I was wondering, is this a good printer?
We only need it mainly for printing documents, no high quality photos, and we just need it to connect via USB to our main PC, and then via wireless to 2 macbooks and 1 dell notebook, will it do that just fine?

I am trying to connect my wireless printer (Lexmark 7600) to my new macbook Air. The macbook finds my network but cannot find the printer. I have a Sony viao using the printer on the same network. I have followed all the Mac instructions but no luck.

I am having trouble connecting my Macbook to a wireless printer. I tried to download a lexmark wireless setup assistant, however the setup said "continue to configure you printer to a wireless network," which I do not need. Not really sure where to go from there.

Title of the post says it all really. My printer is one of the ones supposedly supported (x4690) and it works fine when connected by usb, but not wirelessly. I have tried everything I know to get this working.
The only clue I have is when I try to print and run a log, it says

I have a lexmark all in one printer X6170, but it is not compatible with OSX and does not offer nay drivers for Mac. I am looking for a new printer which is compatible with both Mac and PC and which does not have a high cost for Ink Cartridges.
The ink cartridges prices are ridiculous and I don't want to pay $50 for a printer and $45 for ink refills.
WHat are some of you guys doing to get a decent printer while keeping the cost down for Ink cartridges.
I got a new LexMark printer for my Mac, which is not remembering the settings I made for it after my computer is restarted. My friend and I were on the phone with tech support for 3 hours, but the only solution they gave to us was to pay for Applecare & ask them to solve the problem. Is that a "user's-permissions" problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a Macbook and I've been trying to find drivers for my Lexmark X5150 all-in-one printer. I thought it was meant to be simple in leopard but my printer doesn't seem to be supported by default, like most printers are, so I looked on the Lexmark site but they only supply drivers up to Tiger, nothing for Leopard. Does anybody know if a driver exists for this printer and where I can find it, and if not, if there are any drivers that will work? I am not too worried about the all-in-one functionality, I just want to be able to print at least.

The printer is still listed under 'Printer.'I have tried contacting Lexmark and their directions were useless. Per their directions, I clicked on the Uninstall in the Lexmark All in One folder, but after the unintallation was 'complete,' a window popped up stating that not all files were removed and they had to be removed manually.how to get rid of Lexmark X75 completely?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to Lion I have an extra page printing with every print job on my Optra E310 laser printer with cropped off USERID = "xxx", HOST ID = "xxx" and @PJL JOB NAME = "xxx". It seems to happen mainly in Apple applications, i.e. Mail, but has also happened in Acrobat Pro X. Admittedly, it's an old printer but according to Apple and Lexmark it is supported in Lion. I've tried every setting available but can't seem to eradicate the problem. Lexmark support, who were extremely unhelpful, kicked it straight back to Apple.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI got a new HP wireless printer, and the mac suggested setting it up with the USB first, and then disconnecting once it was configured. I did all that.The mac asked to choose a wireless network for the printer, I did. Then the set up CD asked me to add a printer to the qeue from system preferences from the menu- when I clicked my printer was already added. None the less I followed the direction, and then got the message "You already have a similar printer set up, would you like to add this too?" I clicked YES, and then continue.
When I clicked on continue, the set up cd (or mac) told me that I had NOT set up a printer from the Queue (sorry about spelling), even though I had. So when I clicked continue, it told me the printer was not recognized in the wireless network, and now I'm stuck with plugging it in the usb. Please I know this sounds confusing, but why is this happening and what do I do to get the mac to recognize my printer? Apparently its not.My wireless signal is fine, I checked.
My Brother HL-3040CN printer only has an ethernet connector for network printing (as well as a usb port). If I wish to print wirelessly is there an adaptor or a wireless hub that I can plug it into with the cable?
I'm asking this because I've read the iPad doesn't have any means of connecting it to a printer with a cable. I won't buy an iPad now but maybe next year.
EDIT: Would an Airport Express do the job?

I have an eMac 1Ghz with 10.3.9 on it and I just bought a new Lexmark Wi-Fi Printer. I have no Extreme card, just a Netgear Wired/Wireless router that's obviously connected to my eMac via CAT5 cable. I set up the printer for wireless, hoping my eMac would use the router as a card-substitute type deal. Well it doesn't. Cannot connect as if it were not there.

I have an airport extreme router connected to an AT&T 2WIRE modem. The guys that installed the AT&T stuff recently said I normally wouldn't need the airport extreme because the 2WIRE serves as both modem and router, however it does not work with an airport express, which I have in another room to boost the signal. So when the printer looks for the (SSID) network, it sees my apple network, which is what my macbook and windows vista laptops also see and connect to. After that, I'm entering the wireless network key from the 2WIRE.
As compensation for some recent damage than an Apple tech caused to my Windows 7 Ultimate disc, Apple has agreed to give me $200 credit, plus a free Magic Mouse.

I have an hp photosmart 4200 that is plugged into an airport base station.
One problem though... When I scan something I have to break out my laptop and plug it into the printer directly to get the scan. The printer, as far as I can tell won't send out the scan via the airport.
If I buy the new photosmart with wifi & Bluetooth and put it in the other room will it send my scans to my iMac in the other room?
Sounds like it should but I've yet to see that work.
I am on the market for a new all in one wireless printer. My problem is that I have no clue about printers and I have heard that HP are very good printers especially for macs.

I have a deskjet 3050a that is installed on my 10.6.8 macbook pro, which is up-to-date on it's software.
I can ping the printer from my router, so I know it is on the network. I cannot, however, ping it from my mac. Sometimes, I can reboot the printer and then I'll see it from my mac and, other times, that doesn't work.
I've tried editing the hosts file, but that didn't work. I've tried setting the IP on the printer to a static, but that didn't work
