the spec says 10.4-10.5, so I am not sure if this will work seamlessly with macs latest OS. I called up MS customer service, but was not helpful.If not, can anyone suggest similar products, which will work with both windows and mac.

View 1 Replies View Related really really need your help people!!!so i started up my computer today and the keyboard and mouse wont work. tried all the remedies to make them work and some have said reinstalling mac os dvd's solved the problem..... however without any keyboard or mouse how do install them?i put the os dvd in the computer but i cant click or do anything to make it start so how i do install the os dvd's in this case..... and oh btw... even in safe mode the keyboard neither the mouse work....
i have a 20" imac desktop that is about a year old if it helps and im using a wired mouse and keyboard.
Would a generic Dell keyboard and mouse work using Mac OSX? Can I run Windows through Bootcamp and just plug them in and will they work?

Cause i cant be bothered to pay like 50 quid for a wireless apple keyboard, i was wondering if any of these cheap ones you see (liek this, for example now i know the function buttons may not work, but i dont care. Can anyone tell me if something liek this would work, or would it have to be mac made? Like say 'mac compatible' or whatever... but i thought they might not put mac compatible on a keyboard like that cause not all the functions on it will work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust returned from a week on the road. First attempt at bootup and mouse would not respond nor keyboard input anything. I have tried zapping pram, booting from the Lion disk, starting with option key, command R, starting as Target firewire disk. In all cases the keyboard works until Lion boots up. As firewire disk will not appear on MacBook Pro desktop but does have firewire image on the MacPro screen. System profiler shows unknown disk in firewire tab and correctly identifys 800 vs 400 FW. So I have to figure this is a Lion issue.

I have a unibook macbook that I wanted to get a wireless keyboard and mouse for. I love the design of the wireless keyboard so I got that one, but I got the Microsoft bluetooth 5000 mouse instead of the mighty mouse due to a few of the poor reviews floating around.
Anyways, so they both arrived today and I set them up, but I am having the most aggravating problem. When they are both connected at the same time, the mouse is jerky, slow to respond and generally irritating to use due to its sloppy and jerky movement. I ran through lots of troubleshooting steps..
Using the latest MSFT drivers for the mouse=no help
using steermouse = no help
But then things got really weird, so the mouse works PERFECTLY if I disconnect the wireless keyboard from the mac. Not turn it off, just disconnected. So I installed both on another machine thinking that maybe its a bluetooth bandwidth issue, nope, both devices work perfectly on a vista machine. So I grabbed another older bluetooth mouse and paired that with the keyboard on the macbook, THAT mouse works perfectly.
So basically, every other single combination (mouse but no keyboard on the mac, older bluetooth mouse and keyboard on the mac, mouse and keyboard on the vista machine) work except for the one configuration I want (keyboard and new mouse on the macbook).
Software is up to date on the macbook as well. I am about to tear my hair out. My first instinct is just that the drivers are bad on the MSFT mouse for OSX, but remember it works perfectly on the macbook if the keyboard is not connected at the same time, (yet its not a bluetooth bandwidth issue bc it works perfectly with the keyboard on teh vista machine).
Having a VERY strange issue with my new 27" iMac. I've tried installing XP twice now and everything works fine through the installation and after XP boot initially without any Apple drivers. Keyboard (wired) and my Magic Mouse work just fine.
Then I install the Apple drivers and after a restart XP does not recognize and keyboard/mouse. Even if I hook up a standard USB windows keyboard and wired mouse, nothing. Booting into Mac OS everything works fine, but nothing in XP, including safe mode.
My Dad just sent me his old iMac G5 17". and I was wondering if the Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse will work with it!? I don't really have a place to put the computer.. so I was hoping to get the wireless mouse and keyboard so I don't have to be connected to the computer.

iMac starts up as normal. Once it is on desktop, will not open anything. Have new snow leopard to install, put disk in and it pops up on desktop, however just like anything else I cannot click or open it. I have unplugged, restarted, used command-option-escape( which does bring up "Force quit" box, but again I cannot click open or select anything.

when i click the bluetooth symbol in the top theres not even a bluetooth option in my system preferences folder.
I have a PowerMac Dual G4 @ 500mhz that has issue with waking up from sleep. Running Tiger 10.4.11 with a fresh install of it on there. 512mb memory populating all 4 slots. I've verified permission, verified the HDD via disk utility. I've also run MacOSXmemtest that I purchased and that came up clean. I've also reset the PMU. When I wake the computer up from sleep it will usually wake up to a display and then the mouse and keyboard work momentarily (USB MS keyboard and Logitech Mouse) and then I'll get the beachball of death. The mouse and keyboard will then stop responding completely. I have to manually restart the computer but it seems to work great if it doesn't go into sleep.

He says that when he starts it up, his mouse light (sensor) flickers and the keyboard does not work. The only way to fix this is to unplug and replug in the peripherals. He also tried on his Studio Display connected via ADC and the same thing happens. Could a PCI USB card help his problems or is there some way to fix the current USB ports?

I'm on 10.6.2 and got notified of a few software updates today including the superdrive firmware fix.
Ran the updates and rebooted and then did the superdrive firmware and rebooted.
I have an MS sidewinder mouse that has five mouse buttons all recognized by OS X. For the past year I have used mouse button 4 to launch expose and mouse button 5 to launch spaces.
After these updates Spaces will no longer launch when mapped to any button on the mouse. I've verified that the same button (button 5) works to launch other things such as Expose.
Can anyone else confirm this and is there any kind of fix or workaround to the issue?
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for good mouse pads/anything similar to a mouse pads function. I would prefer something that fits well with the Magic Mouse and Alu Keyboard.
View 24 Replies View RelatedSo my friend was using his MacBook and went to do something else. He came back and the screen was black, he hit space and nothing, tried the trackpad and nothing. He restarted by holding the Power button, and it go to the log-in screen, but he can't type anything, or use the trackpad. He has tired restarting several times and no luck. He also tried an external Keyboard/Mouse and that didn't work.
He did plug in a Flash drive and the light turned on, so the USB ports are at least getting power, but nothing is working.
Has anyone else experienced problems with the USB ports on a wired keyboard since you installed the latest Apple system update? After I ran the update, the keyboard USB ports are getting just 100 mA total; they can't even power a simple flash drive anymore.
I searched the Apple forums and noticed several users complaining about the same thing. The update seems to have made the keyboard USB ports absolutely useless.
I'd love to see CNET look into this; and if the underpowered ports are a common issue, I hope enough people complain for Apple to acknowledge the error and fix this in a subsequent update.
My good quality MXL mic won't work with my Mac mini. I've heard this is because Mac minis can't cope with microphones that aren't self-powered! How can that be? Surely the latest Mac Mini has enough umph to power a microphone? My old iMac has no problem seeing the mic. Have I missed a firmware upgrade or something that will enable the Mac mini to 'see' my mic?

That's the 64-bit Windows version I have on hand and it would be nice to get it to work. I don't suppose the drivers that shipped with the MacBook Air are any newer?
You would think that Apple would jump to support XP x64 given the commercials about people switching back from Vista to XP.
I own the latest version of an iMac, and my sound refuses to work.However, when I start the computer up, it makes the long noise just before the gray pages with the dark gray apple comes up. I have a 2008 black macbook with 10.7.2 installed (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM). When I press caps lock, no green light turns on and letters remain in non-capital form. Even when I hold Caps lock for a few seconds, nothing happens. If I physically connect an apple keyboard via usb to my computer, caps lock doesn't work.

I just got a new classic MBP 2.5 and I have one problem.
When in System preferences and and try to open "Keyboard and Mouse", it just says; Loading Keyboard and Mouse. Then nothing happens and System Preferences freezes and i have to quit and re-open it to use it.
Everything else in there works fine.

I searched for an answer but I am quite unsure how to do this. Basically I plan to get a 24" external monitor to mainly use with my MacBook Pro. Also I would like to get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. But I would also like to use all of them with my PC if/when I decide to use it. I have used KVM Switches before but never with bluetooth. Does anyone know a good solution for this? Should I just get a wired mouse and keyboard?
