View 5 Replies View RelatedHow long does the battery last? I have my new mac mini that I use probably an hour a week, I have the mini attached to a Philips 3D screen and I use the wireless k/m to control the system from a distance. Now, the keyboard has an ON button but I do not know if it shuts itself off after a while. I had the old wireless keyboard and the battery lasted a month, I wonder with such little use how long this batteries will last or how this new model saves battery life.

How does one save battery life on the wireless keyboard?

I have an Apple 3-battery Wireless Keyboard, and I noticed that the battery drains out every 1-2 days. I don't own a Magic Mouse, and I know that's been the source of many AWK battery problems of late, but just to state it again, I don't own a Magic Mouse. I use Duracell rechargeables.

I received a new iMac about 2 weeks ago, and I'd like to know how long the battery is suppose to roughly last for the keyboard and magic mouse. When I installed iStat Pro widget, it showed the battery power for my mouse, but the keyboard has never showed up. My mouse has been steadily losing battery power and is now at 28%. However, bluetooth states the power to my keyboard is 100%. This doesn't seem correct.
One other thing I've noticed in the bluetooth menu, under devices, is that the keyboard is labeled as "Apple Wireless Keyboard", while the mouse is title's my name's mouse (I.e.: "Darkroom's Mouse"). This may just nothing, but I'm assuming it's another symptom of my keyboard not being fully read by the OS.
My Apple Wireless Keyboard Stopped Working, i don't know what problem it is. its just stop, after i leave it one week without battery. this keyboard just 2 months old, any suggestion so i can get it repaired...?, is it possible to bring keyboard to apple retailer, and get it fixed there ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI work at our university support desk, and the other day we had a girl bring her macbook pro in. The twist is that she did not shut her mbp off and carried it over open in a downpour. Needless to say it was absolutely drenched. Fortunately the computer suffered no side affects. I personally have spilled a drink on mine (I proceeded to turn it off and remove the battery) but I suffered no side affects. So out of curiosity, do MBs/MBPs have sealed keyboards to prevent against liquid damage?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have changed both sets of batteries. Turned them off and back on multiple times. Only reason I am able to ask this question is because I'm using my phone. I need my computer back. No I don't have a wired mouse or keyboard laying around. The mouse isn't registering or moving on the screen. The keyboard was working until I tried turning it off and back on. Now nothing is working.

I bought a new i7 iMac about two months ago and love it but the Bluetooth keyboard it came with recently started acting up. It randomly disconnects and when it does it will type whatever letter I last hit on the keyboard repeatly.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a Mac mini to use as a media centre, and I picked up the Apple wireless keyboard and mouse while I was at it. It wasn't until I got home that I read the "requirements" section on the side of the mouse and keyboard boxes, where it states that an existing keyboard and mouse are needed for setup.
I have a USB mouse, but no keyboard (my other Mac is a MBP), and nowhere to borrow one from (all my friends have laptops).
My wireless mouse and wireless keyboard are not working... My bluetooth connection must have been lost, yet I can't do anything to fix it because I can't use keyboard or mouse.

Bluetooth says my keyboard is paired, configured, and connected (and it works).Keyboard under System Preferences says "no keyboard found" and it continues to search for the keyboard. I have rebooted and also deleted and added the keyboard. Should I be concerned? Does the iMac need service ?

I was just wondering what all of your thoughts were regarding these two keyboards. I know I can't get the Wireless Pro new anymore, however I can get it used for $20 from someone I know.
The new aluminum one however, I can get for about $40 used or just buy a new one for $70. I'm looking to buy a used one so it's pretty much the Wireless Pro for $20 vs the Wireless Aluminum for $40.
This will be going towards a set-up with my MBP which will be on an mstand, with an external monitor. I've already gotten the Magic Mouse so I'm trying to find a nice Bluetooth keyboard to compliment it.
i've just bought my new mac pro, i'm very happy with it's performance, but there is 1 small little tiny problem, i've ordered my mac pro with wireless card, but my wireless connection is very slow , every web page i open it take minutes to open, before i had an imac, the wireless connenction was super fast, then i've sold it to my dad , but my new mac pro is very slow, mention that it's in the same room and in the same place my imac was.
i've check my bluetooth, i've send and receive some files with my bluetooth to my moblie, it was great, but when i copy files from my brothers computer it was slow and then it stucks , with my imac this never happens.i opened my mac pro to check the wireless card and i found this:-
antenna 1 was in the bluetooth card.
antenna 2 was in the upper wireless card.
antenna 3 was in the lower wireless card.
the weird thing i've found is that my speed connection it goes fast and then is goes slow then fast then slow, it's not stable, another weird thing is that my wireless speed is slow then when i press the wireless bars it goes fast then it returns slow again.this is a really lousy service from apple to make the wireless card as optional , it's really unfair i mean it is the most powerfull mac ever and wireless is not included one more question, is there a difference between the wireless card in the imac and in the mac pro?
I just picked up a new Mac Pro today, and with it a wireless keyboard. I have not opened the keyboard yet as I think I may prefer the one that came with my Pro. I particularly like the keypad. What do you guys think? How is the tactile feel of the wireless keyboard vs. the stocker?

Silly question, but I need the answer. Can the Macbook Pro Retina use the Apple Wireless Keyboard and then doc to a monitor via Thunderbolt?.
Info:MacBook Pro with Retina display
I've been using the wireless keyboard to the new iMad for a couple of weeks now and I don't seem to be acclimating to it very well. When held next to a full size keyboard, it is the same size; however, it doesn't seem to be when I'm typing. I keep missing keys or striking the wrong keys.
The short stroke of the keys is disconcerting.
I miss the number pad and the home, end, and other keys under the (old) F13, F14, and F15 keys. The lack of numbering of the Function keys is also a pain. Having to use the fn with other keys is a pain too.
I can't seem to get used to the size and position of the arrow keys. I miss having a specific delete key. Having to use the fn with backspace is irritating.
Why do I continue to use it? Novelty, I guess. Anyway, what I'd like to know is if any of you guys started out the same way and eventually actually like it better than the old style keyboard?
Should I continue trying or just say fuggit and buy a wired keyboard.? You needn't answer that. That's a rhetorical question.
I realize that a laptop has the same idiosyncrasies and everyone gets used to them.
I DO like the new mouse, but I still prefer the 8 button Logitech. If the new mouse only had a back button, I'd find it more to my liking.
I need a keyboard for my MacBook Pro. I'm wondering why Apple only have a wireless compact keyboard and not the a wireless edition of the numeric keyboard?
