purchased a macbook Unibody back in October 2008 when they were released and use it heavily. The battery no longer holds a nice long charge - I get about 2 to 2.5 hours out of a full charge.
The battery has 149 cycles on it, which is obviously high (and correct, I use the hell out of it). With it still being in warranty, is it worth pursuing a replacement battery? Will Apple tell me to go take a hike with the high cycle counts?
I have a MacbookPro mid 2009 and have some problems with my battery. This morning I noticed that the battery was empty through it was supposed to be in sleep mode during the night. My battery has 97 cycles and has 99% of its original capacity. What could be the cause of this problem ?
New here not real computer Literate so be kind anyway I have had a problem Lately. I have aprox. 2 gigs in the trash and it takes a long time to empty Like 20-24 hours. Whats wrong I have reloaded Snow Leopard and used Drive genius 3.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI have an early 2008 non-unibody MacBook Pro. For about a year now, the status of the battery has been "replace soon." I was still getting a pretty good amount of time off of one charge so I wasn't too worried. This past Saturday morning, I woke up, checked the battery indicator lights on my computer (it had been sleeping since the day before) and it said it had about 60% percent so I opened it. I was on the Internet for about 10 minutes before it shut off without warning.
It wouldn't turn back on when I pressed the power button, so I plugged it in and it turned back on. When I checked, the battery status was "replace now." After using it, I turned it back off and left for NYC for the weekend and didn't bring it with me. When I got home last night, I plugged it in and tried turning it on with no luck. The battery indicator light was flashing one light, so I just assumed it would need to charge for a bit before it would turn back on. After about two hours, when I went to bed, it still was flashing just one light. I kept it plugged in over night, and this morning when I checked it, the battery indicator lights showed that it was fully charged, but it still wouldn't turn on. I still kept it plugged in throughout the day just in case, but it still won't turn on even though all the lights are lit. Is the battery just showing me false information, or should I be worried about more than just the battery?

basically when i check the size of my pen drive it shows there is 13gb but there is only 1gb of stuff on there?
i already formatted the pen drive drive and its totally fine now.
however i was told by someone that i needed to empty my mac's trash in order to get the pen drive empty too. is it true?
I keep getting a "startup disk is full" message on my MacBook, yet I have more than 50% of my 55gig HD empty. Haven't partitioned the HD. I've tried clearing the cache on my browser and running disk repair on the HD. I'm considering adding RAM (currently have 1 gig). I'm running 10.6.8.

How long would it take to backup 900GB of data doing a full back-up using TimeMachine and my MacBook? My MacBook being a 2009 model with 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
I have:
1 x MacBook 160GB drive
1 x Imoega minimax 500GB drive (firewire or USB 2 connection possible)
1 x Seagate 320GB drive (USB 2 only connection)
I have a 400 firewire port in my MacBook in addition to 2 USB sockets, as well as fireWire hub with power supply, should I wish to run 2 or more firewire devices at once, into the 400 firewire port.
My current backup drive is a Samsung USB2 1TB drive but for reasons that will hopefully become obvious below, I will need to purchase a new drive. I think a 1.5TB or 2TB would be fine and I guess a 400 firewire port is still better than USB2, even though it's only 400. However I'm not sure about the time issue.................
im just curious (and maybe a slight bit worried) about how long my macbook air should last on a full battery. it seems like it gets less and less all the time. its not my primarily used cmputer (i use my iMac mostly) but i still use my MBA most days whether it be in bed or on my travels to friends' houses etc.
when i do use it ive usually got a socket handy so its always charging and when its in the house not being used, its pretty much always on charge which means the battery running out isnt a big deal but the few times i actually don't have the MBA on charge it seems to run out pretty quickly. i do tend to run a lot of programs, however.
How long does your MBP battery last when your doing ur stuff like internet, gaming etc etc. and your brightness of ur screen, wifi turned on etc?

I had the white model from 2006 and it lasted around 3 hours.
My Aluminum MacBook lasts 4.5 to 5 hours, depending on if I watch video
It lasts 2.5 to 3 if I'm watching or editing video

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a 15" MBP (2.66Ghz, late 2008), I usually don't have WiFi turned off, so I just wanted to know how long does it usually last with WiFi off and semi-high brightness setting for the display. The only activity is typing in Word and maybe a few non intensive Photoshop stuff.
I'd like to get an estimate because I have no power adapters where I'll be using it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMine only lasted 2hrs 30min on full charge (4th cycle. 4 day old), did the calibration and then it's now lasting about 4 hours. (it showed 7 hours in the beginning but number changed quickly as I opened Safari and browse online)
10 Hours? Come on Steve! Even with the dimmest light, bluetooth off, wireless off, no application running i've never seen 10 hours on MBP13". Not even 9 nor 8.
And I found this article.

What do you think about this battery from Batterygeek?
Specs:
130 Wh
16 or 19 volts output
1.7 lbs
This should give 4.5 times the normal operating time. Should be possible to watch demanding movies for about 7 hours, or do less demanding things for 18 hours.
I'm not sure if the voltage is too high or within limits. The Air magsafe seems to output 14.5 volts.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a 15 inch Macbook pro (yes, excited since it replaced my 7 year old Pentium 3 desktop), and I am wondering what the proper way is to allow my battery to last as long as possible in the LONG RUN (in terms of changing the battery and it losing its capacity). For much of the time, I have access to a/c outlet, so should I just leave the it plugged in as much as possible? Or should I only plug it in when the battery is used up and take it out when the battery is full again?

I have noticed that lately, my MBP Mid-2009 battery isn't lasting as long on a single charge as it used to. So, I downloaded and ran coconut Battery (attached results). After 152 Charges - I'm getting 90% battery capacity. Is there a way I can improve on that. Or, is this number about right for the age of the MacBook Pro?
