I thought that we could still access our dot mac accounts on older equipment. It's too early to retire my G5 Quad, it is still my daily driver. I did succome to temptation and "moved" to iCloud on my MBP and iPhone, when I got home I discovered that Mail didn't work on my Quad. I changed the incoming settings, still no luck. I've been a user since the iTools days.

On both my mac and iPhone the mail program keeps asking for my password, saying:
The iCloud IMAP server 99-imap.mail.me.com rejected the password
My password has not changed. When I enter it into the box, it just keeps repeating the message.Â

I am not able to download Mail in iCloud today (June 23, 2012). Down earlier. Backup after 2 hours. Worked for about 6 hours. Then down again now. Went to iCloud on the web. Was able to login but Mail is also not working on the web iCloud. Other apps are okay though.

I need to upgrade, to Lion, I know however the Tower in particular uses programmes not supported by LION. Is it possible to ICloud if the G4 Tower is 10.6 and the MacBook Pro is on Lion ?

My incoming mail server has changed to gray. Why? I cannot access it and I'm not getting my mail. It now has a "p02" in front of the imap. How do I edit this so I can get my mail on my MacBook again? Mail is coming through my iPhone only.

I cannot receive mhy me.com email on Microsoft Outlook on my iMac. I keep getting the message, "Mail could not be received at this time. The server for account 'iCloud' returned the error 'Authentication failed.' Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?" Reentering the password seems to have no effect and the above message repeats itself.Â

I'm in Afghanistan and our internet service consists of a large dish, connected to a series of switches, with lan cables that terminate in individual rooms. Normal service includes plugging in the cable to your machine, where you get a login screen, allowing you to purchase internet / log in.
When I try to plug instead into my AirPort Express, I can only get the internet to work when I place it in bridge mode. I'd like to get it to assign IP addresses to whatever I add to my network so that I can use both my MBP and my iPhone wirelessly. However, when I try to use it as a DHCP device, I can never get any device to find a web page, etc.
Is there away to import mail account settings from Thunderbird and/or Outlook Express into Mail? [that is mail.app, to help any one searching later on as Mail is too common a word to search for]. I've imported all my messages correctly but don't know how or if it's possible to import my account settings. Also: I'm in the process of migrating all my e-mails / mail accounts / settings and mail rules from Outlook Express to Mail [Mail.app]. I have successfully got all my e-mails across. I have also managed to convert all the e-mail addresses in the 50+ mail rules, as stored in the Windows registry, from hex into text.
Some of my rules have tens of e-mail addresses which if I had to add in each address separately would be a nightmare. Is there away of block adding in e-mail addresses to Mail? Also is it possible to manually edit the mail rules preference file(s) and insert the e-mail addresses into that? I'm aware I have to manually recreate the rules themselves but that's not so difficult. It's the adding back in of all the e-mail addresses that might be, given the large number that exist.
If I send a msg from Apple Mail to i.e. Outlook Express. The same msg shows up with "clean" text formating. That will say, no formatting at all. See this screen: [URL:...] I have just gotten back to the Mac now from 10-11 months in hell with Windows-stuf, so I am really eager to get this fixed. In Apple Mail the same message looks this: [URL:...] I dont want to change to Entourage, so excellent if you can help me out with this.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm running OX 10.4.11 on a G5. I have airport on my computer and at one point was able to share files from my desktop to a laptop. However at some point something happened and I can no longer do this.
I can't get into my network preferences as the following message comes up - "your network preferences have been changed by another application" and I have to force quite to get out of the window.
I have since purchases airport express and my husband got it to work at home. Now I just tried to install it on my desktop and it won't work. There are probably numerous problems here.
I will be going on vacation in a couple weeks and would like to take my Macbook Pro with me. The only problem I have is the hotel I am staying at charges for WiFi everyday. I would like access to the internet, but I don't feel like paying the money for their WiFi service. If I purchased Airport Express, would I be able to get internet access without having to pay for their fee? I already own Airport Extreme, so buying Express would be worth it for me anyways, I just would like to know if Express could allow me internet access without paying the hotel's fee.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI already have an Airport Extreme Base Station which has a shared printer connected by USB. I have an external hardrive which I also wanted to access wirelessly. Since my Airport's USB is already taken by the Printer, can I buy an Airport Express and use that to access an External Hard Drive?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to use both AND and OR rules with Mail's [mail.app] mail rules? For example in Outlook Express I have a rule which says should: the message body contain ANY of the following words:
one
two
three
four
AND the account is <insert account name here>
THEN move to <insert folder name here>
However on Mail there seems to only be the option for ANY or ALL and if I apply ANY then it will also move all mail from any account which has the words one, two, three or four, not just from the account I supplied. In additional all other e-mails from the account supplied will be moved as well, even if they don't contain those words.
I just bought a Mac and need to export my OE mail to Mac mail. The Apple store would not help me with this because they said it could not be done perfectly, therefore, they do not offer this service.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to ue the Mail program on OS X, but it won't import from Outlook Express in Classic Mode. What happens is that OE opens up, but none of my accounts are there (it's blank). My user folders are all
in place. I looked around the web and tried Mail Imports Scripts, which worked for only my Saved Mail Folder. it didn't import any of my other folders. I can't seem to import my Address Book either because of the
first problem with OE. Is there another user folder for OE in OS X that I'm not finding? Personally, I'd rather use OE in Classic Mode if I could. I don't like the layout of Apple's Mail.
I was just wondering, If I buy and airport express and use it to extend the wireless signal around my house, can I plug an ethernet cable on it and have that computer use the internet connection coming from it? dsl/cable modem -> airport extreme/time capsule -> airport express -> wired connection -> computer
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am running Lion (latest ver) on my iMac (2011, i7), and have icloud set up to sync mail (and other stuff) with my iPhone 4. My iCloud account Sent Mail and Drafts are being syncronized between the cloud the iPhone, but not the iMac. So for example, I see 2 items in my Drafts folder when I log into icloud.com, and I see them in the drafts folder on iPhone mail, but they do not appear in the drafts folder for my iCloud account on Mail.app on the iMac. Also, I don't see emails I sent from icloud.com on my Mac's mail. I have iCloud enabled on the mac, and mail syncing is specifically turned on. Â

I need to log in each time I access iCloud from Firefox or Safari, even though I always check the "Keep me signed in " box. I never explicitly log out of iCloud (I don't know how I would do that anyway). If I bring up my calendar in Firefox and then exit from Firefox, the next time I bring it up I have to log in again. It's supposed to keep you logged in for 2 weeks if you check the "Keep me signed in" box.
