I have iWeb '08 which i have not used since buying my Mac over a year ago.
Now i have to put a website together but do not know if can be 'published' to a host server via FTP or another method?
I have just done a little design on iweb 09 on my new imac 27" and have uploaded it to my hosting. Its succesfully uploaded but the problem is thisIf my web address was say www.macs4u.co.uk the website. When i type that in now it goes to www.macs4u.co.uk/www.macs4u.co.uk/welcome.html and shows that site i just uploadedWhy cant i just have it uploaded to my server so when i type in www.macs4u.co.uk it stays as that and show the website??

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a very simple website I update and publish using iWeb. The changes can then be seen immediately if I go look with Chrome or Firefox, but Safari insists on seeing the older website, before updates.Â
I have tried clearing the cache, resetting Safari, clearing history, erasing cookies and content, nothing works.
How do I move iWeb 08 sites to another host?

I have downloaded firezilla for mac and using 123-reg for my domain names and hosting but having absolutely no joy in getting the website moved across to the new host. Is there anyone out there who can help? I normally figure things out and solve my own problems but in this event I don't understand the terminology.

Iwe know that Apple is building a huge server farm that almost certainely is pertaining to MobileMe or its sucessor. We also know that that iWeb is rather tied to the web and MobileMe (off course I know that you can use iWeb without MobileMe). And the MacApp Store is coming in less t han 90 days I think that the iLife suite is being deprecated and the four apps are going to be sold individually in the MacApp Store. Thereby they can have individual releases.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a machine running OS X Server v10.4.11, and I'm trying to export some NFS mounts. I have the intended shared directory (a folder called NetBackups on a disk called xRAID L) added in Workgroup Manager, with access set to "World", but if I issue the command to another OSX machine (IP has been replaced with 0s) "sudo mount -t nfs 000.000.000.000:/Volumes/xRAID L/NetBackups test", I get an access denied error.

I can connect to it from the macbook pro it is running on by using my IP address or my loopback address. however when I try to connect to it from another host (on the same subnet as my MBP) I can't. My MBP just doesn't respond to the connection attempts. I ran wireshark on my MBP and it shows that it doesn't respond. I can see the SYN packets coming in but no SYN/ACK packets are sent back.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have gone through the setup of my newly installed lion server software. I setup a server.example.private host name and have turned on file sharing, and VPN. I bought the server software so I can access my host computer from my IPad and a windows based laptop. When I attempt to setup the profile manager I get to the screen in the directory admin setup that asks for the host name and password, etc. The name and host name are already populated with a generic names and the password fields are blank. Whether I leave the generic fields blank and try and enter a new password or change the generic fields and password to something new I get the same error message every time. It says "Computers host name is invalid. The host name does not resolve to any configured address on this comp. ensure the host name is correct. How do I find out what the correct host name is for my computer?

My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which i have made many changes. Now when I open iWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto iWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto iweb?

My old MB got attacked by some tea and died. So now i have a new unibody although the main thing that i have lost from my old MB is my iWeb pages.
I have mobile me, and have the site published to that. How can i download the site to my MB in iWeb format? Iv tried downloading them as HTML but iWeb can't open them.

Many months passed and I wasn't doing anything with that particular site any longer, so I nuked the pages within iWeb and have since worked on new projects.Now I need to do some work on that old site again.I have all of the created content in a folder that had been stored on my server, but I have nary a clue how to get it all back into iWeb again.

I've put a lot of work into customizing the theme, and iLife 09 is currently being shipped to me. In iWeb 09, can I still maintain and build on this site even though the theme is not included anymore? And, if not, is there a way that I can find the theme data in Finder and copy and paste that into the theme data files in iWeb 09?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI created an everyday reoccurring event in my iphone for one of my summer classes. I unfortunately forget to add which day it ends. Then it was uploaded to ical and then to my google calendar via nemusync on the iphone.
I dont know how it worked out but now I have an event on both my ical and iphone that I cant simply "delete future events". Now I have to delete every single one for 80 something months or something like that.
The question I have is how do I remove a single recurring event. I have tried deleting the very first occurance of the event and it didnt work. I have tried deleting it from the iphone and ical. Nothing works other than deleting each one, one by one.
I'm trying to setup mail on Lion Sever (7.3). The only way I can get it to accept incoming mail is to specify the whole FQDN of the server in the address. For example the domain name is example.com and I have a user set up called john. Sending mail to john@server.example.com works.
But sending mail to john@example.com (which is what I want) returns an error:
554 554 5.7.1 <john@example.com>: Relay access denied (state 13).
For internal DNS, I have:
example.com - primary zonemail.expample.com - alias server.example.comserver.example.com - 192.168.1.2 [URL] - alias server.example.com MX record [URL]
I see references here to problems in mail on 7.3 but not this specific problem.

I just registered a domain name. I would like to publish an iWeb site to own Mac Mini server. How do I get the FTP server settings?

Now that I can no longer publish my iWeb sites via Mobile Me, I have tried to use the ftp server that I pay for through a site hosting service for my business (sitemason). Unfortunately, there is some "redirect" that I cannot find and it creates an index that makes the iWeb pages become my "Home" page. I don't need to override my existing website, I only want the iWeb pages to open when the links to them are accessed. Is this a simple issue or should i just pay some service to publish my iWeb content and keep it nested within my old site?

It seems the best alternative on mac is nicecast which i use frequently.
It would be nice to find a mac host (like shoutcast) so people could connect in without me sending them a url.
Everytime I open iChat, it will not let me log in and it says "The host refused the connection" So some people have suggested that I change the port number to 443. Which then I can log in but I can't video chat. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I guess as Apple as done away with iDisk (where this was possible) it was just a good method of being able to visually confirm what's there and what isn't.
