View 6 Replies I just received my first mac today, a macbook. I am having troubles already trying to get my printer that is connected to my other computer to work. My other computer has Linux/Windows and I am trying to get it to work while it is running windows, first. The printer is a Canon Pixma MP470. It works fine in windows, and when I try to print in OS X, I went to "add printer" -> "Windows" button -> "Canon MP470". That's no good though. Oh, first before that, I did put the CD that came with the printer and went through the setup and installed everything on it. What happens now is the printer recognizes there is a job because it moves the nozzles and pulls a piece a paper through whenever I send a job, but with no printing on it.
So I plugged the printer directly into my MB, and it also worked. It recognized my printer and under the "driver" tab, it displayed "Canon MP470 series", but was grayed out. When I try to select the driver for it when it is through my network, I don't have a driver called "Canon MP470 series", the closest I have is "Canon PIXMA MP500 - Gutenprint v5.1.3", which is what I have been using.
Also, is there anything else I need to know about getting it to work when my computer is running linux? I will be using CUPS in linux.
No updated driver from apple. The all in one wireless lexmark (X6570) printer is a few years old. I had a working driver with snow leopard which carried over to lion, but I deleted it trying to go wireless (mistake).

Hi,I lost my cd during move and can't install my printer Lexmark Z810 can you help me? is there a link I can download from?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHello all - First confession time. I am not a Mac user and know next to nothing about them (I think the old guy in the Mac vs PC ad is my twin brother!). One of my children has an iBook G4 so that's as close as I come.
My question is about that G4. My daughter recently bought a Lexmark X3430 All-in-One Printer / scanner / whatever. Of course she didn't read the box which says "For Windows OS". Lexmark does NOT have Mac drivers for their X3430 and the GIMP-print / gutenprint website does not list one either.
Does anyone out there have experience with this printer and know where I might be able to score a driver?
My MacBook Pro with Lion sees my printer as a Photosmart C6100 series [964C01]. Says to "Print Using" Photosmart C6100 series. When I click add it tries to download the drivers however says the software is currently unavailable. If I try to add it manually using IP it says the update server is unavailable. The console log shows:Â
PrintUITool: Property list invalid 'for format: 200 (property lists cannot contain objects of type 'CFType')Â

Title of the post says it all really. My printer is one of the ones supposedly supported (x4690) and it works fine when connected by usb, but not wirelessly. I have tried everything I know to get this working.
The only clue I have is when I try to print and run a log, it says
Stopping job because the scheduler could not execute a filter.
E [30/Aug/2009:14:17:13 +0100] Unable to execute /usr/libexec/cups/backend/lexnet3: insecure file permissions (0100755)
I've tried to submit the problem to Lexmark, but the 'submit' button doesn't work on their website,.
I have a lexmark all in one printer X6170, but it is not compatible with OSX and does not offer nay drivers for Mac. I am looking for a new printer which is compatible with both Mac and PC and which does not have a high cost for Ink Cartridges.
The ink cartridges prices are ridiculous and I don't want to pay $50 for a printer and $45 for ink refills.
WHat are some of you guys doing to get a decent printer while keeping the cost down for Ink cartridges.
I'm gonna go and buy a printer tomorrow and I have my eye on the following:[URL]
I was wondering, is this a good printer?
We only need it mainly for printing documents, no high quality photos, and we just need it to connect via USB to our main PC, and then via wireless to 2 macbooks and 1 dell notebook, will it do that just fine?
I got a new LexMark printer for my Mac, which is not remembering the settings I made for it after my computer is restarted. My friend and I were on the phone with tech support for 3 hours, but the only solution they gave to us was to pay for Applecare & ask them to solve the problem. Is that a "user's-permissions" problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a Macbook and I've been trying to find drivers for my Lexmark X5150 all-in-one printer. I thought it was meant to be simple in leopard but my printer doesn't seem to be supported by default, like most printers are, so I looked on the Lexmark site but they only supply drivers up to Tiger, nothing for Leopard. Does anybody know if a driver exists for this printer and where I can find it, and if not, if there are any drivers that will work? I am not too worried about the all-in-one functionality, I just want to be able to print at least.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else have a Lexmark printer that is working with Snow Leopard? I have an x4850 and after updating it tells me I need to install the software to make the printer work. Of course, Lexmark's site is completely unhelpful and makes no mention of OSX 10.6 at all.

The printer is still listed under 'Printer.'I have tried contacting Lexmark and their directions were useless. Per their directions, I clicked on the Uninstall in the Lexmark All in One folder, but after the unintallation was 'complete,' a window popped up stating that not all files were removed and they had to be removed manually.how to get rid of Lexmark X75 completely?Â

Apple on Tuesday afternoon released Lexmark Printer Driver Update 1.1 [71MB] which includes the latest drivers for Lexmark printers. This update is also available via Software Update but will only be visible if the printer is connected to your computer or a print queue has been created for an earlier version.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to Lion I have an extra page printing with every print job on my Optra E310 laser printer with cropped off USERID = "xxx", HOST ID = "xxx" and @PJL JOB NAME = "xxx". It seems to happen mainly in Apple applications, i.e. Mail, but has also happened in Acrobat Pro X. Admittedly, it's an old printer but according to Apple and Lexmark it is supported in Lion. I've tried every setting available but can't seem to eradicate the problem. Lexmark support, who were extremely unhelpful, kicked it straight back to Apple.

I am trying to connect my wireless printer (Lexmark 7600) to my new macbook Air. The macbook finds my network but cannot find the printer. I have a Sony viao using the printer on the same network.  I have followed all the Mac instructions but no luck.

I am having trouble connecting my Macbook to a wireless printer. I tried to download a lexmark wireless setup assistant, however the setup said "continue to configure you printer to a wireless network," which I do not need. Not really sure where to go from there.

Hi, my brand new iMac 21.5" (just 2 weeks old) does not have the appropriate driver for my printer. My printer is a Samsung CLX-3160fn. The iMac has lots of other Samsung drivers, including one that's close (for the 3170 series), but the close one does not work.
Went online to search for driver but was not able to find one for Mac. Does this mean my printer is just not compatible with my iMac?
I can't find the answers I know its been asked before.
Its the 2010 MBP 13"
I have Windows 7 Professional 64bit running through parallels 5 and it seems to be missing alot of drivers (wireless most importantly, but also audio etc). Where can I get these, is it the same as bootcamp drivers( are they on one of the disks that come with macs?).
I was given Epson Stylus NX420 3 in 1 printer with my MacBook Pro and would like to set it up but when I insert the disc it comes out. How do I go about downloading the disc to set up the printer?.

I have a HP Photosmart C4200 Series (C4280 to be exact). I have recently installed Snow Leopard (was using Leopard before) and this printer shows as supported in Snow Leopard. The problem I'm having, is that when I go to print a document from Microsoft Word (Office 2008) for Mac, all I get are blank pages. I printed something from Text Edit and it comes out fine, but files from Microsoft Word come out blank. Also, the "Test" pages come out fine as well.
I have been printing files for months and months now from Microsoft Word, but this is the first time I have tried in Snow Leopard.Does anyone know what is going on? I really need to print stuff since its for school.
I've seen previous discussions regarding problems installing a Dell printer. I have a Dell 962 wireless printer. I did find the compatible Mac driver R92834 and I did install the driver. However, when I try to add the printer, I can't find the printer in the drop down list. Am I supposed to be looking for a Lexmark printer? If so, I have no idea what model is equivalent to the Dell 962 AIO. The model sticker is 4409-0d1. A search for this model returns nothing. I'm a newbie with Macs. OS is 10.4.3. Got any ideas?

I wish to install again my Epson driver.
I went to the Printer control panel as shown in the attached picture.
I can't figure out what is my IP for the printer, and how to convince my system to show the printer list to enable me to choose it?

I have just had to do a system reinstall on my iBook (G4 1.33MHz 512 RAM). I have updated Tiger to 10.4.11as it was available via 'software update'. I can't now print with my trusty Epson stylus color 740 or my Epson stylus photo 895.
When I go looking for drivers on the epson web site they seem to be for systems 7-9 for the 740 and for intel Macs running Tiger for the 895. Both of these printers worked fine with my previous version of Tiger.
Is it even technically possible to shrink that 2GB of Printer drivers down?
Surely they have A LOT in common.
I am wondering if this would / could be done for Snow Leopard.
I recently installed the widget iStat Pro. When i did, i discovered that the (what i presume to be) drivers from my printer are using up all of my processes. In the processes tab, it can go anywhere from 90% to +100%. I have nothing in my login items but iTunes helper and absolutely nothing in the start items. I don't know what to do about this.
