Applications :: Mamp To Wamp Path To File Index.php?
Jul 3, 2010
Just trying to load my wamp sites on mamp.
Copied my folders into htdocs and it says to change to the wamp path file for index.php. I looked it up copied what I thought was the code needed and now all is broken.
MAMP is playing up on me - it seems to be running ok (ie connected to Apache and MySQL server, green lights are on), but the start page won't load.It also won't let me quit out of it properly. It seems to have quit, but when I load it up again the MAMP console appears immediately with both green lights on (ie it seems to have been running in the background).updated my firmware the other day to 3.1965 (3.1965), could this have something to do with it?nd is it possible to uninstall MAMP and reinstall it?
I've searched extensively on this topic, and I'm pretty sure I am out of luck. However, my perfectly fine pages document from yesterday will not open today. The .xml file seems to be the problem; when I view the package, the index.xml.gz file won't "unzip" to an xml file, and if I just change the file extension, I get a garbled mess. Is there any way I can get the xml.gz file recovered? I am very sad. I will no longer be using pages because I can't trust it. What I have read on the 'net is very discouraging. Yes, yes, backup yes yes all that stuff. However, unless someone has instant simultaneous backup, this kind of thing could still happen - it was just one day, and I don't backup my files every day.
I'm looking for a way to rename a batch of 30,000 photos. I have renamer but I don't think it does what I need it to do. I want to append the file name with the folder path. The photos are organized in folders which give info I want to make part of the filename itself (country, city etc.)
I am sure there is a way but...don't know how. Freeware or native apple way preferred over having to buy a new program.
we have some excel worksheets in the office an use neo-office to use VBA with the Macros, an the Macros point to save files to a storage device on the network, using a path like //001-stoarge/folder/
to save them manually would take a lot of time.
is there a way for Mac , or neo office to see the path like windows does? or UNC way
I have a detailed hierarchy of folders and files that I need to print a table of contents for. Is it possible to do this through OS X (either by directly printing, or exporting to another file, etc.)? I'd hate to type out the whole thing if there's an easier way.
Is there any quick way to get a file or folder's path in a copy/pastable form from the Finder (you know, like the location bar in most other file browsers)?
I know you can right-click on the little icon at the top of the window and it'll display the parent directories in a clickable form, but that's not very useful when I need to have the actual path (when coding, for example). Dragging the little icon won't work, either, as TextMate does weird things with that.
Basically, is there some Cmd+??? combination that'll copy the path to the clipboard?
I've always hated how itunes doesn't let you order by file path. It's really an overt ommission intended to get people to abandon their folder structures and have itunes take control. Anyways I've held off since I've built up a good system which works for me and I hoped that maybe one day it would get patched into it. Well it didn't look like they'd ever put it in so I started looking around for alternatives and I found one which works.
i've no idea what i'm talking about really haha, but here's the deal! i have a download that requires steps that i've no idea what the heck they are talking about, and i think it's mostly PC instructions too so i'm totally lost, all i know is what i downloaded isn't complete. so they tell me to do this
1. Burn or mount the Application ISO using one of the many ISO utilities. ( I personally use PowerISO to mount, but daemon tools should work fine too.)
personally i don't have the slightest clue as to what an ISO is in the first place but whatever. so i look up ways to do whatever it is they are asking for macs and i get this from [URL]
If you're wondering how to mount an ISO image in Mac OS X, it is very easy. In the Terminal type the following command: hdiutil mount sample.iso with sample.iso being the path to the image you want to mount. After the checksum is completet, your ISO will appear mounted on your Mac OS X desktop - that's it. You you can actually mount virtually any other disk image type with hdiutil as well, so give .dmg .img a try too.
still no clue what anyone is talking about but ok! i find terminal which i didn't even know existed. i type in what i think is that path cause i've no idea how to find it and i get this
macs-macbook:~ mac$ hdiutil mount /User/mac/Desktop/japanese1/data/00.rsd hdiutil: mount failed - No such file or directory.
Pre-Lion the way to see the path of the file you are currently looking at (in any app, but for simplicity let's say TextEdit), was to select Save As... and it would default to the directory the file is open in. At least that's the way I did it...
So now in Lion (which I generally like) how do you see what directory your current file is located in??
My MBP crashed, and I had to restore by dragging and dropping from an external hard drive. I fear I may have put the "library" for my user account in the incorrect place. I am trying to create and modify MS Excel Templates and am learning to do so watching Lynda.com videos and the file path they illustrate has the library listed after selecting a user...on my MBP I have library and users in the same category so when I go to my "user name" there is no library in the next category. I hypothesize that is why Excel is not automatically creating a "my templates" file for the custom templates I am creating.

If I change a folder name, while iTunes is working it's okay, it keeps playing the file just fine, but when I close iTunes and re-open it, it forgets the file path and make me find the path manually, then appears to be all right, but why it forgets the path when I close it?
I mean, even if I change the folder name (path) of the song that is actually playing, nothing happens and keep playing all the songs just fine, but if I close forgets all changes...
I configured the web server correctly and got my site up and running correctly. Unfortunately, I tried to edit the index.html file and changed all of the CSS formatting so now my page just looks like a simple text page without any images. My HTML coding skills aren't excellent so I cannot reconfigure the file in the same format. Is there a way reset the index.html file?
On Mavericks, Current itunes. My iTunes library files, the folder, iTunes Library.itl , iTunes Music Library.xml and so on, are stored in the Music folder of my system on the main hard drive.
All of the actual MP3s etc are on a separate drive, "Beagle Music". (I have iTunes set to not import and to leave my files the way I have them organized)
I've moved those to a new External, "Beagle Media".
I would like to point iTunes to the new drive, and would GREATLY PREFER not to have to rebuild the library files from scratch.
I TRIED editing the file path in iTunes Music Library.xml, thinking that would fix the .ITL file, but that is actually the reverse of how it works, so the XML reverted when I restarted iTunes.

The original message was too long, so here is a shorter version. Suppose I have the following file structure: Joeirthdayphotos. I want to type, "photo, joe" to get me to the "photo" folder. Is there a simple way to do something like that?

Spotlight seems to only allow users to find files but without relation to where the file might be located. This works fine if the filename is "New_York_Birth_Rate_2008.pdf". How about if it's stored as "Birth_RatesNew_York2008.pdf"? Searching for "2008.pdf" would bring up a whole host of files and one could select the one in the right folder. But what if you have a large number of files called "2008.pdf", stored under various folders (birth rate, mortality, morbidity, rain fall, humidity, crime rate, etc etc etc" and you want to narrow the search? Sure, one could use the advanced search, but this defeats the purpose of a file launcher like Spotlight.
Ideally, I want to input something like, "new york, birth, 2008" in any order and it would search for all folders and files with similar names, sorted by placing ones with more matched terms in terms of the file path. Is there an input method to do this? Surely this is a common scenario?
Here's another example, "Sales Person ABronx2009SeptInsurance Plan A.pdf". Now imagine I have 200 sales persons, and 50 areas. I want to type "richard, longevity plus.doc, bronx" to narrow the list. Sure, I can use advanced search, but as I said, this defeats the purpose of spotlight.
how to find the path to a file in a Spotlight search result. In Snow Leopard I would get the path to a file or folder by just holding the mouse over the search result in Spotlight. I don't see that in Lion.
I was looking around in the Applications folder and noticed that my browser displayed a page whose URL was file:///Applications/ that contained a pane that started like this (without the borders):Index of file:///Applications/Up to higher level directoryShow hidden objects(old) iMovie093/19/1210:46:20(old) iPhoto 09.app3/30/1019:55:35.DS_Store22 KB3/19/1218:15:24.localized6/13/1111:46:03Address Book.app2/9/1217:16:53Adobe4/27/1010:21:19Adobe Reader 93/19/1012:04:30App Store.app2/9/1217:17:01Automator.app2/9/1217:16:59Calculator.app2/9/1217:16:58etc., etc, etc.
I swear (figuratively) on a stack of manuals (that I don't have) that I did nothing (consciously) to trigger the "index" display. I've figured out that I can create an "index" (whatever in **** that is) of Macintosh HD anytime I want by opening a browser window and keying file:/// into the address line. By appending a filename from this "index" (wiHti) to file:/// I get an "index" (wiHti) of that file.
(1) What is an "index"?
(2) Why?
(3) How does Firefox know to do this?
(4) What triggered display of the Index of file: ///Applications/ in the first place?
I had previously downloaded MySQL on my computer. However, I discovered MAMP and want to use it. When I try to "Set to default Apache and MySQL ports" in the preferences form, Apache starts back up but MySQL doesn't and then my web program won't recognize my local server. What can I do to fix this?
When i click on "Copy Path" in Transmit FTP app,it copys the path with a few digits and numbers that i have to erase everytime......to get to the webpage !!
[URL]
How can i copy a correct path, where i dont have to delete the ftp and the extra :21// etc......??
I need to create an index for the new book I am going to have published this spring. Is there software which is compatible with Pages '09 which will search for words and show me what page they appear on, and enable me to make an index?
I am trying to install Wireshark. The directions say to open a Finder window and navigate to /usr/local/bin. I cannot find where this is in Finder. Can someone provide me a detailed path how I can find this folder to copy Wireshark files?
Because of hard disk space issues I've moved all my iTunes libraries (I'm using Libra for making several libraries and selecting them) over to a bigger external hard drive. However, iTunes still thinks my music is on the "old" drive. I could of course just give the "new" drive the same name as the "old" one, but I'd rather not. So is there a way I can modify an iTunes library with a new file path? The library structure and everything is the same. It's just on a differently named hard drive now.
I have gone to the "Private" tab under Spotlight preferences and dragged in my hard drive. The green "plus" sign lights up, but once I let go nothing ever gets added to the list. I've tried it with everything and nothing gets added.
I've gone to Terminal and typed "sudo mdutil -E /" plus my password. It returns: "Error, no index found for volume."
I've tried "sudo open /.Spotlight-V100" and it says the folder cannot be opened because I do not have sufficient access privileges. Does anyone know where to find this folder on my hard drive so I can get to it manually? I am hoping it might ask for my password once I'm there. As the administrator, does anyone know how to make the OS know that I do have sufficient privileges?
The things I have not done are use disk repair because I do not have a boot disk. I have not reinstalled because the OS came on my computer and I have no disks. I would think re-installing would do the trick, but there has to be something else going on that can be tweeked, wouldn't you think?
I've read several threads on this, but I cannot find any solution. I tried doing a delete and rebuild of the Spotlight index because it was recommended to do every now and then to improve performance. Ever since then, Spotlight won't index applications. I have Applications checked, I've even unchecked it, restarted and then rechecked it. I've rebuilt the Spotlight index three times and they don't show up. If I use Finder to edit Spotlight comments on an Application, all of a sudden it will show up, but not unless I do that. So, it seems like Spotlight ignores Applications until I do something that triggers Spotlight to see a comment and then all of a sudden the application appears in Spotlight.
All the solutions I have seen online are to check the privacy settings (I have nothing marked private) and to rebuild the index. Neither solution has worked. Does anything have any ideas what is causing most applications to not be picked up by Spotlight unless I add a comment and then erase it updating Spotlight?
I have a mid 2010 MacPro 12 2.66 Ghz cpu system with 48 GB of ram. I was running Windows 7 32 bit on my Apple SSD drive, but thought that it would be interesting to see the performance difference if I installed Windows 7 64 bit. Due to SSD space limitations Windows 7 64 bit was installed on an internal hard disk rather than the SSD drive. Here are the results:
Windows 7 32 bit on Apple SSD TS512B configured with 2 GB of RAM 8 CPUs Enable Adaptive Hypervisor checked
Processor 7.7 Memory 4.5 Graphics 6.0 Gaming 6.0 Hard disk 6.9
overall 4.5 (lowest score).
Windows 7 64 bit on Hitachi 2 TB drive HDS722020ALA330 configured with 8 GB of RAM 8 CPUs Enable Adaptive Hypervisor checked
Processor 7.8 Memory 7.9 Graphics 6.0 Gaming 6.0 Hard disk 7.9
overall 6.0
I was surprised by the increase in memory speed, and even more so by the hard disk improvement - even though on a physical disk rather than an SSD. In two cases (memory and hard disk) it hits the maximum performance number possible of 7.9.
I am still fairly new to the Mac, had mine just over a month now. What has struck me is how slow spotlight is. I come from Windows 7, which has a fantastic instant search. I am not sure if my expectations of spotlight are off or if I have some issue I am unfamiliar with. I've researched this quite a bit. There do seem to be random complaints about spotlight. Usually people recommend getting more ram, rebuilding the index, or repairing permissions. I have tried repairing permissions, that is about it. I am not sure how the index is rebuilt, or I would be willing to try that.
What seems to happen is sometimes I just do not get the results I want. I will type in a query, and wait for 10 - 20 seconds for the document I want to show up. It usually never does. If I delete the query, then try again immediately afterwards, the document I want shows up. Is this behavior expected? This is snow leopard fully updated on a Macbook Pro 2.53Ghz i5 and 4GB Ram with the 500GB 7200 RPM hard drive. While the query is running, I have Word, Outlook, Safari, and sometimes Xcode and the terminal open. Should I just leave it be, that is how it is, deal with it? Or is rebuilding the index something I have to do regularly, or maybe some other voodoo magic trick?
I noticed the other day that mds was taking up all my cpu power, and spotlight was trying to index my drive, with 876489 hours remaining. Did a bit of googling and found and got a terminal command to reset the whole of spotlight, left it over night next morning it was stuck at 90%. I then tried the application spotless to reset spotlight...left it over night now stuck on 89% with 157859 hours remaining. IMac G5 2.1Gz, 350GB of a 500GB drive used.
