View 3 RepliesMy Word seems to be confused about what each type of spacing is. Today I had a double spaced paper written and started messing around with those view buttons on the bottom left corner. When I got it back to print layout view my spacing was much larger than before, but still said double spaced.
I realize that it is now correct and was too small before. I don't know why it changed, but when I open other documents it still has them as the small, incorrect double spacing and I can't figure out how to make them right. I've got the paragraph thing set to 0 and don't add space--that's none of the problem.
MS Word is adding an extra line between paragraphs in a double spaced paper. How did I get rid of it?

I have an older MacBook Pro running system 10.4.11. Yesterday, I started having strange trackpad behavior where it will sometime act as if I double-clicked when I only clicked once. So I'm highlighting everything until I double click again. Then, I sometimes have to double-click in places a single-click is supposed to work such as closing windows. I've rebooted, adjusted a trackpad settings and don't know what to do at this point.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this really annoying issue where my mouse will randomly double click in OS X when i didn't actually double click my mouse. I had this problem before in Leopard (with different mouse) but now it seems the problem has returned with snow leopard. has anyone else had this problem? I checked the mouse properties and there's nothing strange there. I also don't have custom drivers installed. Just default snow leopard drivers.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI keep seeing these weird multi-color single pixel lines across my windows and my system is crashing alot (rather it becomes completely frozen and non-responsive). I don't know if this is a video card problem, or memory issue, or just something in the system OS. It does seem that it happens quite often while running Handbrake. I'm still getting these lines with a fresh OS install, so I'm thinking my original video card is on the way out. Will replacing it with actually improve performance?

If I create a new message in Mail.app and start typing, the text is single spaced.
If I paste in text from a word processor, or quote someone else's message, I sometimes find that my text is 1-1/2 spaced or double-spaced. Can line spacing or leading be set or controlled from within a mail message?
I have been having an odd issue with iWeb and just recently Pages where letter spacing is horribly inconsistent making reading (and typing) quite difficult to do. The effect is quite random, but what happens is that all of a sudden, both of these programs will not space letters properly. For example, in the phrase: "hello world" the phrase might display correctly in program, the spacing between random characters in one word (such as e and l in the first phrase) may be scrunched close together or spread out a bit (usually the former). The only programs that I have seen exhibit this is Pages and iWeb. The odd thing is that the text shows up correctly in other extensions (like when I upload my iWeb page to mobile me), but if I convert my pages document to PDF, the character spacing problems retain.

I tossed the Word Plist file and that did not work.
I have run Virus Barrier X5 and found a about 10 files with Virus 'W97M/Pinky.B' "Quarantened" them and still have the problem.
The problem started -- I think -- when I was doing heavy editing between Numbers and Word. But I don't think it is related (though who knows at this point). Without these programs I'm rendered pretty useless.

I need to update iWork on my Mac cos iWork 08 docs don't work on my new iPad. But iWork 09 is about 18 months old now so surely will be updated soon. Would anyone who is learned in the product cycle of Mac apps care to hazard an educated guess on an update?

I've taken a few screenshots to illustrate the problem.
As you can see, the line spacing is awkward. There's no enter between these lines, but for some reason there's a lot of space between them.
Now this is what happens when I nudge the caption of the image on the left upwards.
The spacing is fixed! But now my caption is in front of my picture, which, obviously, isn't what I want..
Anyone have a clue as to how to fix this?
Indeed, is there a difference? I notice that Family costs more than the other one, but I can't make out what difference there is in the description.

I've been using a trial version and I'm going to buy it, but I was wondering if I should stick it out by using google docs in the event that they release iwork '09. View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I used the iWork '09 trial for 30 days now and now I have a box version and I want to simply use the buy function from the trial to upgrade to the full non-trial version. It has: Quote: If you've purchased an iWork '09 box, you'll find the serial number on the Installing iWork '09 booklet. There's only one problem, there's no serial number on the booklet! How do I install using the buy function or do I have to install the full iWork suite again on my computer? Seems kind of silly. If so, do I need to then uninstalling one of my versions of iWork '09? And if so, which one? How do I tell the difference at that point?
Some of you might be wondering and about to comment on the fact that I should have just bought the online version and saved the hassle. The reason why I bought the box is because I could get it for $39 at my girlfriend's campus computer store.
If I click on a icon then i have to wait several seconds until i can klick again to rename (that takes also several seconds until i can rename it) it or something else. since some days my trackpad always wants to open the file if i click on it. the other mysterious thing is, when I plug in an usb-mouse (not magic mouse) and click on a link in the safari app with the middle-button of the mouse, my macbook air opens the link in a new tab twice, instead of one single time. if there somewhere is an option to reset all the option of the input devices?Â

to be specific I want to change the iWork '09 folder icon, I downloaded a new folder online, I have it in INCS and PNG form and its 512x512, I already searched on google for how to do this and tried copying the file and pasting it on the little icon in the "get info" boxit will copy the file over but it won't be in 512x512 size, in cover flow mode of the finder if i make it anything more than like 48x48 it disappears

Ok so I understand how to change the grid spacing as shown above, but what have I set it to? What is the default. and what is the actual pixel spacing? I need to know this as I use an applescript that places the icon/folders on the desktop in a spaced format. If they loose there position the clean up function messes them up.

I recently plugged my Belkin USB mouse into my Black MacBook. All works OK, except that I cannot change the number of lines jumped when I use the scroll wheel.
The "Scrolling Speed" setting in System Preferences > Mouse doesn't do anything.
Any ideas? Is there a config file I can change via Terminal?
Sometimes when I'm working fast on my MacBook I click in the dock, opening applications that I don't want. This is a bit annoying to me, anyone knows how customize the dock in order it needs a double click to open the application - like is happens in the Applications folder?

Being HTML email, there's no guarrenty the recipient will see the same formatting but from Mail —> Mail should be fine yes?
