasonic Viera S1 series (50") and hooking it up to my Macbook Pro to watch movies. This is their less expensive line. In researching the difference between this and the more expensive G15, I was told by Panasonic that the S1 doesnt have a true computer input, (just HDMI, component etc.) and they dont guarantee it will work. (Looking at a picture of the back of the G15 it looks like the "computer" input they are referring to is a VGA.)
This seems odd. I have an older LCD TV (no HDMI or DVI input, just component and video) and all I have to do is hook it up with a DVI to S video adapter and off we go. The specs of these various interfaces are consistent I'm sure, so what's this "may not work" business? Either it does, or it doesnt, right?
I will say that there is hard disk noise with the old TV which can be annoying. Is this what they mean?
I hava a imac 24, running leopard. I have a panasonic video recorder nv-gs10. I connect it to my mac with firewire to extract video, but mac does not reconogice it. cant i do. where can i find drivers?
I am running Lion 10.7.4 presently on my MacBook Pro and will also be upgrading to Mountain when it is released. If I have external Bluetooth speakers like the Panasonic HC57's, can I go into System Preferences and choose them as my output speakers?
Cannot connect Mac Air to older Panasonic Viera plasma TV.Mac will not recognize TV. Mac Air shows a blue screen for a second and TV will not show desktop. Using HDMI splitter with HDMI to Thunderbolt connection.
I've got a MacBook Pro running 10.5.8. Just took my first pictures/video with the GH2 using a Lexar 64GB SDXC card. When plugging in the USB cable that came witht the camera I got - "The disk you inserted was not recognized by this computer". I've written to Lexar but so far they've been no help. I know the file system for this card is FAT32 which is a PC format. I know this card will work with the Mac...but how is it accomplished?
I have an oldish video camera and I don't seem to be able to download the movies from it. I have purchased a DV (Firewire) cable and have connected it but the iMac doesn't seem to recognise the camera. I can't see it as an option in iMovie.Â
